Just a discussion

To say that suicide rates are higher in the Transgender community doesn't make sense to me. Because black people are half as likely to commit suicide over whites yet are suppressed and judged way more. Suicide rates and depression might just be a sign that something is wrong with them mentally if you wouldn't take everything so offensively. People who say they are mentally ill might just want to help their safety.

 

There should be no endangerment. They are normal people that present no harm to anyone nor should anyone present harm to them if they are more accepting.

 

Except they are committing suicide more than any other group of people. They are harming people.

 

Maybe it's because other people are harming them first physically and emotionally. Stop blaming them when it's clearly parts of society's fault for making them feel insecure.

This started back in the 1800s, so it's not exactly a "new" thing. Of course, it's more common now than ever due to three major factors:
1) Beliefs have changed
Belief it or not, things are not the same as they were. People got killed and put in mental asylums for simply identifying as the opposite gender. Now, the worst you'll get is possible social shame and maybe things slightly extreme, but nothing that should, you know, harm your life.
2) There are more people
There are more people on the Earth now than then making it seem easier to find transgenders. Of course rates have risen and all, making that true.
3) We don't have to worry
Ahem, when was the last time you had to worry for your life in a disastrous war, plague, or inexplicable deaths? People used to have to worry about their families well-being more than what meaningless label was put on them.

BTW, you don't need technology to change genders. You only need that to change your sex, but I get what you meant.

 

When Blacks were being discriminated against in the 1960's they didn't have depression and suicide rates this high.And back then it was way worse! People would be beaten, sprayed down by hoses, forced to use separate water fountains, couldn't go to the same school. So don't say that their depression is solely because of us because many others have had it way worse but have fought through it. Im just saying there is a correlation to their depression and being transgender.

Thats extremely new if you actually think about how long humans have been around. Thats only 200 years ago.

 

There are of course pieces of evidence that go further back that shouldn't be ignored. I just went to provide the newer info. Who knows, maybe instead of, you know, trying to kill a huge mammalian creature, they worried about their junk. Maybe they didn't even know what a female or male role was. Possibly they thought that God's had a 50/50 chance to give them their "probably-not-private-parts".

 

Can someone please answer this question. If one can solely just say "I am a woman" and become a woman even though they have all male parts then what is the point of even having gender anymore. That concept means that anyone can change their gender in an instant whenever they want. They can use whichever restroom or changing room they want. They can put whatever sex they want on their passport or drivers license. It doesn't matter. Anyone can choose whatever gender they want at anytime which means gender itself becomes pointless. And if you can tell me otherwise then please do.

But right now what the LGBT+ community is really fighting for is to make Gender and Sex non existent and irrelevant which it shouldn't be.

 

Exactly, I've seen many people trying to tear down the concept of gender and sex. Why would people even do that? Gender and sex are important concepts in our society, and they have existed as long as life has.

It's because trans people are more alone irl . Most of the connections are made on the internet like this website. However, in the real world most people encountered are not trans and it's easy to feel alone . There were so many more African Americans. African Americans had many others to speak with and help them through times of trouble. And trans get beaten too.

The 1800s are not really new. 200 Years ago there were no cars, planes, and trains had barely been invented. No internet, no computers, etc. No important world wars, no automatic weapons, no PTSD. May be relatively new, but it's hella old.

It's not though? Why would you need proof? Thousands of people can't all be jacked up in the head. That's just illogical.

 

Actually that can happen and is happening. Heard of high-functioning autism, depression, anxiety, Down syndrome, or more? It's not illogical, it happens right now. Now, proof?
