Diablo II still has a solid enough community that Blizzard recently released an update to ensure compatibility with things like Windows 10. Diablo II has been "dead" for 15 years :p
I can't offer validation to that thread. The answer to his question is simple and his question doesn't address his problem. If you care about something, you put in the effort. If you don't, that effort is wasted. If you want to acquire effort in return, you need something in addition to your effort called tact. Your thread is plagued because you have resigned your stance to be about the community/Minecrafts downfall instead of your idea. I'd still like to see a suggestion thread supporting your ideas. Let me know if you need/want some help creating it :)
Reading a whole sub-forum is too much work! But for real, for the average person it would take a lot of consideration to make a whole new minigame. You have to read every single detail, point out every flaw, do everything so in the end it's perfect. But nobody actually looks at the suggestions sub-forum. Most people look at attention-grabbing things like "Donator giveaway!". But the suggestions apparently takes too much processing power for our little brains to handle. Their ideas are original, but they'll die out. Look at AndyTheCow's post, Cards against Humanity. 150 or so views, and most people agree. I was the first to disagree. It was because Cards against Humanity is a game for mature people with mature humor, but dialing it down a lot making it themed for kids playing a block game just makes it lose its charm. It'll die off just like craftroulette. When's the last time you've seen an accepted suggestion? Exactly.
while I like the new minigame's they added that they came up with it upset's me that other server's copy them so quickly look at oitc and build it a massive success when they came out now alot quieter way 2 many copy's for both these amazing game's
Im just waiting for the day when kids stop talking about those stupid Minecraft youtubers like Skydoesminecraft. Sorry if you like them but ughh they're influencing my siblings to just sit around and do f*-all all day.
Craft roulette was never popular. However OITC was, it was an extremely popular game. However OITC has lost its mojo, and is now not a big deal, it ran its course, and then died down. Just like every other game, very few games live forever. So to say that something should not be accepted because it will die out is invalid, because EVERYTHING has an end. Perhaps for suggestions it never occurred to people that mini games dont appear overnight. You have to design it, something that takes alot of time. Just because an idea is popular does not mean it will be implemented, the owners have to choose waht they will put there resources to.
this.comment = MyComment; I have been saying things like that for a while. Admins here are NOT desperate. That's not the reason they have released all kinds of minigames... Minigames are being added because you, players, are requesting it. You all want this server to compete with some leading ones. But, Minecraft is not about minigames... It's a creative game focused on building, grinding and crafting, that is why I strongly believe that the focus should be on what's left of original minecraft. Open world gameplay. Only problem here is that Minecraft devs are not being as creative as they were... Minecraft tends to get boring once you've spent a lot of time playing it. Server content has nothing to do with the loss of players, it's Minecraft in general.
Yet both Mineplex and Hypickle don't have creative. And classic skyblock. Wut.... Let's be honest, those two servers have too many PvP based minigames. On our server, the main two minigames that aren't PvP based also are the most popular. Wow. Sometimes life is confusing.
Actually hypixel does have a creative server, though it's mostly just for people who want to be on their build team
I left Minecraft around last summer for all of these reasons: -My favorite server called "PrisonHeist" (wasn't a popular server, had ~80 at the most) shut down around that time due to funding problems. -I had to move on at some point, I remember playing Minecraft on my mom's phone I don't know how many years ago, and I made it to PC for about 2 years and then I was done. -Minecraft basically was consuming my life. I was awake until 7-8 in the morning playing Minecraft, waking up at around 4:00 in the afternoon just to get back on Minecraft. Some nights, not even sleeping. -I was spending every dollar I earned on Minecraft, I invested $600+ into PrisonHeist, and probably the same amount for any other servers I have been on, combined. I have moved on now to console gaming, and playing Cities: Skylines on my computer, if I'm even gaming at all.
If you calculate that we have 2 years tops for minecraft, I was thinking about that the other day: Why wouldn't J&H start trying making servers on games that actually aren't going down, like CS:GO or TF2? TF2 could actually be a good idea, as Harry's skin is a TF2 soldier, a lot of this community's members are playing TF2, it's a free game, and a lot of mini-games are possible with it, like surfing or rocket jumping, etc, and a lot of TF2 servers are growing (I mean, just look at the resurfed network). CS:GO is kind of a growing game when talking about servers, because we can see LeafyIsHere, which is a super fastly growing youtuber playing a minigame in it called surfing. Oh, and there are also a lot of newer steam games that could be nice to have servers on. I'm sure the community would grow better if we tried to move a bit away from minecraft and actually try other games. But hey, I'm no server expert, that's just an idea.
These communities only work on RPG and MMORPGs as you need to have support for massive numbers of people online. And, idk. This community is about Minecraft so I dont see the need to change. Nothing lasts forever.
