Metal Gear: Survive Rant.

Also, staff, I am not sure if I placed this thread on the right sub-forum, I was debating on putting it either in Other Games or of course General Discussion, so hopefully I did it right.

Welcome to another rant thread created by yours truly!
Today, I will be ranting about the shite-stain that Konami has announced, called Metal Gear: Survive.
I will list in order, how this thread will be built:

0. Introduction
1. The trailer.
2. My opinion on the trailer.
3. My opinion on the idea in general.

So let's get started shall we?

Remember kids, this is a Metal Gear trailer, so it is pretty violent for any younger kids looking at this thread at the moment.


So, if none of you want to watch the trailer, here is a quick breakdown of it.
The trailer starts off when Snake and his crew escape the base, "Militaire sans Frontières" and then the scene cuts to a soldier that was not able to get on the helicopter, gets sucked into an alternate universe. Once the soldier gets sucked in, he in in alternate universe to where zombies exist, and he finds three other 'universe-wrecked' soldiers to fight alongside him, (to kill zombies).

My opinion comrades?
It's complete pile of human turds.
Really, Konami? ... Alright, slow down me, I need to talk about the trailer, my opinion on the game will be here soon enough.
So, the trailer seems to look nice, but that is all I can give it really, everything else sucked.
I mean, Konami could have at least put a little effort into making the entire thing a bit more realistic, such as not being sucked into a portal to an alternate universe, but I will* let it slide because it is Metal Gear after all.
Anyway, after the soldier is sucked into the portal, he is immediately greeted by zombies, and then goes to miraculously find three other soldiers to fight alongside him, all while definately not sounding like another popular game and definately not by another popular gaming company at all.
*cough*Left 4 Dead*cough*
Then the rest of the trailer is killing zombies.


My opinion on the future game itself?
Well, if you have not already guessed it, I already hate it.
Metal Gear lost its charm when Konami fired Kojima, the mastermind behind the Metal Gear games, and essentially getting rid of their main source of income.
Already a terrible business move in general, and also pretty scummy because Konami is just a giant sellout, failing to see long-term success.
Now, they are releasing this, 'new "Metal Gear" game' that now includes zombies and the absence of the franchises mastermind, Kojima.
Let me address this now, alright?
Who thought it was a good idea to add zombies to a Metal Gear game?
Well, whoever did think of the idea just ruined the good name of their company, and the franchises already bad reputation, due to the previous installment of M.G.
There are already a crapton of games that include zombies, and to the point to where it is repetitive and boring at this point.
The companies still are trying to milk it for all its worth, even though they already did years back. Now it is a circlejerk of bad (zombie) games being made because they all have the same core idea, zombies!
There is only a few good zombie games in existence, and most of them were the orginal Call of Duty games and Left 4 Dead. (Of course there is more, but you get the point.)

Now, they really are scraping the barrel for some money now, and they're going to get it just because they slapped the name, 'Metal Gear' on the cover of the game. The game died when they fired Kojima, and they should not be ruining the franchises good name, or at least, Kojimas name.
I also heard that this game supports four-player co-op, which admittedly could be fun? But it still does not make it a Metal Gear game. It seems like the game is just going to be somethings that kills time.
Fair enough, but I am sure all of us can agree that the direction they are going in is a bad one, especially since they are trying to make money off the franchises popular name.

Epilogue:
So, from what I have gathered, I am anticipating a bad game, and I don't think anything is going to save the franchise now. That's my final word on this.

Konami is probably doing this just because the premise of the game itself (zombie survival) makes tons of profit, it's a bad move on their part, as any remaining loyal fans since Kojima's firing will have left by now, all the company is now is just another shitty profit pursuing game company.
