Minecraft I hate how people are still complaining about 1.9

This wasn't a bad update, nor a new one. There is no reason to be bickering about it, PvP used to be way too easy. This update made the game harder, which is good since this game has been around for over 5 years, its gonna get easy at some point, and what's the point of playing an easy game? You weren't accomplishing anything at all when you were spamming mouse1.

 

I love the fact that a ton of pvp players say that it requires skill. Tbh the only thing I hear from them is that they have the "incredible" skill to click their mouse suuuuper fast and now that is broken because of 1.9. The most hateful thing for me is that I would love for new updates to come to servers, but most are staying at 1.8 because of the pvp aspect. I would love to build with new blocks cmon, the server isn't only pvpers

When 1.9 originally came out, I admit that I was on the bandwagon with the peeps ahting on the new pvp mechanics. However, after playing/testing the 1.9 pvp out, I've actually come to be fond of it. It's a very interesting way to pvp, and now it requires skill and a game-plan (instead of it being all about who can click the fastest). Overall, MC at the time needed something big and this was it.

 

It's not more their opinion it's more that they are still crying about the update. It's been a long time since it was released.

 

why does it even matter? that is what i am asking!! why does it matter that people are still crying and complaining about it? why does it matter if people like it or not? why does it matter that people have different opinions about it than others? why does it matter that the update even exists? WHY CANT PEOPLE JUST IGNORE WHOEVER STILL COMPLAINS ABOUT IT, NO MATTER HOW LONG IT HAS BEEN GOING ON?

 

I don't necessarily believe this but I am just stating a counter argument:

Many players that are fond of 1.8 pvp could say all the 1.9 pvpers are complaining about how 1.8 is all about spam clicking.
When in actual fact 1.8 is slightly more complex in its mechanics.
Minecraft can only register a certain click speed per second(I believe this is 5).
Therefore if this is the case how can people with click speeds higher than this vary in skill so greatly.
This is due to different aspects of 1.8 pvp such as comboing and critical hits.
What many 1.8 players say is that combos and critical hits are harder to achieve with the new mechanics.

I agree with this statement but I'm not sure 1.9 pvp was the way to do it because of the way it became so controversial.

Yes it has been a while since the update but the thing is if people don't like it they will still complain about it.
Like it or not, a lot of people don't like change(I myself don't like too much change) and therefore they will want things as they once were.
You can try and persuade people to your side of the argument but telling them to be quiet about their opinion won't work.

 

Because itsjerryandharry listens to its players. If there are tons of pvpers crying bout it, non pvpers will undergo the consequenses.l, like not being able to build with new blocks and having no new mobs. Itsjerryandharry used a poll last time to update from 1.7 to 1.8 and prob will be the same when going to 1.10, so peoples opinion will be heard.

 

The "It's all about who can click the fastest" argument is such a poor point. These people who are good at PvP that click 10cps or more could also probably beat you while clicking the same speed as you. Clicking 5-7 clicks a second would give you much higher accuracy, while clicking 1o clicks a second would give you much lower accuracy and your hits would only register maybe a millisecond quicker. As someone who clicks 9-12 clicks a second, I can beat people who have crazy high cps like 15+ just fine. You should be more worried about ping rather than cps, because if I went on jerry and harry and pvped someone living in Canada, they would have a big advantage over me as I live in Australia. 10-30ping in Canda, 240-400ping in Australia.

This goes without saying I do enjoy 1.9 pvp, I just hate it when people say good pvpers in 1.8 have no skill and all it takes is high cps, because that's false. I get rekt by people with 5-7cps a lot, aswell as being able to beat people with 15+ cps.

 

I'm impatient af so having to wait to hit is boring :^)

Well said. As I'm also Australian I can agree with what you said and I'm sure many others could agree also.

Yes, Australia does have a poor connection with the server, as you said anywhere from 240-400+ ping, which in itself makes pvp more difficult (I feel your pain). Not to mention the hit detection and knock-back. Cps can be a contributing factor to how "good" you are, however, Cps is nothing without a somewhat good aim. I sometimes notice that whether I'm clicking 12-13 cps or 6-8, it does not really make a difference due to the lag. I don't mind 1.9 pvp, although I still use 1.8.9 as personal preference.

 

okay i cannot believe that someone made a garbage thread about something this small. the majority of people here like 1.9 and thats great, but they have to jump all over 1.8 pvp because of it. they say 1.8 pvp requires no skill or 1.8 pvpers have no skill, which triggers me to hear it.

WOW HE IS RIGHT. 1.8 PVP DOES REQUIRE SOME SKILL.

I'd just like for everyone to stop whining, the owners to update to 1.9 and deal with it. 1.12 is right around the corner and we're still in 1.8. That's depressing.

 

To be honest, that's not depressing at all. Most of the larger servers are still running 1.8 and it seems fine at the moment.
