Abortion

I wanted to talk about this with you guys for a while and I meant to make this discussion late in January since January is when the March for Life is in Washingtion D.C. and more than 40 years ago was when the Roe v Wade decision was made to legalize abortion. However, I want to talk about this now. First of all, I will not tolerate anything bad going on in this thread. If you are going to spark something, either keep it to yourself or I will report it myself, I will not hesitate. That does not mean I will instantly report you if you are for abortion, unless you start to condemn others for having a different opinion or just basically being immature about this topic.. I wish to keep this topic civil and organized. I don't care if this topic is controversial towards others. This is real life and should be a good topic to talk amongst others, if only we can respect each other and keep our discussion on the right track. I may risk something that will go against me, but it is a good risk to take.

As a Catholic, I have been taught that killing is wrong, obviously. I mean there are ways to "kill" things that you don't have to use physical force. You can "kill" someone through emotions, words, actions, etc. It does not always have to be physical.

I was also taught that the practice of abortion is wrong and I will stick to that opinion through my entire life. If you don't know what it is, it means that you are basically terminating a pregnancy by killing the fetus by removing it out of the womb so that it could not survive on its own. I have also been that life is just very sacred. Everyone, no matter who you are has a purpose in life. Abortion is the innocent killing of a baby. There is a baby in that womb that has a heart beating and is breathing, just not born yet out of the womb where it can survive outside the mother. I once heard a story about I think a high school senior or some high school girl who got pregnant and her parents wanted an abortion. She went to the abortion clinic, but at the last minute refused the abortion and wanted the baby to live. Even abortionists who once performed abortions have changed their views and become pro-life when they realized that their is a human life in the womb. It is inspiring. I plan on going to Washington D.C., in January 2015, where I will see snow for the first time, to rally against abortion. Now I would like to know what you think.

What is your opinion about abortion? Are you pro-life or pro-choice? What have you been taught about abortion?

 

I was taught that it is not when the baby is born that begins life. Life begins at the moment of conception when the sperm meets the egg and that's when the fetus forms and then life should end at a natural death. The fetus develops and grows with all the vital organs in order for it to survive. If the baby was not living in the womb, from your words, then it would not even develop at all and humans would pretty much not exist without vital functions. Basically, humans would not even exist.
That is why it is still killing a human even if it is dependent on the mother.

 

My opinion on abortion is-

If the woman wants an abortion, give her the abortion.

What if the woman was raped and got pregnant, she probably doesn't want a child. What if she just can't afford to feed another mouth? What if she can't afford to have another child? What if she wanted children with her significant other instead of a man she doesn't know?

If she really can't have it because of the issues, why should she have it?

 

If a girl was raped, there is actually a very low chance of pregnancy since the hormones being given off during something violent like rape would make the sperm die off. In the case of her getting raped and actually getting pregnant, if she doesn't want the child in her own will, she can always put the child up for adoption, that's not a problem. All human life should be sacred, because every human has a purpose in life.

I knew someone would say something about this scenario. Thanks for pointing that out.

 

I say abortion is fine.

 

I don't think abortion should be as easy to do as it is.
I think the only time a baby should be killed is when it has problems that would affect it's life.
I don't mean slight problems, I mean those who are blind and deaf, or confined to a wheelchair and not able to perform activities by themselves.

5% of rapes end in pregnancies.
Resulting in tens of thousands of women who would have to give birth to their rapists baby.
As if the rape wasn't bad enough? ._.
This is all I'm going to say on this.

 

If a baby was not wanted to be brought into this world, don't put it into this world as it will live it's life knowing it was not wanted - which I find more painful than abortion. But, then again, adoption can be a better idea. Give them a chance to live in this world.

Rape -> because the baby was made out of terrible circumstances, I'd say abortion would be a good idea. I would not want to be brought into this world in result of rape, just saying.

 

So you are saying that those who have problems after being born should be killed off? Blind, deaf, and confined to a wheelchair? There is hope for every human. I mean later in the future there is a possibility that blindness and deafness would be curable.

Adoption is better than abortion. You are at least giving the baby a chance to live in the world.

Abortion is a complete violation of this commandment. Yes this is from the Bible as most of you should know. I am just going to give a short opinion about it:

I think abortion is murder and murder is one of the worst sins you could possibly make. Alright I don't think I should say anymore since I really don't want to bring up religion too much and possibly start a flame war about it.

Please don't quote this post or tag me about it, the fact that I think it is murder is just a matter of opinion. Any posts that say anything rude about it will be reported.

2) Would you like to be blind and deaf, or forever confined to a wheelchair, not being able to feed yourself, bathe yourself, go to the toilet yourself? I don't think so.

 

There's a lot I could say about this subject, but I'm too lazy to type it out. Abortion is bad.

 

Fetus is not alive untill it developes a brain. There is no living human without brain. You can't kill something which is not living.

Hate, dislike, argue, you have right to.
But we are killing millions of animals daily, we are not worth more, thousands of men and women die daily in the fogs of war, so idk why are you focusing your view on topic like this one, when there are much worse issues to discuss.

 

I can find many reasons to justify abortion and as many reasons to justify keeping the baby, so I'll put it like this. Whatever you decide to do should be respected. If you keep the baby, if you do abortion, it's your decision, your body and you have the right to do so. If you do abortion, you will have traumas, cause going trough abortion isn't an easy task. Keeping the baby, however, can potentially, and most likely will if you are a teen, ruin both your and baby's future.

I'd say I'm pro choice, but you should only get an abortion if it is the singular last choice you have.

 

I can't please everyone. I am not trying to force you to think like this. Lots of opposition, I actually was kind of expecting people to think differently than me.

I'm sticking to my opinions and you all stick to your opinions.

I feel like I am very different from the rest of the community, that one guy.

I like having discussions like this, no matter how controversial they may seem. It draws us closer.

Now about the future of this thread, I'm leaving it open if others have anything else to reply.
