Public Speaking Tips??

Rehearse, but not right before you do it because you'll most likely stumble across your words. Make sure you're ready to go the night before.
When you go to do it, everything you see, make sure it makes you smile. I used to be afraid of doing performances and public speaking but every time I saw something that made me nervous, I'd either laugh it off or smile because it would make me happier and less focused on the fact that I'm nervous.

 

Imagine anyone watching is something rude or funny :) just breath, try and include maybe some jokes ( if allowed ) to feel looser, smile :)

 

When I have to speak publicly, I do it with different things/people in front of me. Let me explain.
First, I would do it in front of some stuffed animals to make sure I don't stumble over my words or anything. Then I do it in front of my dog or cat to see if I capture their attention. Then after that, I practice in front of my mom so I actually get feedback on how I did.

I've never been afraid of public speaking, so I can't really relate but I do have some facts that may help.

1. If this is in a classroom situation and not American Idol situation, no body is judging you as much as you might think. Most people in the class while listening to others presentations are either a) bored out of their mind and not paying attention to you or b) thinking too much about when they have to present.

2. When people get nervous, they tend to talk a lot faster. This may cause confusion and will make people feel worse because they can't think fast enough about what the presenter is saying. As a tip, record yourself doing the presentation, and listen to it afterwards to check your talking speeds and tone of voice. It's better to speak as if you have a lot of interest in what you're saying rather than a monotone voice.

3. Practice! Nothing is worse than realizing that you're not as prepared as you thought you were. Start with speaking in front of a camera and viewing your own video and asking for improvement or self-assessing your presentation. Then move onto your family or a small group of friends. Then the idea of speaking in front of a whole class won't seem so scary.

Might be a little hard to do this, but speak louder than normal.
Helps a lot when everyone can hear you.

 

Take your time. Breathe. Talk how you usually do for a couple of people but just alter it so it caters for more people by speaking louder, just as Saul said above.
Don't look at anyone in the eyes. It can put you off what you're saying.

Practice. Relax. And keep calm. Dont speak to fast. Speak loud and clear. If you can handle it. Smile before your presentation. Walk up. Look up smiling. After each slide (if doing presentation) smile if you can. I got 5 points extra credit in english presentation for it. I would write your presentation a note card. So you dont have to look back at your presentation.

Summing it up.
Take a breath.
Dont speak fast. Loud and clear.
Smile when you can.
Remain calm
Dont laugh after that it goes down hill.

Yes you need to know your stuff- that's self explanatory. But if you are calm, you have a lesser chance to mess up. And that is also the usual thing that happens to everyone- do not panic. Keep it cool, and you will do well. As for memorizing, be careful. If you know something too well, you may begin to speed up. Before you start, take a deep breath, and begin confidently.
