Howdy there! If you do not know, my name is Smg. Today I will be talking about a more server like topic. The Parkour community. You are most likely wondering: "Smg, why do we need you to talk to us about the Parkour community all the sudden?" I will be answering this question throughout the thread, with my feelings. Now, for each IJAH server, I like to think it has it's own community. Excluding the lobby. Recently I have been parkouring a bit more than I tend to do. This has lead me to the conclusion that there is something abrupt with this community. I have screenshots of what I am talking about, but I will not post them due to privacy reasons. What I'm talking about mainly is; the chat. The Parkour chat tends to be a little 'obnoxious' in my opinion. Meaning that there is no control. Earlier, I had seen a staff member tell people to keep thus chat appropriate, and a user simply cursed that staff member out. That's just insane. Trust me, this would be a whole lot easier to explain if I didn't want to invade someone's privacy who may be in the screenshots. And no, this is not an attention thread. The Parkour chat had gotten to an extreme for my liking earlier today, and I just want to state my feelings about the situation. Here are some questions that may come to your mind, while reading this thread. If you don't like the Parkour chat, why don't you just turn it off with the 'Invisibility Clock'? I don't know if it's just me that feels this way, but I like to do minecraft activities while knowing other people may be doing the same thing. I think it's because I don't like being alone that much on these types of server. When I see the chat, I know I'm not alone. Seeing the chat recently has gotten me conflicted. What exactly is the purpose of this thread? The purpose of this thread is just to spread my opinions, about an 'dreary' community. The reason I used the particular word 'dreary' is because it just saddens me seeing people act this crazy in a game that is meant for all ages. For kids. If you see a player misbehaving, stop complaining about it, and report it to the staff team. This one isn't really a question, but I feel like some of you may think about this. Trust me, I do know when/when not to report a player. I've been on both sides of a report. To go into more Depth about what I said earlier, I had reported these players for acting inappropriate for the server. After a staff member had taken care of the report, they didn't stop. They kept going, no matter if they got a warning or not. I have tried my best to help this 'community' out, but just making a simple report isn't helping this abuse in chat stop anymore. Smg, it looks like you're over exaggerating a little bit with this post. Don't you think? As I have said before, many times; I try my hardest to be brutally honest. This is one of those times where I will have to tell the truth. I myself feel that I have over exaggerated a bit in this forum. Not a lot, but a little. Almost every time I come on the Parkour server, something is always up in the chat. Notice how I said 'Almost'. Thankfully, some of the time I do come on this specific server, the chat seems fine. It may seem great actually. In conclusion, I love to parkour. I always have. I just hate seeing something that I love to do, be subject to this abuse in chat, that seems merely unstoppable. If you have read this throughout, I am deeply thankful. I am very sorry if I have offended anyone, in any way. My condolences if I have. Feel free to start a conversation with me, if you want to talk more in-depth about this topic/if you are afraid to possibly start a 'flame-war' on this thread. If you have something to say, I encourage you to say it. However, I am not forcing you to say something; say your thoughts only if you are comfortable stating them. i understand your point of the thread. ive been to parkour plenty of times before and had to get a staff member online because of what was going on in the chat. people are extremely immature, and are constantly talking back. however, what can we do about it? i dont really see your meaning mind it except informing us about parkour, which we already know about. more staff could go there and be stricter, and maybe that could show them that they can't act like they do, but if they're not going to listen now, will they ever? i completely understand where you are coming from, but i really dont see how we can put a stop to it.

I think it's at an okay level. It's not great, but it's relatively fine compared to other servers (not in IJAH). Honestly, I think it's a good thing that most of the immature folks go to Parkour, making it centralized. It's better if only one server isn't that great compared to the entirety of IJAH itself. Sure, it's bad for the people at Parkour who dislike the community, but it's actually getting better than before. It's hard to believe, but staff are doing a great job on keeping it down. BTW I don't mean that it's hard to believe staff are doing a great job, I'm talking about the status of Parkour compared to then.
Well said. I didn't even think of what you said whilst writing this thread. I'm not a huge parkour player, so some of my points may be a bit off. I was only using my own experiences as a source.
With reports, don't worry about reporting things that don't need immediate attention. We will investigate, watch chat, etc. The only way you'll get in trouble for ./report-ing is if you did ./report mappyturtle she sucks feet or something. I know what parkour is like - I spent my first day as helper there. It's fun. Don't be afraid to ./report. An available Staff member should be able to come and watch chat. C:
It's true what you said in your statement but Parkour isn't just the community where all these situations happen. For example, Creative and I reckon it is a lot more worse. I know you know this because you are a well-known member in Creative1.
In my experiences, I also see alot of negative criticism long ago and even till now. I don't know why that's going on so often but parkour as you said should be a happy and fun place.
Tbh I think those people are aware of how they act and they know it isn't right. If I were to give some advice, it would be to just stay out of it. The staff know that Parkour is a domain for verbal abuse. Stick with what you do and just let staff know if something is going on. All that the staff can do is just warn/mute/ban them. You can't do much about it either. If you tell them to stop, they're most likely going to just continue to annoy you because that is what they're like. I do know that there are a few staff that spend a lot of time in Parkour disguised/vanished. Nothing major should be told and done to this community as they make up a massive part of the entire server. I'm sure JH don't want a whole chunk of people to be cut from their community. We shouldn't disrespect them or throw shade on them either. If you ignore their abuse and just report, you'll see the benefits. Next, if a staff member is being cursed out when telling someone the rules, that staff member should be warning that person straight-out. But, I don't want to bag out staff because they do a lot to keep the server the way it is. Imagine if there were no staff at all. All that I could possibly suggest is to just keep reporting those people. If you're annoyed by the fact that you have to keep "dragging" staff to Parkour or reporting, apply for staff or leave (not being rude, just being realistic).
Thank you all for replying, it really means alot. I just want to clear one thing up: This thread is merely an opinion thread. In one of the questions, I had stated that this is an opinion only thread. Yes, if you have read throughout, I do know when and when not to report. Please trust me on this. I know that Parkour is obviously one of the bigger IJAH servers. At the time of me writing this thread, I was astonished in a negative way from seeing this chat. And as I have said earlier, my thread was only based off of my experiences. I had asked no one about their's/etc while writing this. @Keboozle Your response really makes me thinking. Creative1 is basically just like parkour, with the craziness in chat. If I can survive that, I can most surely survive the Parkour chat. Thank you for your response. @MappyTurtle I'm not afraid to report players. Never have been, because I know I am doing what's right for the server. I usually only use the ./report command for hackers, as I cannot record hackers like others can. Parkour in my opinion is a really fun server as you said. it's just the chat bugs me sometimes, like it had when I wrote this thread. Thank you for your response. @HCchicken Man, I agree with you. I think the main reason there is so much 'craziness' in the parkour chat, is because most of them are merely children (Please do not take offense). Children who are immature. As to your second post, I couldn't agree more. Whenever I see something going on, I try my fastest to report the player(s). @_Magical As I had said earlier, this is an opinion only thread. I'm not trying to ask how we can fix this, but only stating my thoughts and feelings. Yes, I try to stay away from the Parkour server most o the time, because of the chat. But, you know, sometimes I just got that crazy urge to jump around on blocks and 'speed-run'. I have also never told people to stop, as I just try to stay out of the chat 'craziness', and just let the Staff members do their job. I have reported players on other server, and have seen the benefits. Trust me. This thread is basically as I said earlier, my experiences. I have reported tons of parkour players, but I have not seen them stop/chat stop. That's just my experience. The last thing I want is to get rid of an IJAH community. Sure, this thread may look like I hate the absolute chat of Parkour, which can be seen as true and false. The fact is that every server's community in my eyes, is unique. Only one of them, no matter how many other servers have the same type of server genre. There's only one IJAH Parkour server, and that's what makes this one unique. I'm not trying to disrespect any Parkour member. If I wanted to, I could just post my screenshots without caring if they want it private or not. And about the staff member who got 'cursed' out, here's what happened. I will not state names, as I want to keep this event private. The staff member had told a member to calm down, and stop being inappropriate. This same staff member did not seem them stop, and had to warn them. Then he/she left, because he/she thought the job was done (I honestly don't blame him/her, I would have left as well if I had just warned someone, and saw that the chat had stopped for a bit). After this staff member left, the same person who got warned cursed them out. Thankfully there was another staff member in the distance to keep an eye on them. Finally, I am not annoyed at all that I got to drag staff all the way to Parkour, to make this community a better place to be. Why would I? I'm happy to do it The fact is; sometimes the chat gets so crazy, that I can't even handle the 'craziness' myself, which results me into getting a staff member, then most likely leaving the Parkour server for another IJAH server.
