Eventually, when the server revamps and stuff, will we need to use 1.7 & up? I prefer it as of now, with both 1.6 & 1.7. Just wondering :P
Right now, the only reason we can use 1.7 is because of a proxy linking us to an actual 1.6 server. After the update, IF the server is updated to a full 1.7 server with the new items and whatnot, then yes, you will require the new client. Think about it this way: 1.7 has all the blocks that 1.6 does, but 1.6 does not have the blocks of 1.7, therefore a 1.7 server would not let you join with 1.6. Hope it helped!
