I think I'm FINALLY ready to do something I've ALWAYS wanted to do: I want to make YouTube videos/vlogs/sandwiches

My friend was talking about how she made videos once and I said it sounded like fun, so she suggested that I get a video camera for Christmas(the moment Halloween ends will essentially be Christmas).

If I can get a camera, convince my mother to let me vlog, and stare into a camera without looking like a rapist, I could finally fulfill one of the only goals in my non-existent life.

So, what sort of camera should I get? I don't need anything too fancy, just something with good quality and a decent mic. Also what's a good editing system?

Last thing: my mother usually has a $400.00 limit on X-Mas gift money, so if possible try to stay below that.

    Thanks, byyyye!

Try Canon, Nikons tend to be kind of expensive and they're built mainly for photography while canons are built for multipurpose use。
Whereas you could purchase fancy editing systems, iMovie is free and convenient to use with a little practice。 In my video journalism class, we were all taught how to use iMovie, and it's honestly not that hard。The good part is that it's easy to use。 Plus, it has many functions, like video extensions, cutting, audio adjustments such as lowering or changing the source, zoom, and a lot of other stuff。
You don't need a $1,000 canon for vlogging, something $200-$400 should work fine。
Also, I suggest getting a fast computer for editing, it takes a while and can be very very distracting。
