i was just searching around for a hidden home and look what i find:
and no. this isn't amplified. just regular 1.7.4. no amplifications.

its always awesome to see the strange things minecraft generates, i would convert that into little houses carved into the pillars of some and connect them with bridges.

Actually, it probably is amplified. If you load a normal world, then change the settings to amplified in the minecraft folder, and then go to an unloaded chunk - it loads an amplified world. Ask your friend if he did this.
