We had a Social Studies sub today
That I related to on a political level.
    She hated Donald Trump
    And hated Hillary Clinton
And liked the lower rating candidates/Bernie Sanders.
This gave me hope for humanity.
(if you can't tell i like bernie out of all of them just because HE'S NOT THEM)

Yes we can. The Federal Reserve can raise interest rates to counterbalance the inflation. Besides, inflation's going to generally continue, whether we like it or not. We've been doing this for a while now-- it is not radical.
Yeah that makes sense. Or they increase prices. Or they re-capitalize. I understand that these companies in particular have really low profit margins but people need to make a living somehow; that's why I support a minimum wage increase. If it's done over a period of 5-10 years like here in California, companies have a good amount of time to re-capitalize.
    Fair enough. Funny how Donald Trump does the same shit. I don't like our candidates. ;-;

Although Trump will most likely win the nomination for the republican side, and Hillary is probably going to be the nominee for the democratic side, Bernie still has a chance to beat both of them. Indiana especially wants a recount on their votes, because they believe Hillary is a cheater... Which in my opinion, she is (and a liar, I guess). Trump... Will just ruin America, and poison our minds. I would still vote for Bernie... FEEL THE BERN.

Well, I do know some people IRL who are Sanders supporters only because they are being influenced by their children, and that to me isn't right. But then, I live in a state that doesn't necessarily use the most common sense in the world, so no der things like that happen. I do want to mention that even if Bernie Sanders is the nominee, then he still wouldn't be able to win. A good amount (Maybe even the majority) of Bernie Sanders supporters are all kids who are too underaged to vote. This is part of the reason why Hillary is in the lead. Hillary right now is 300 delegates ahead of Bernie Sanders, discounting super delegates. If Bernie where to become the nominee, then he'd have to win pretty much the majority of the states, especially California (I'm not going to lie, he will win this one), and he would also have to get the super delegate count to come over. I'm just not so sure if he is able to pull it off. It's not just that though, but he's a socialist. I don't think this country wants socialism, and to be honest if there is anyone here against it more, it'd be me, because to me it's like taking away the freedom to even make any money for yourself, because everything you make is taxed away and being distributed to other people and things, which isn't fair because those people worked hard for all that money, and it's being given away to people who don't want to work for it. Another thing, America is not built to be a socialist society, and so if we go through a change like that, then it has a chance of becoming a crisis in the economy. There are too many businesses, and too much capitalism in this country for nothing to happen when the time comes.

You realize, if the minimum wage is increased, then prices will increase with it. In the end, it will make no difference. If it's $15 an hour, then your average $10 burger will become a $25 dollar burger. Not only that, but it will ruin the economy for a while, because prices are all going up. Companies have to make money somehow, and that contributes to them paying their employees, and if prices don't go up, then the company dies, putting people out of jobs. That is why a minimum wage increase is completely unrealistic. The only effective way for people to make a living is if they work hard for it. They can get a raise if they are proven to being hard workers. The problem is, there are people who aren't willing to work hard for anything, and that's pretty much the whole reason why they end up going unemployed or end up making low wages.

I don't understand why Trump will ruin America. Can you please explain why?

EDIT: Now you can select nobody so, go for it. :)

I highly doubt that if any of these candidates become president, they will ruin the country. People are more cautious now, since Bush invaded Iraq for personal gain. Remember, for major bills and law, both the congress and senate have to pass, and both are controlled by Republicans, so a Democrat president can't do anything, and neither can Trump, because the Republicans don't like him. Besides, if they fuck up, they can be impeached, look at what's happening in Brazil, we can always impeach a bad President, just like how people tried to do with Nixon, or Bill Clinton (for the wrong reasons).

This isn't compleatly true. Presidents have the ability to give out executive orders like Bush did while charging into Iraq. The same exact thing can and probably would happen if Trump were to be elected, as he states he will drop bombs on ISIS. And he has full power to do so, but if he misused firearms then he could bring on another un needed and un wanted war.
Trump Will Ruin America because his tax plans will grow us into a deeper debt, his social stances will create mass racism in america and prejudice (as it already has), and his foreign policy will weaken our allies and possibly cause a world war 3.

If Trump did those things, we have the option of impeaching him, under the terms of misuse of assets, failure to supervise or abuse of authority. And Nixon and Clinton have been successfully impeached, so this won't be any different, considering how many people in the US hate him. We haven't seen anyone hated this much in high politics, since Nixon.

Fine. You've made a nice argument on the minimum wage issue. Here's where I'm going to stop you short.
He wants to shortcut the debt by not completely paying creditors, he wants to destroy tax revenue with flat taxes, he wants to repeal a healthcare act that has benefitted millions, etc. etc. oh and he has almost no grasp of the unintended consequences of his foreign policy ideas.

Edit: at least he's not as bad as Ted Cruz. That buffoon REALLY had his head up his ass. At least Donald wants to do something about trade.

Edit: and another thing. I'm a liberal and I'm not 100% politically correct. Have we taken political correctness too far? Probably. At least on college campuses. But the people who emulate Donald's language and his attack on political correctness take it too far in the other direction. Now, the PC people look fine and Donald kind of looks like a jerk right? But he's convincing people that this institution of civility is authoritarian and cruel, so Donald and these people rebel by using cruel language that the institution protects against. IDGAF what you think about political correctness, the hypocrite and his followers are ruining America. I'll make a thread expanding on this later.

Nixon? Maybe. Trump and Jackson have similar personalities, but some of the horrible stuff that Jackson did (I. E. Indian removal) I doubt Trump will trump that. It's the same thing for the Nazi comparisons. Trump and hitler are both extremely nationalist, but Trump won't kill 6 million Jews.

As long as it isn't unconstitutional they can't really do anything about it. And The Judicial Branch is not in charge of military tactics either.
