Personally i really dont believe channels like leafy, pyro and ricegum should be able to make the sort of videos they do.
I don't see a point in them. They start unnecessary fights and wars. Spending your time making videos on how crappy other people's videos are is a waste of time, imo.
Here's my point of view on them: You see, people like Leafy, Pyro LTCorbis, and Ricegum joke around, they don't mean the things they say (If you want proof on Leafy then watch this (Yes, don't get fooled by the clickbait)). They all do it for money but they don't mean to start flamewars. As Leafy states in the video "he rarely picks on people who are under 18 for now on". And I don't even know why Ricegum still picks on cringy kids; like we fucking get it. Be greatful that they're so successful at such a young age. Not even gonna bring up Keemstar. All I'm gonna say that he's a prick who's a hypocrite to every satire channel. I really loathe him.
Don't correct me on this, but cyberbully channels are mainly what make up the entire youtube "society" (if you could call it that) today. What makes me unsupportive of these channels is the fact that they make money off of bullying helpless kids. That's messed up.
They mean it as a joke. RiceGum has mentioned shit tons of times in his videos that he's only joking.
Thing is, you can't really call them 'cyber bully channels' because they aren't. People like Leafy, Pyro, and Ricegum do it for entertainment for their fans like every other youtuber on this planet it just so happens that their type of content is reacting to the taboo people on the internet. It's the fans that 100% take it too far going out of the way to shame and harass the people that they're idols make video's on. Yes, what they say can be mean, but honestly they're saying their own opinions and posting them on the internet, it's not big deal. Now people like Keemstar take it way to far. Falsely "reporting" on people accusing them of being a child molester when they aren't, giving away people's info to a livestream, blatantly saying "fuck the fans" and the numerous times he has been caught saying racist remarks is not okay. There is a fine line between posting content meant for entertainment and harassing people and people like Leafy Pyro and RiceGum make sure not to cross. In conclusion, they're voicing they're opinions on other people which there is absolutely 100% nothing wrong with doing. It's alright to be saying the things that they are saying as long as they know (and they do) not to cross that line of stating your opinion and intentionally harassing people for personal gain.
**Just letting you know, @NekoSquishy I think you should of put 'some content' in the vote poll. Not all of Leafy/Pyro's content is great/not so great ;)
i honestly dont care, if something is funny or the channel is good I'm gonna watch it. idgaf what other people think
It is a joke, but it's highly unnecessary. Previously said, it also is what makes up the entire youtube "society." So there's nothing we can really do about it.
I honestly do not like any of these youtube channels, not one bit. Joke or not, its still messed up to belittle other people who are younger than you just to make a quick buck. It should be considered a vilation of youtube policies. These kids that they pick on never did a single thing to anyone and they still get hate and shame from Leafy and PyroCynical's shitty fanbase. Keemstar i absolutely LOATHE. He is the definition of a sociopath. I honestly think he should be landed in jail for Slandering and many of the other things he did on Drama alert. Basically what im trying to say is Joke or not, its still wrong. I dont like these channels and honestly never will.
They don't really bother me... I think they're entertaining to watch and most youtubers that make this type of content state in the video that it is either satire or a joke. Also, when they "attack" someone there is normally a reason. For example, the whole situation with Whitney Wisconsin. She was doing some pretty nasty stuff with dogs so Leafy made a video "attacking" her.
This is a quote from Leafy's channel info. He states he produces satire content. Satire is, quote Oxford Dictionary, "The use of humour, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people’s stupidity [...]." Yet again, you may ask the question: "What may satire do?", and there's a fine line between satire and being serious. Leafy has crossed the border, in my opinion, several times (e. g. Pokemon GO-Song Kid). They always do, it's satire. To conclude, I watch Leafy. Often. Yet I never agree with anything he says, especially if it's exessive harassment. These "Cyberbully"-channels can do their thing, until they cross the border between satire and seriousness.
