Warning don't post angry replies because what I'm talking about is bullshit that has gone on for long enough Many parents were offended after they took their kids to see Deadpool which is dumb it was their decision so why did they bring their kid in the first place those parents must be real stupid. It's completely ridiculous Kids going to see horror movies in theatres also makes me mad. The Friday the 13th series is a prime example of movies kids shouldn't see in theatres. The first movie was a smash hit in 1980 and really scared everyone shitless. The original kills were so violent the MPAA threatened to give the movie an X rating. So some of the kills were censored. So this movie was something that would give kids nightmares because of how violent it was. These are my thoughts. Edit: yes I went to see Deadpool but I'm 15 not some whiny little spoiled 12 year old who gets to see R-rated movies in theatres (nothing against twelve year olds their are good ones out there)
Personally, to a certain extent to some Kids out there, I think it would MILDLY Make sense for atleast some Kid's to go to an R Rated Movie, Most kids probably wouldn't be ready, and they'd be whining to go. Some Kid's could possibly be mature enough to experience it. But that's just my personal shitty opinion. Most kids probably shouldn't even be able to make it past the R Rated Movie despite the careless staff.
To get in a R movie here in Dubai, if you look 16+ they will let you in (even if your 13 or something), but if you don't look like your 16+ they ask for your ID
I've seen R rated, to even NC-17 movies when I was 10-12, so IDK about this, but really, to me even at that age most movies, are movies, not real life.
Over here Deadpool was rated MA15+ straya My Mum and brother went to go see it. Not older brother. Not 15 year old brother. 13 year old brother. 13 year old brother who can handle violence but not certain other content featured in that movie. Brother did not entirely enjoy movie. Mum loved it. I went and saw it with Mum shortly after. There were 12 year old girls with their fathers in the movies, as well as ~11 year old boys. Note, everyone under the age of 15 I mentioned, went with a parent or two. Meaning these parents are knowingly purchasing tickets for a MA15+ (or pretty much everywhere else R) movie. For their underage child/ren. If you buy a ticket for your underage child for a movie rated appropriately, it's your fault, not the people who made the movie. Not the people who sold you your tickets. Not the people who are running the movie. It's your fault.
Well the best way I get in to r-rated movies is just go with older guys. Did that 3 times successfully.
Some horror movies kids can see in theaters. Line if I were a parent, I would take my 17 year old to see Krampus.
If a parent does go with a kid to a R rated movie, the parents should know what's at stake, nudity, cussing, etc.
Note I'm 15 and the Deadpool is Rated R where I'm at and I'm 15 YEARS OLD!!! So stop countering and saying I shouldn't have complained when I saw Deadpool there was a 12 year old in there ;-;
I'm 15 me and my friend from my youth group who is 17 went to see the movie on Sunday after youth group lesson. And there were little kids that were atleast 12 or 11 and it made me angry.
Firstly, I would just like to say that Deadpool was a very good movie, and I enjoyed it dearly. However, every child world wide has been fan-girling about seeing it, after the official release of the trailer. Now don't get me wrong. I'm not hating because of the popularity of this movie, I just find it irritating how everyone suddenly claims to know everything about Deadpool, even though it had been around since the 90's. As well as this, since i live in Australia, we do not take our content seriously enough for Deadpool to be given in R18+ rating, thus making it only MA15+. The main reasons behind this was due to the fact that since this movie franchise drew so much attention from mainly teenagers and minors, they decided to lower the rating for them to view this movie, making Marvel millions. Even though this movie was rated MA15+, younger youth were still able to see it with the help of their parents, immediately regretting their decision to allow their child to watch the movie as @BlakeSenpai stated for its crude humour. I feel as if parents were to become more aware of what content they were exposing their children to, then there would be nothing for them to complain about, for this is not an issue created by the film or cinema industries, but by the irresponsible and neglect parents of those who refuse to check classifications themselves.
I'm 13, almost 14 and If I want to watch an R rated movie I just watch netflix or buy the dvd plus the cinemas are overpriced lmao. and no one keeps their mouth shut in the theatre to be honest Although if you are like 9 and go to see the new deadpool movie, you really shouldn't to be honest
True, however as Deadpool was so popular, underage kids were forcing their parents to take them to the movie while it was still in cinemas just so they could brag about seeing it. At least they did this where I live anyway. Also, I believe that cinema tickets come at quite a reasonable price, as there is nothing like watching a movie on a screen of such size and 360 degree sounds with as much bass to pull you directly into the movie, giving it a realistic environment. Some people at home whom have Netflix do have good to setups with hundred dollar speakers and 4K ultra hi-def tvs, but no matter how big your screen is, how crisp your speakers are, nothing will compare to the experience then watching a movie at a cinema.
