Today I learned about Leadership. When you think about what a leader is you'd think that to be a leader you have to be brave and strong. Well, you're wrong. To be a leader is to be kind and respectful to others. Would you want to follow a leader that is aggressive? You would want to follow someone who actually cares for others and respects them. The reason I am making this thread is because I want everyone to know that they're leaders. Sometimes you can be a leader everyday and not even notice it. You can give someone advice and make them be a better person. For example, I read this article about a girl who didn't want to go to college but this teacher who worked at a donation event gave the boy next to her a lollipop and told him to give it to her. That changed her life forever and she ended up going to college and four years later she thanked him when he had to go. The teacher didn't even remember the day he gave the boy the lollipop and who told himself that he did something that changed someone's life forever and he didn't even remember. What Im trying to get by this is that we can all be leaders if we respect each other and show kindness to each other. You don't have to be a staff to be kind or to respect others. You can do this everyday because you never know when you might make an impact on someone's life. Thank you for reading this if you did because you're a leader too. ;)
I went to a course that trained leadership skills a few years ago and I have to tell you, you're wrong. Being kind and respectful is very nice but that's not what defines a leader. Have you ever seen military generals? They don't feed you cookies and milk. To be a good leader you have to be charismatic, confident, trustworthy, etc.
I agree but this isn't about war or the military. We can be leaders to each other by supporting them and being kind. How would you be a leader to someone if you're confident? What does that accomplish? By being nice you can actually make someone feel important and make them realize something.
Leadership is being able to lead, essentially. You must be confident and charismatic - able to get people to follow you. Of course leaders have to offer support too, but they have to guide their followers. You have to have your own opinions and stand firm on them. You have to be able to organise a group. It's not that easy tbh.
Leadership takes commitment, but if you wanna be the best of the best then I'd suggest it's the best thing out there for you :)
