I'm not really a proud Saudi.

Saudi arabia has ruined the image of Islam. They are spreading extremism and terrorism across the world, they're encouraging wahhabism across every Islamic country.

And, stop calling Saudis terrorists. We are not terrorists. We did not cause '9/11'. People accuse us saudis for 9/11 just to sue us so they can make more money. The Saudi government has no reason to attack their so called 'ally'.

And by the way, our economy is not going to crash. Ever heard of vision 2030? Mohammad bin Sulman has a lot of plans in the future, and the 'green card' is one of them.

As for the human rights issue, i agree. I myself don't experience the harsh law since I live in a private compound.
It isn't. The media are just making things up.

The religious police are also no longer able to arrest anyone, they can't do anything anymore, which means we have more freedom.

long story short, the saudis are not bad people, but the royal family is.

While this only accounts for Dubai so far, it is worth noting that other parts of the country that are gaining popularity (such as Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, etc.) so this may be true rather soon.

However, I do agree that as of now, Saudi Arabia's economy is far too reliant on oil. Like Dubai, they need to find other reliable and renewable sources of income, such as tourism. But because of how the country is being run people are generally against the idea (the laws and amount of freedom people have aren't very likeable). Maybe this will slowly lead to the changing of their laws?

That's not my point. My point is that not all of the golf countries are dying like people are stating in this thread. Most of them are in fact getting better and better. The UAE is known as a tourist spot because of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Qatar is going to thrive because of the world cup, people are eventually going to begin moving to live there, and come work there because there are so many job opportunities and it's a baby country. Saudi Arabia, like I said, is so overstated everywhere in the media. It's not as bad as people make it to be. Plus, it's also known as a tourist spot because of Mecca, and the Kabba. I don't see any of the countries' economies dying down anytime sooner than any other country. Most of them seem to run on oil and gas, and that's because of where they are located but there is so much more to all of them than seen.
[Besides the countries with war-like troubles.]

"comment below as you please." I'ma have my go. (sorry for any cussing)
    okokokokok.
    Listen.
Snowmen, cat pictures and chess are all not affiliated with Islam or anything, it's stupid that they banned these things (I don't know if they actually did). Alright? Now hold up, what does being allies with the US have to do with something that is only affecting the country. OMG THEY BANNED SNOWMEN?! WE DONT WANT TO BE ALLIED WITH THESE MONSTERS. I mean come on, you actually don't want to be allied or whatever just because they ban a bunch of stuff that you can freely do in the US, as far as I know you don't live in KSA so why are you so worried? Nevertheless, if you're an atheist that's cool, do you man don't do what others want you to do, but tell me how does that affect your life, that a country you're not affiliated with calls atheists "terrorists"? I'm a Muslim okay? As far as I know A LOT of Americans (and other countries) call Muslims terrorists, I'm not bothered tho am I? I could give two shits about it, because I know what my true religion does and it does not support terror. Everybody gets called a terrorist these days, welcome to life buddy. Let's be real here, America does not really care about KSA they just want their best oil suppliers to keep supplying oil, it's pretty obvious, I do agree with you on how it's stupid these bans are, but I'm pissed at the fact that you are SO concerned about it and it does not affect your life not a single bit. So what if "America is allied with these guys" do you want oil or not? Do you want your country (It's my country too because I was born there) to stay at its optimum? Let's not bring up the fact of bombing okay? Also let's not forget what America has done to Hiroshima, okay? Because that is just double standards. I respect your opinions about this, and do not intend to start anything right now, I'm just stating my opinion as well. I hope that you do know ISIS and Al Qieda have nothing to do with Islam just like the KKK has nothing to do with Christianity. That's not the topic tho, I just want you to open up your mind and stop listening to Fox News because most of what they say isn't true. Snowmen will not destroy your life, so don't worry. I can't stress enough about the times you've said "allied" SO freaking what? You're living your life normally and because of KSA and USA being allied you're living a better life, because they give so much to America you wouldn't believe it....
As I've said, just stating my opinion, I respect yours and do not to intent to start anything.
    Have a nice day.

    Edit:
.@MarcovTheHusky What do you mean "a country that supports terrorism" the US does that too, the US government literally finance ISIS and terrorist groups, have you been hiding under a rock? It's 2016 you should know that the so called "country that does not stand for terrorism" also do terror stuff. Don't think like Trump, he literally thinks America is the shit and no other country is better or free. A lot of countries support terror that you don't know of.
    Only stating opinions here.

Alright, this is a rant, so I will put it all in a spoiler, I am pretty salty.
Saudi Arabia... The (one of)kings of corruption if I say so myself.
To me, the government is a complete joke. It is foolish to think that they are the good guys, judging by what they have done in the past, which I do not even have to mention.
Muslims are alright, but if any of you guys who even know a single shite about this world, is that the Middle East is in a complete and utter pit of corruption, ISIS's very existence proves it.
Terrorism is a terrible thing, and I get that most Muslims are not terrorists alright?
But the actual terrorists are doing unspeakable things, which I will obviously not mention, but their very existence in the world is disgusting. Saudi Arabia is only our 'friend' because they get something out of it, and the U.S is only in it for the oil. Judging by their actions, the government is full of barbarians who do not give a single crap for their citizens at all.

If you are a Muslim, that's alright, 'ight?
But the stuff the Saudi government does is the opposite of good, and if anyone disagrees with me. PM me, I would rather not discuss it on this thread.
Let me put some actual points in this post alright?
    1. The governments in the Middle East are corrupt.
    image.jpeg

    2. The U.S should not be affiliated with them because they are not in any way relatable in indealogy, government, or anything else.
If any of you got triggered by this post, remember you clicked on the spoiler, not me.
Now, if this post starts a flame war I will simply delete this post on the spot.

It's the media brainwashing these idiots

First off mate, ISIS are not associated with saudi arabia, they are assossiates with the goverment because it's corrupt, you are educating yourself from the media which is filling your head with a bunch of baloney. They didn't ban any of the stuff in the name of Islam, Islam didn't say ban pokemon, Sha'riah ( islamic law ) didn't say ban chess, Islam has nothing to do with this. What witchcraft public executions? We ain't playing darksouls 2. Stop watching these jihadi stuff, goto an islamic temple or scholar and truly educate yourself smartass. ISIS aren't muslims, don't even go there so ISIS may use the name of Islam but they aren't part of it. You don't even know what you're saying, you're just saying the same shit over with a bunch of random shit from shit sources.

i've been to saudi, the only freedom
Rights "banned" is just general stric shar'iah, it's not my fualt your friend isn't compatible with islamic rules

So? What's this got to do with your original point, stop contradicting yourself buddy.

Saudi is an islamic country so it abides to strict islamic rules, in the western society/culture not many muslims act upon shar'iah because it isn't forced. if he doesn't want to abide by strict islamic rules so be it. Also i'm done debating with you because it's like playing chess with a pigeon and no matter how much the pigeon loses it will still shit on the board and strut around like it won anyway.

It isn't the media, I know someone who moved out of Saudi Arabia, and he stated that they banned certain freedoms, and he hated living there.

ISIS may not be associated with the general government of Saudi Arabia, but there are a few corrupt individuals in the government who work in the interests of radical groups. Not to mention, Saudi Arabia accepted absolutely no refugees from Syria, forcing them to migrate to Europe.

"isn't compatible with islamic rules." He's a muslim, he moved from Saudi to India, he and a few of his friends who also moved out stated that Saudi tends to hide their firm hold on civilians from tourists, foreigners, etc.

I don't think you can even debate properly, you seem to lose your temper and start insulting the opponent.

Actually, it's the opposite, the low oil prices are because the US has such an abundance of oil. Do you know what happened to Nigeria? It's an oil dependent economy, and because of such low prices, the economy has failed in the country, because their main industry has become so cheap. It is in fact American oil companies enjoying the increase in demand of oil in the US, not the Middle East. If you pick up an economics textbook and analyze the situation, you'll see that Middle East economies are being hurt by the low oil prices.

Sorry but this is just not even close to correct. You realize that the middle east, and mainly Saudi Arabia, control the oil prices. They were the ones who lowered the prices of oil to hurt america's economy. Because the middle east has such an abundance of oil they have the ability to lower their prices without having huge problems but for the American companies who try and go fracking for oil, they don't have much oil and so they can't lower their prices as much. Because of the lower gas prices American Oil companies are getting hurt bad while Middle east countries are just fine. And very soon the prices will shoot back up. Also we don't have the technology yet to sustain enough renewable energy to replace gas or oil. So America will be dependent on their oil for quite some more time. So its not Saudi Arabia getting hurt by these oil prices but the United States.

Also they are banning snowmen? Does it even snow in the middle east?!

    Rant Incoming

Ok sorry but after thinking about it this thread is really stupid. Not to be too rude but its really childish to say the United States should no longer be allies with a country because they banned Pokemon. Like who the hell cares? How will that affect the United States AT ALL!? Also this thread is hypocritical to call out Saudi Arabia's dumb laws because you want to know something? The United States also has dumb laws! Here are some examples
    1. You can be fined if you are found harassing Big Foot

    2. You cant sell toothpaste and a toothbrush to the same person on a Sunday.

    3. Its illegal to hold hands in School.

So should people not be allies with us because of these laws? Also with them arming terrorist groups do you mean on purpose? Because the United States it one main reason why the Middle East is currently filled with terrorist. Anyways rant over.

You don't need an economic textbook to realize that the Middle east and Saudi Arabia have more oil then the United States and control the market. The US doesn't have an abundance of oil?! And if they do can you tell me where we are getting it from? Why do you think that the United States control the oil market? Its not our main export and so many countries have more oil then us.

Alright, alright, time to end this thread. It's not that I don't like what any of you are saying or something like that, those who disagreed with me have made some pretty good points, I'll admit. But, I saw a reoccurring arguement, and either ya'll aren't getting what I said; or, you're white-knighting it like it's fucking reddit. Probably both.

Now, to make the main point again, I don't believe that the US should be allied with SA because SA is the complete opposite of what the US represents. Have we been in line with what we're supposed to represent? No, no where near close. America is supposed to be seen as, no matter where you come from, or what your job is, or your hobbies and traditions, you will be treated fairly and you're free to do whatever you want(as long as it doesn't harm others). Again, we are nowhere near that representation, and it has a lot to do with internal politics, but that's a different story.

And while alot of you just like, misunderstood, some of ya'll tried to white-knight it more than Ulfric Stormcloak and The Markarth incident(Kudos to anyone who gets the reference). Ya'll used like, 1 example of mine, and blew it up. That's honestly a really petty thing to do. There's a difference between debunking a post and white-knighting it, and ya'll white-knighted.

Oh well, it was an interesting thread.
