Other Games 2 quick questions... [POKEMON]

So umm yeah the title says it all it would be really kind if you could answer the two following questions listed below. Oh yeah and, the game I am currently playing is pokemon Y (I know I'm so late... It's just that I haven't got time to play the game)

1. I really want to delete, and restart my game... But I can't seem to find any delete file button or anything similar anywhere... How do you delete a save?

2. I really want to know what the most efficient way of playing the game is... All of my last pokemon games that I have played haven't been efficient at all. I am looking for a way where I can finish the game, and get all of the pokemons on the pokedex. Should I play the story first, then try to catch them all? or...

@Shadow_Riolu tagging you cause I know you play pokemon and you're OP.

 

1) Do this in this order, and hold it. Up, B, X.

2) Start with a good starter, Froakie if you want a fast water type that can be used competitively, Fennekin if you want a single player non competitive pokemon, Chespin if you want a slow, but defensive competitive pokemon. Then, get pokemon that can compliment your starter. Have one mega evolution (Mega Lucario or Mega Scizor/Pinsir). Then have a defensive pokemon, such as swampert. Have a super attack stat killer, Lucario, Pinsir, etc. Have a super special attack killer, gardevoir, Gengar, etc. Last but not least, a Pseudo legendary. Salamance, Goodra, Metagross, etc.
