Do you support Brexit or wish to remain, state why you believe either one.
No flames, arguing, just state opinions.

I would much rather the U.K leave the E.U entirely.
Germany already has millions of refugees, and I do not want Britain to be pregnant with terrorism either.
Not saying that 100% of the refugees are terrorists, but it's garunteed that at least <1% of them are terrorists being snuck in by terrorist groups.

Also, the British pound could potentially be better than the Euro.
    In my opinion.

Let's wait until the United Kingdom falls apart. Scotland already announced a new independence referendum, because they want to remain in the EU. 80% of their people voted against the Brexit.

This was the worst decision ever for many reasons.

    • The EU will practically go to shit.
    • Britain will also go to shit.
    • Nobody will want to trade as much with Britain.
    • The argument of giving £350 million to the EU was a shit argument to leave because leaving will make them lose more than £350 million on taxes and trade tariffs.
    • The £350 million that was going to be saved was going to go to the NHS for better healthcare but once the results came out, that promise was backtracked so things are already starting to turn to shit.
    • Travelling to Britain will be a pain.
    • Boris Johnson takes over as PM retrospectively and having him run the country is even worse.
The only thing is that more jobs will be supplied to the civilians from the UK. Immigration is going to be a lot harder which can work in their favour. But in the long run, I don't see this lasting and they can't go back to the EU as it's impossible.

Scotland and Northern Ireland will most likely leave the UK and join the EU as seperate nations. But Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland could reunite to form a united Ireland for the first time in years YEEE.

I feel like the reason for the outcome is largely because people want fewer refugees, not really looking at economic factors.

Personally, I wished to remain in the EU but clearly because of the silly uneducated people, they've all voted out because of the refugee/immigrant "crisis" like Jerry said. They didn't even bother to take in to count any of the other factors, such as our economy and trading with other parts of the world (Europe will gain more money etc and now that we're independent we won't)

David Cameron's even resigning from Prime Minister, which although is a good thing because he's awful, we're most likely going to end up with an even worse Prime Minister such as Boris Johnson. Basically, Boris just wanted the UK to leave the EU so he could take Cameron's job. All he's been doing for the past 6 weeks is chatting random shit - the guy is nuts and I pray he never is PM.

BUT, there is a petition that's started on the government website and has literally exploded and gotten over 100,000 signatures within 2 hours
    Article: https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/683115/Brexit-petition-EU-vote-Remain/amp
    Petition: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/131215
So hopefully this petition takes in to place and we can join back the European Union soon. I don't know though, I'm just putting my two cents in here because I like the topic.
    Nice thread.

The reason why so many people voted to go out, is because they don't want their country to be commanded by the EU. People would rather deal with an independent economy rather than be connected to the EU.

I actually want to point out that this referendum is not binding in itself. If they -really- wanted to the House of Commons could block the exit of the EU, although this would be an extremely unpopular and undemocratic move.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is the end of the EU as something that the smaller nations want to be involved in, and it will be interesting to see if Scotland and Northern Ireland leaves the UK.

Britain's economy won't decrease, just look at the richest countries in Europe. 4/5 of the richest countries in europe are out of the EU; Switzerland, Norway, Monaco & Liechtenstein. Also, I expect Scotland will probably leave the UK, and possibly NI will leave too, but the UK will stay be powerful without both of these countries and the EU. However, one thing we should do is have a similar thing to the EU, with probably the other anglo-saxon countries (USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand.) In the UK, people are calling people who vote leave "heartless" or "they would kill people for money" just because they think our tax dollars are better spent on our healthcare and education to giving the EU money.

Secondly, remember how WW2 started? Germany wanted too much power, they got too greedy and started a war. This is the same, Germany is the head of EU and is getting so much money from the other countries for being the leaders on the EU. The UK is not going to lose money.

We spent our whole French lesson on this.
    It was ace.
    1. You will find that the available people to run for PM are Borros ( BAFOON ) Johnson and The guy who made all of our GCSE's a lot harder, because of him we know have to sit 4 French exams and do NO coursework, in stead of only doing two and getting a lot of course work. Both are an inadequate choice.
    2. David Cameron did the right thing, he knew it was better to resign ( much to our dismay ) rather than try and fight a battle that he would've lost. He did it for the country, not for himself.
    3. Our GBP has already lost rank, decreasing by 7%, this means that we will get paid the same amount of money while everything gets more expensive.
    4. Our Rights are now being re-negotiated, as whilst part of the EU we had them and they were perfect.
    5. The trade market will now suffer because of our leave, we will not be able to get back into business as well as we used to.
    6. Michael Farage promised to give 60(?)million to the NHS to go toward healthcare, then denied it on public television.
    7. Jeremy Corbin is being voted out ( YES )
    8. The majority of people who voted out were old, they didn't realise that the change would affect the young generation, as they will be dead in some years.
    9. Our 'GREAT BRITIAN.' Clearly isn't great, Scotland now want back in the EU, to be independent, which is the second time this year ( this is upsetting for me and half of my family is Scottish and live there )
    10. Passport control
    11. We don't get funded for tuition in the EU anymore.
    12. We're falling to pieces
    13. The people in charge have NO IDEA what they are doing.

Short answer is that I am leaning Brexit, but because of the economic consequenses, I probably would not vote.

I'd like to point some things out:
    1. The EU does not function well when it is needed (Also explained above)
    2. It's burocratic and undemocratic
    3. You don't need to be right-wing or left-wing to vote leave or stay.

    1. I think that everyone understands EU could function better. All the different countries agreeing with each other take a long time, definetelly on big issues like the climate crisis. Being unanimous seems to be too hard and the EU doesn't seem to work quickly when needed.

The vote really is just about this: 'The European union works good enough or even great, I'm doing fine.' VS 'I'm willing to take a risk in the hope of getting something better out of it.'
So it's just all about your mentality really, my feeling is that the EU doesn't work the way it wants/is intended to work, and the EU should drastically chance. If the EU cannot chance itself (which I think is the case), then a Brexit seems to be the only solution.

    2. One simply doesn't like the fact that someone they haven't voted for in Brussels decides about their taxes and other policies. You don't have to be a strong nationalist to think that (I'm not nationalistic at all.), you just have to like being represented in a fair manner. But how big do you think that this problem is? Is it a big problem? -> Exit the EU, Is it a not-so big problem? -> Remain in the EU.

    3. As I am a green cactus, I will probably vote for the Green Party in the Netherlands the first election I can. That party is arguebly the most pro-immigration out of all major parties here. Yet, if I had to decide between the Netherlands staying or leaving the EU, I'd vote leave.
This is the same thing with millions of Brittains. Leaving is not all about being anti-immigration and staying is not all about the economy. Thus, the whole brexit thing isn't about right-wing vs left-wing, it goes beyond that.

    So that's that.

Personally I think Brexit was a bad idea. We can all hear the pounds dropping and the market crashing.
Even with the petition, I don't think they can hold another referendum.
Future generations will probably study Brexit the way we study the Nazis and things like that today lol

Also I heard Sarah Palin said that the USA should leave the UN.

The main reason why the pound's exchange rate is falling is because right now, companies are not investing in the UK, however, give it some time, and it will recover quickly, as the firms will soon reinvest in the UK, we've seen this specific situation happen to other countries, where it looks like they will enter a recession, but suddenly bounce back to stable economic growth.
