    Hello.

I would like to address an issue that has been going on in this community since it started but has grown a recently: Drama.

Even though I know this thread will cause drama, I will still post it because something has to be said about it..

I will not really go in depth about drama, because I think you guys all know what it is as that point, but here's a little example what drama is on J&H:
In the end of 2013/early 2014 there was a lot of drama on the j&h community until our former administrator @RobyNub1337 made this thread enforcing a new rule.
That new rule really scared players and the drama stopped by let's say 90%; players thought twice before posting a new post or thread.

But I feel that since, drama has regrown a lot. Demotions, people "exposing people", people calling out "like farming" and "post farming", PAPOY, permbans, etc. Every single one of those things are causing bad drama, people starting to hate each other, etc.

Now that you have an idea of what drama is and examples of how it has regrown, I would like to ask something to the IJAH community.

We all need to stop. It is enough. I'm not saying that we shouldn't be giving out our opinions because that's apart of freedom of speech, but we need to stop 1. judging other people because of their opinions, 2. ranting about random useless stuff, 3. being toxic.

    I won't go around mini-modding the forums
asking people to stop every time I see something potentially drama-inducing. I'm not staff, and it it not my job to decide what the rules should be, but please, make an effort.

Let's not forget what we are at the beggining; we're a Minecraft server. We're a minecraft server and we know almost all of each-other. We aren't youtube. We have like ~50-100 active members on the forums and what ~1500 active members on the server. Starting rumors and bashing each other with rocks won't help anything on the server.

A lot of people are guilty, I know I am, and I'm trying to make an effort to change and be less toxic, and we all should try to make an effort to end drama on J&H because it is slowly killing the server.

Do you want to give your opinion about something? Be delicate. No need to be harsh against a certain person, or hate them because they don't think like you. I know not being delicate & being harsh is something a lot of people do naturally (look at what I do lol), but read your post twice before posting it.

Don't like how something works about the community? That's alright! We all have different opinions. But do not post a ranting thread, unless if you really thought about it. Think if it's really that much of a big issue worth ranting about. If it is, write a part of your thread, save it on a txt file, reopen that txt file a few days later and 1. see if you still feel the same way you did when first writing the thread. 2. reread it and see if it sounds harsh. if it sounds harsh, rewrite it in a more calm way.
If 1 and 2 are okay, you can post the thread safely.

I will not go around minimodding and forcing you to do what I said in this thread, but if we all make an effort, I'm sure that one day drama will be way less common on J&H and we'll be all happy again. I am guilty, a lot of people are. Remember what we are: we are a minecraft server community based of a youtube channel that makes fun of farts and poop.

Thanks for taking your time reading this thread. If you have anything to add, I welcome you to add it in the comments.

The staff cut the warning points in half because the warning system itself was changed when there was an increase in the time duration of punishments. About the same ban time is awarded today with 5 as it was with 10 in the past.

Two months is when the warning wears off, not the length of ban. About two weeks should be the ban.

I agree completely. The drama has to end.
I think that if people were respectful to one another and looked at the good things in one another, rather than being so critical of each other then it would be a much nicer place. Being kind to someone can really make a difference in someone's day.
It's a lot easier to just forgive and move on rather than to spend your time and energy hating someone and talking about them. We've all been talked about behind our backs and it's not a good feeling when you find out. If you don't like someone, the best thing to do is to keep it to yourself or stay away from them.
I've been involved in a lot of drama and it's not fun. It's best to stay out of drama.
Sometimes we just have to move on. Everyone will learn this at some point in their lives.

Dude, thanks for making this. Knowing that you're what you like to call a 'well known-member', people will listen to you since you've been here. All this drama stuff that has been happening to me on this forum has weakened me-mentally in fact. It's made me depressed and I've gained anxiety because of it. It needs to end.

The problem is, we like to feed off some good drama. It's fun when it starts, but it usually ends badly. I'm judging this on personal experience. Drama is addicting, if you get what I mean. It's nice to have at first, but it ultimately hurts all/most of the people involved in it, in one way or another. We cannot stop all the drama, but we can show people the truth behind it.

My next piece may go off topic a bit, but I feel that it needs to. Again with myself being involved with drama-I have been hurt. I have had people tell me to 'leave the forum' or 'stop being so negative' or 'stop being a hater' for having unique opinions. Sure, I probably shouldn't have posted the threads that received these comments, but at the time I thought I was allowed to freely state my opinions on certain topics. I was wrong.

I'm not doubting the fact that I have been a major contributor to drama in the past. But, as people say- the past is the past, and we must look to the future. I have been lowering the amount of "controversial" posts I make, but it's hard seeing that anything I say could be taken as "controversial".
There's one thing which I'd like to add, which I know people will disagree with me. I'll place it in a spoiler for those who don't care/etc.
Thinking about it, most of my drama happened during my time where I was "hardcore" about going for staff. This put a lot of pressure on myself, when there really shouldn't have been that much pressure to begin with. It caused me to overthink things, forget about other people's feelings (sort of), and become a totally different person. Sure, there are some pros of this story, but that's not the point. I've seen it with myself, and my friends. The whole staff-application process is a drama creator itself, with the amount of pressure someone may think they have.

To sum this up, drama can't be stopped entirely. I said this earlier, but it's an addiction that people feed off of for entertainment-some people at the least. No matter what, we can still warn people of the possible events that are to come. Foreshadowing.

    Again, thanks for this.

Mostly the drama on these forums are now rants about people's depression, their real life problems, or probably political wars, especially with the nightmare we call the 2016 presidential run for Americans.

To be honest, we're human, and we do fight, but sometimes we need to learn to respect one another's opinions whether it be different political viewpoints, opinions, religion, or outlook on life in general.

Drama threads about your life in general...

Okay, so I will admit that some of us have done this in the past, and no one is to be insulted/belittled by this post, but there isn't really much to gain from posting a thread about your life problems. We are all suffering challenges in life, and we are all fighting certain forces we feel we can't handle, but honestly, ItsJerryAndHarry is not the place to be posting threads about them. There were websites specifically made for people to reach out for help. You should post there rather than stirring up drama here.

If you feel as if you would like to reach out to someone you trust here, you are better off sending them a private message rather than posting your problems in public, where people can use your weaknesses against you.

Again, this wasn't meant to make anyone feel bad for posting drama threads, as we were all once immature and we all make wrong decisions in our life.

Hopefully no one took any offense in this post.

Alright, considering how I am an old member, I know more about this topic then most people.
Besides, drama is the reason why I quit 2 years ago anyway.
I don't even care if I just start rambling. But I must throw in my two cents into this.
Drama is unavoidable, and will be no stop to it. This has been said, but moving on.
This subject about drama entertains people and some want more, and some do not. All people love to talk about drama some even gossip, and embrace it as a whole. It really all depends.
If anyone remembers anything from the recent drama threads, people were literally all over it feeding the flame.
Including myself with the funny drama alert thumbnails, but I was trying to be funny.
Anyway moving on, drama it of itself is stupid and pointless. Sometimes by accident, sometimes it is intended to cause trouble and offend others, and this is all because of opinions. People love throwing in their two cents to drama, for 20 cents in return.

Drama here has always been here on this forum, and I got to see all of it.
It all was caused by a chain reaction of people's opinions and reactions. Sometimes it was because of someone harassing others, blackmail, grudges, and other things.
I have seen it all happen here, and there really is nothing that is going to stop it. All we can hope for is for people to grow thick skin and get over some of these threads. Let me remind you that I have always chosen to avoid drama, and always choose to instead make people happier and make them laugh, or sometimes made serious remarks about serious topics/rants. I am only here to help this community.

Drama two years ago and drama right now is no different.
All of it makes people angry, all of it generates attention, and all of it instagates more of it.
It's a vicious cycle of opinions and drama. I absolutely hate not being able to state my full opinion on things I would wish, but I only don't because of people's "popular opinion", and if you go against it your automatically the asshole of the forums. I am no white knight, but I am definately not a troublemaker either.
The point is that drama is caused by everything, including lying, personal opinions, harassment, and blackmail.
I bet some of you reading this don't like me, but I digress. Some people cannot accept that your not going to be liked by everyone. Why am I saying that people sometimes get jealous if people don't like them, and then proceed to go out of their way to find those who don't like them and then do whatever they wished to do, more than likely not good.
It's not always like that, but if I were to give more examples I would be here literally for a week.
Accept the fact that your not going to be liked by everyone, don't take everything so personally (except in some cases),
And more importantly, don't feed the flame.

    Overview:
I don't care if I was just rambling though the entire post, but if any of you can find I valid point I have made, I really hope it has brightened your eyes to some of this, even if you don't like what I said.

The biggest thing that people miss with drama is that usealy its a person not a topic that causes a problem.
MOST topics can be kept civil, there are exceptions, but there is very few of them.
The bigger problem is that some people knowingly or unknowingly instigate drama on topics, and often its the same people.
An example of this is like farming. That in it of it self should NOT cause an issue, however it does. Similarly, these same caused issues with Post a Picture of yourself. Again, its the person not the topic.

And until that is addressed this problem will continue. The reason why dao was able to put drama away was because he gave out some serious bans to alot of people. And they stayed banned for a long time. This got rid of the person, which helped eliminate the problem.
