With the Oculus Rift releasing a few days ago, I felt the need to post about my thoughts on the Consumer Version of the Oculus Rift. Then compare it with my time on the HTC Vive Pre. What are your thoughts? What do you prefer? Tell me in the comments below.

    Oculus Rift
I bloody love this thing. I've played Lucky's Tale, EVE Valkyrie and Chronos and I think that VR has improved greatly over the past 3 years of the Rift's known development. This one is cheaper, but needs 8gb of RAM, if that isn't a problem (and it shouldn't. because if you had the best option for graphics and processing, you should have at least 8gb of RAM.)

It's $600 and I can safely say, is worth your money.

Even though Oculus are working on making the Rift much cheaper, buying it now will make you an early adopter, and a proud one at that. I was truly immersed with this device and I could play it for HOURS!

    HTC Vive Pre
This is a beautiful piece of technology. Although it's much more expensive, at a price of $800, it's extremely immersive with it's 'move around your room' tool. And since the software is by Valve, you know it's some good stuff.

With demos like Maximum Overdrive VR and Aperture Robot Repair, I've gotten really excited and worked up over the future of VR.

I don't have much else to say other than, if you have the money, BUY VR. DO IT NOW. I GUARANTEE THAT IT'S WORTH YOUR TIME. I haven't been able to use PS VR, but it looks really nice and the much cheaper option if you already have a PS4 and PS Camera.

Thanks for listening, and peace out guys!

Although VR seems cool, I'm a bit skeptical about it. The thing is, VR will most likely have only indie games, which are fun for a few hours, but get boring fast. As far as I know, there are no Triple A titles coming for VR soon. For me, VR isn't worth it if the games don't seem interesting to me. I'll wait and see how VR does, and if it does really good, maybe I'll change my mind.

Actually, there's a game being made by Ubisoft where you can fly like a bird. I don't remember what it's called though...

Your friend got the Development Kit; an unfinished version of the Rift for people to develop games for the release. The consumer version came out a few days ago.
