"Bad Grammar"

Ho Boy...so, seeing all of these threads about bad grammar and stuff, I think it's time to say something...


If someone has bad grammar, they should improve. They will do it over time, as they mature. It takes time, but it will happen. They will improve, unless they are doing it purposely.


That being said, there is no need to attack them for the use of bad grammar. Some people use bad grammar, sure. Such as @speedy0114 . BUT, you can understand it, right? Is it a bit tricky to understand, sure. But it's understandable nonetheless. If you can't understand it, you're lazy, plain and simple.

The use of bad grammar is not at all a bad thing! It shows you are still young is this world, and you still have a while to go in life. It may mean you're a bit immature, but immaturity is not always the terrible thing people see it as! Immaturity can mean you are just young, not that you have no sense, or no feelings, or no self control. Though it can mean those things, it doesn't always. Like I said, use of bad grammar is not as bad of a thing as ya'll make it out to be.

It's not (usually) the person's fault for using bad grammar. It is time, and age, and learning.

If you do talk to them about their grammar, then go ahead. But I suggest you be constructive and polite about it, rather than just attack them, or mock them for it.

To be fair, autocorrect mainly fixes spelling, not grammar.

 

As Spicy said, it mainly fixes spelling...

Not only that, but the world of texting is filled with these shortcuts, such as "plz", "ppl", "ofc", etc. (See? I just used one right there.)

 

Drop the tension. It doesn't matter how well you can spell or use grammar. As long as you understand what the other person is trying to say, you don't have to dick about it.

I'm not pointing this towards anyone. I'm basically saying that you guys should calm your mantits.

I corrected Speedy's grammar 3 months ago. THREE. MONTHS.

This did not need to be brought back. I asked him kindly if he wanted help. If he doesn't want help, then I won't help him. It's his problem then.

When Xad posted on Wiki's profile about Wiki and I correcting grammar, Speedy was nowhere. That was unnecessary.

Stop bringing this back, none of us have done anything to Speedy this time, and it annoys me to constantly be accused of something I have not even done yet.

 

I used him as an example, not trying to point fingers. I'd rather not have a fight start on this thread, so i'd like it if we'd drop that issue.

Even though I type carefully and get frustrated when I make mistakes, I don't correct others. I correct myself instead.
Despite English not being my first language, I tend to have better grammar than most members on the forums, as some people say, like LilaRok.
