Ok, so yesterday, I was muted for profanity. Ok ok, seems normal, EXCEPT there were at least a handful of other people swearing on the server, and I was one of the only people that was muted. I mean, seriously?! Come on man. I'm muted for another day, which I find unfair.
The reason you got muted was probably because you were using profanity a lot more than they were. I cannot think of any other reasons
You were either swearing towards a person for an example "F*ck you" or other reasons. If you do not want to get punished again I'd suggest reading and following these rules: http://itsjerryandharry.com/threads/detailed-rules.74449/
To get a 1 day mute requires around 3-4 warnings (I do believe it to be 3). Therefore, the mute isn't as unfair due to the fact you have had previous warnings. Now, it seems the mute has finished, I highly recommend that next time you head to Ban appeals and try to get your issue sorted there. Regardless of the name, you can actually appeal for mutes/warnings on top of bans.
Like Mappy said it's not as simple as someone muting you. There has to be multiple infractions. If you catch other people having bad behavior feel free to use /report but in the meantime I would watch how you behave.
Yeah, excessive swearing ain't allowed, boy! Although, some moderators do punish you without a verbal warn first, even though you do slight swearing. But you did have previous warnings from the past 30 days, which in my opinion, is reasonable to get a 1-day mute. And don't target swear, for example "F*ck you" or "F*ck off". That isn't allowed.
