Hi, When I first posted this I was debating with myself where to put it, I didn't know if I should put it in the Suggestions section or just Random Spam although I've now thought to put it here as it's not really a suggestion and it's mostly just a discussion. Now to the point, on this forum there's a section for suggestions where people can ask the staff about ideas they have for the server that go from things as simple as commands all the way to brand new mini-games and some of these suggestions are bad and nobody likes them and eventually they get locked and sent in to the abyss of denied suggestions. Although I have one problem, a lot of people have suggested some extremely good things where up to 40-50 people have agreed/upvoted the suggestion although they get that one "Agreed blah blah" reply and then the thread disappears in to the huge stack of ideas and doesn't get read again for months, so I just want to ask, why don't suggestions get checked as often? I know it's a big deal maybe for administrators to make things but whenever someone suggests something and it gets A LOT of posts agreeing, nobody ever takes it in to consideration? There's some really good ideas out there from the community that could make the server a much better and fun place although they're all just ignored. So for those that have gone for the "tl;dr" thing, I just want to know, why do suggestions not get read and do you guys think that they should be read more? Maybe a "Denied Suggestions" section could come in handy where locked threads get sent although I don't know if that'd be possible without spending a lot of time whooshing through all the pages of suggestions and getting them in to a different section seeing as there's probably no option to just move all locked threads... Anyway, enough of me, what do you guys think?
Perhaps they could form a team of, 5 staff members (Current or ex-staff), 5 people from the community (Defaults and ranked), that looks at suggestions, checks if they are wanted, needed, or are feasible. If they see a valid suggestion, that is wanted, or needed, they tell the owners. Who have the final choice. And if accepted, locked, and moved to an accepted section. If they see an in-practical or not feasible suggestion, that is not wanted, or not needed, they deny and move it to a denied section.
I think they just don't accept suggestions as often because it can be a lot of work or they just don't think the idea is good. We can all say that we agree, but we all look from our own perspective. They need to look at all perspectives and maybe thats why not every suggestion gets accepted. Also I think that there are things behind the scenes we obviously don't know (just speculating :3)
They're suggestions, not demands. Not everything must be checked 24/7. Plus, most staff already go on the Suggestions page enough; they don't have to leave a comment on it. So plainly, I don't think they need to look too much into it, it's really the owner's and co-owner's choice anyway.
The thing is some suggestions that are popular with community and staff that take 2 minutes to implement are just left. I can understand things like minigames and new commands may need to be coded.
5 people of an entire community should NOT be deciding things like that. In addition so many players lock suggestions just because they get an ounce of negative feedback. I feel that this would not help the situation. What do you mean by this, and how does it take two minutes? -- Other then that I think a denied subsection would do nicely, it would make it easier to find useful suggestions.
E.g the community agrees and it takes a few minutes to do something (like ticking a box or executing a command)
I agree that there should be a denied vs. accepted suggestions thing for clarity purposes and to keep undecided ones relevant. HOWEVER, the staff are not obligated to accept/deny suggestions just like staff apps. I would like to add a suggestion to be considered in line with this: allow bumping for suggestions. Your thoughts?
