It has been almost 5 months since 1.8 has come out. Spigot and Craftbukkit are both out for 1.8, what I don't understand is why they haven't updated yet. 1.8 added many great features and changes, I just can't wait to use the features that they added. Also the Craftbukkit you are using now limits some things such as when you try to repair and enchanted item in an anvil. Thank you for reading my Thread! Please reply!
I am not sure with anything to due with plugins but, isn't updating the server to 1.8 a huge change? I have heard updating to 1.8 would mean a total reset for the server. The server is fine as it is atm. The server allows 1.7 and 1.8 users. So its fine atm. Also, as you said there are problems with anvils, that is only on 1.8.
I'm not too sure if the server should go to 1.8..... I don't like switching clients when I'm on 1.7 and I wanna join j&h.
The reason is, J&H server use custom plugins. Meaning, they have to manually update every single plugin. Including their enchant plugin, nickname plugin, and every other custom plugin. It takes time, believe me. It's not something you can easily just do in 5 seconds, it takes lots of time and commitment. For now, I suggest you be patient and wait it out.
In order for the server to upgrade to 1.8 all the plugins must be updated to it first. Not every single plugin has been updated yet so that makes it impossible for the server to upgrade until they do.
Pfft #1.7.2 1.8 is overrated anyway. It'll be disappointing when the server does update; I'll have to switch clients
