Harry never liked UHC and only added because someone had done a majority of it.

A game the owners [probably] like: KitPvP
A game the owners seem to not like: Sumo

    See the difference in maintenance?
If we let the owners implement what they like we're going to see better results

    I agree with this idea

There needs to be more of a connection from the administration to the community. I've been on multiple servers where this wasn't present and it made the server less fun for the community because they didn't have a say in what would be added/changed. This lead more and more people to get angry at the staff/admins because they felt like they were being ignored and that their suggestions didn't matter.

This is the idea that needs to be implemented. A connection between the players and the staff to make the server community friendly. How could this be called a community when the community itself doesn't have a say in what's happening. As an example, you're adding a new gamemode/minigame to the server, and you are deciding between 3 different things. A great thing to do would make a public announcement with a vote allowing the community to choose what gamemode is added. Even if the owners/staff dislike the gamemode, the majority of the community did which would make the community happier and feel less ignored, and make everyone feel included when choosing a new aspect of the server. The same goes for suggestions.

I do take suggestions sometimes and put them in my list of things to do, but they get added to the back of the list because there are other things with higher priority like adding a new minigame, etc.

Unfortunately, progress has been really slow because I was gone and also I have been really demotivated lately, especially after the failure that was UHC.

We'll add the new minigame soon hopefully, and then you'll see more new features rolling in after that. I have a huge list of things I can do so it's not like I don't know what to do.. It's just that you have to finish one thing before you get started on the next thing.

I can see that being a real reason, like you spent a lot of time to it but it was a failure that makes you more unsure and not motivated to be working on something new if it still happends.

Maybe recruiting devs isn't such a bad idea? Many of the community members know bukkit and recruiting some players for the dev team could speed this all along

Well if they're looking for a professonal level of games, they'll need people that's good at it and most of them aren't free, they cost a lot to hire and I don't they would like to waste money on it, if they know it can go downhill and then they've clearly wasted money on it, though it's a good idea but a few flaws, as most people are in the new coding and not expericed, like the professonal ones

I am willing to bet that some of this community would do it for free
