Warning, this is of course my opinion, so I would consider this your only warning. Because a lot of you will disagree with me. (I want to point out the fact that I am obviously a human, thus capable of making mistakes, but what I am about to say I have confidence that I am right, but still wanted to point this out in case of the latter, so if your going to disagree with me, try to at least be civil, even if I am completely wrong in your eyes) Alright, so I believe everyone here is familiar with LGBT+ and Islam. That is what I am here to talk about today my friends, so let's get right into it. Now before I start this, keep in mind I am using an IPod. I will edit this later once I can get ahold of my IPad. I am also sure all of you have heard of the phrase, "Islam is a religion of peace". Hold it, let me continue. I can confidently say that, obviously, not all Muslims are bad, and definately not terrorists. I will only touch this briefly, because I do not need much time to explain this anyway. What I am here to say though, is while Islam is not something people should not go out of their way to bash, or label it as "violent", it holds an extreme double-standard that nobody has even payed attention to. Before I point that out, I need to explain something else. I am sure all of you have also heard that, supposedly, Christians often discriminate against Muslims. While that there is some Christians that do infact, automatically dislike Muslims just because of their religion, this does not mean that all do. I think you guys know where this is going by now, but I'm not done. There is a absolutely huge double-standard here. I will point it out now. While people, including the mainstream media, can openly say that Christians discriminate against Muslims, but when it the other way around, you are automatically an Islamaphobe! It is to the point where I do not even have to give any examples myself on how it is this way, but I want every one of you, even if you don't agree with me, think about this for a second. I'm not done yet. Christians over in the Middle East suffer from heavy persecution, some even being imprisoned. Especially Muslims who happen to convert, they get it the worst, they have to fear their countries just because of their religion. (And local criticism) However people are still saying that Christians are the ones discriminating against Islam. Once again, I have another point to make here. This discrimination is only being mentioned in the free world. (Mainly in America and Europe) Everyone in the free world has right to believe in any religion they want to without persecution by the government, which it has been for years. It would be stupid to say that discrimination does not happen, but the thing is, over here in the free world, it is almost completely verbal, while over in the Middle East, it is verbal, and physical. (And no, I am not referring to terrorist groups when I say physical, I mean in general) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LGBT Double Standard. Now, this part needs almost no explaining, but I will still point out a few things that need to be said. What I hear all the time is that Christians supposedly judge the LGBT community because it goes against their religion. (While it does speak out against being gay, it does not however say to go out and judge them for being so, and those that do judge gays are hypocrites) Now, it is also stupid to say there is no Christians that discriminate against gays, which some do, but it is also the other way around. I would call it a vicious cycle really. Not to any surprise, if someone is being discriminated against, they will go out and discriminate themselves. That applies here also. Fin, for now. ~Venom.
This is what people need to know, it never is just one way, discrimination goes both ways, no exceptions.
I do have to agree with you on the part about LGBT discrimination, how a lot of the time it goes both ways. It's basically the same principle for whites/PoC, The rich/the poor, Democrats/republicans, basically every opposite that we can think of. I guess that's just how society works.
I think part of the problem is that conservative people like Ted Cruz were appealing to Christianity when whining about LGBTQ+ marriage last year in an attempt to satisfy the very small sector called the "evangelicals" but this was obviously dumb because it disavowed separation of church and state and people got pissed off to the point where any conservative was assumed an evangelical if they did not support gay marriage. But honestly, I don't know of any justification for protection of traditional marriage besides religion. Here's another mind-blowing double standard, since it's parallel to the topic. There are some people that: a) are against gun control because the majority of gun owners do not kill people. b) support banning Muslim immigration because a minority of Muslims cause terrorist attacks (of which most were citizens). Notice I didn't mention Donald Trump because it is recently apparent that he is more centrist on gun control. Also, many people are anti-gun control and anti-Muslim for slightly different reasons. I am not including those people. But this double standard exists, so I really had the urge to add it.
