Ok, ok. This thread is a bit of a rant thread, so just take most of what I say with a grain of salt(While still listening), will ya? Thanks.

So, holy fuck, Saudi Arabian Authorities have nailed it, once again. Recently what they have done is banning their residents from taking cat pictures because cat pictures are "too western". There is just - so much wrong with that. So much. Now, before @Unit50079 takes that "other countries" arguement(kappa), the only reason I'm ripping Saudi off in this thread is because America is still allies with them.

And this isn't the first thing they've banned. Back in late January, Chess and Pokemon were banned by Saudi officials. Just a week or so before that, they banned SNOWMEN. All in the name of the islam.

Are you fucking kidding me? Look, as an athiest, I look at all religions in an observant way and how it changes people. And, as far as I can tell, the book religions(Judism, Islam, Christianity, ect.) have the same effect on people, which, generally, encourages overall love and respect for everyone, from strangers to family and friends. Now, this is all the "western world" that I've observed. I haven't had much exposure to the people in places such as the middle east, asia, or oceania, so pardon me if some of the things I mention is innacurate in those areas.

But, considering Saudi is a US ally, they get covered alot in our media, and they do some garbage shit, ok. Now, I'm not an idiot, The US is with Saudi to protect our oil suppliers. But, these cancerous social "reforms" are only the beginning. SA(Saudi Arabia, I'm tired of typing it out every time I address them in this thread) has done things such as calling all athiests and agnostics "terrorists", and running a bombing campaign on Yemen where they didn't even try to strike enemy camps(Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure they also bombed a school for the blind). They arm more syrian rebels, which, in turn, creates more terrorist groups(Al Quieda & ISIS are prime examples). And, finally, they still do public executions for witchcraft. WHAT. Again, The US has an allyship with these guys. When will we put our foot down?

Overall, SA Gov is just being fucking stupid. Look, I've got no problem with laws based on religion to an extent, and I'll forgive them for laws based on religion, but banning things like cat pictures because they are "too western" shows how backwards these people are in relation to most of the internet, Europe, and especially America. Again - The US is ALLIED with them. Drive that point into your thick skulls, and look at the sample of laws and bans I've shown you in Paragraph 4. Answer the poll, or comment below as you please.

    Thank you for reading,
    ~Morcov.

Don't worry, with the glut of oil, and the extremely low oil prices, Saudi's economy will crash. Within the next few decades, US's reliance on renewable energy will increase, so US will not be reliant on Saudi Arabia as much anymore, and their economy will crumble into oblivion.

And tone it down before the terrorists put you on their kill list.

Again, please remember that the US is allied with SA only for the oil. If anything, SA is the complete opposite of what the US stands for. SA has a single-religious(sunni islamic) government, which runs off an autocracy, helped create terrorists, and is even suspected of helping Al-Qaeda do 9/11.
Now if you fucking ask me, these fucking dumbass shits in our government is basically betraying their own country, by siding and protecting the Saudi Arabia. They are the opposite of us, and we can get what they are offering elsewhere, The US should pull out of SA, leave them to fend for themselves, and help a more moderate group, such as the kurds(just as an example). If not, let's just not support anyone in the middle east, and either pull out or hunt ISIS ourselves. I myself have had enough of these god damn cold war games.

Gotta keep on that black gold(oil) all we care about. If the middle east had nothing we'd never be over there making friendzies with them.

There are innocent people who live in Saudi Arabia and in the Middle East as a whole! Unit, do you actually want the country's economy to crash!? That's just evil, come on man.
Perc, I recall you saying you have Lebanese roots. I may be wrong, but don't you think that with the power that the United States has, they can help and fix things in there instead of leaving everybody to die? :/

I may have been a bit harsh, but my driver is from Saudi, and he says he didn't like living there, people had certain freedoms taken away, and a small crime can lead to a huge, harsh, unfair punishment, Saudi's punishment is worse than Singapore's.

I didn't say it's a good place to live in, I certainly think it isn't, but I don't want innocent people in there to live in poverty because of a failed economy.

The thing is, ultimately, it will become a failed economy, look at the oil prices, and look what happened to Nigeria, which is also dependent on selling g oil, in Nigeria, the economy has literally come to a halt, cities are without power, people are moving out, absolutely zero business, it's an omen for what will happen in the gulf countries.

You still make it out to be worse than it is because some people are happy living there. It's a country dedicated to a religion and people are there because of that.

Also, the gulf countries? Lmao, I lived in Qatar which is the richest country in the world and they are having the 2020 FIFA world cup there. Nothing is going down hill, in fact, it literally barely has any crime. The worst I've ever heard of there is a car accident and that literally happens everywhere. They're a growing country and they are rich as hell, nothing is wrong with it.

Some golf countries might be going down hill, but not all of them.

The gulf countries' main income comes from the rich source of natural resources in the area, but it is running out. Eventually something will need to be changed. I've heard Bahrain is already working on new solutions for the problem.

Yes, I do have Lebanese roots, and ofcourse I believe that the U.S. should set an example for the world in means of kindness and supportive, why wouldn't I? But, The idea of an allyship is to team up with people of similar ideology, backgrounds, cultures, ect. And, America shares little to none with the Saudis, especially the government. I'm not saying that we can't be "trade partners" or that we have to set embargos or tariffs on them, or stop our companies from starting joints in their country, but why should we be an ally? Why should we protect only 1 country that's an "ally", despite them also helping terrorism, and shitting on almost everything America stands for?

As for pulling out our Military, that is beingseen as a valid solution in our politics. America right now is in a recession, and we are failing miserably compared to other western countries. We have too many internal conflicts ranging from toilet wars to money out of congress. Sometimes, a country needs to go into isolation, and put it's own problems before others. I get that you dont have that luxury because the problems are right at your doorstep, but we've been going through neighborhoods trying to solve problems while our own home is worn and damaged.

Not really. Look at the UAE. Less than 20% of their revenue comes from oil, and that number is decreasing every year. Even by the time the Persian Gulf's oil runs out, their economy will be running without selling oil, and they still don't have any taxes. Other Gulf countries are catching up too, like Qatar.

If you ask me, the Gulf countries are doing an amazing job at lowing their dependency on oil. Even if Saudi Arabia runs out of oil, they can still make plenty of money off of pilgrims going to Mecca.

I just looked this up and most of the sources I found stated that most of the UAE's revenue comes from oil and gas.
Maybe you found something more accurate, that's just me lol

    Think again.

I know a lot about the country as I live there.

UAE before its discovery of oil, they relied on pearls, where the gulf is, there were many many pearls that they lived off of. People went pearl diving they would say. The 7 Emirates Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Fujairah, Sharjah, Dubai, Ras al-Khaimah and Umm al-Qaiwain were all famous for its pearls. In-fact, the country is so grateful, pearls were the start of UAE. After the oil boom that occurred in Abu Dhabi, Fujairah, And Sharjah, UAE has expanded even more.

Pearls were the start of UAE, they lived off of it before the oil boom
