So soon I'll be moving out and I need to upgrade my computer. I have no idea what is better. I just don't want a slow computer. I want it to run so that I am able to game and have other applications open without the computer going slow.
I don't know what specs do what.
If your PC runs fine, it'd be great if you could tell me what you have
    Thanks in advance :D

I ordered my new PC from "Ironside Computers" and it works great! I did a budget PC and customized it to my likings. I ordered a gaming keyboard/mouse, Monitor, mousepad, and speakers along with my computer, great choice imo, you should check them out!

To whoever is gonna say this costs too much or whatever, I'll go ahead and say.. idc ;^)

    Anyways, good luck! :)

What part of the computer determines the speed though? Is it ram?

I would suggest building your own so you can get the parts you want. I built mine and I can give you the specs when I get home.
(Note. I run about 800+ frames on minecraft, 300ish on gmod, 250ish on csgo, and 200+ on basically every game I can)

I know that gaming computers are pricey, but I have a Reddit link that has a bunch of gaming computers that you can buy the parts and build it. If you don't know how to build the computer try to find something that can help you.

CPU, RAM, and storage are the 3 main factors that affect computer speed generally. When you're looking at CPUs, you want to look for:
    • Clock speed (measured in GHz)
    • Cores
    • There are other major factors, but I can't mention them without going technical.
When you're looking at RAM, you want to look for:
    • Speed (measured in MHz)
    • Size/space (measured in GB)
If your computer starts stuttering, or freezes, it's almost ALWAYS due to the RAM or CPU being full. Therefore, when buying RAM, try to get as much as possible (4-8GB is ideal for someone who doesn't game, or 8-16GB if you do. Buying more has no benefit whatsoever). The same applies for CPU - try to go for more cores (4/quad core is plenty unless you want to edit videos, or run a server (probably something that doesn't even apply to you)).

Storage (SSD/Hard drive) speed is also very important if you're someone who goes into their drives a lot (someone with a lot of files and folders). In which case, having a drive that can read faster will be better.

GPU is a huge factor that comes into play for game frame rates, which is affected by:
    • Clock speed (measured in MHz)
    • Cores
    • Other factors
Your network speed can also have a large impact in some areas (for instance, if you're the sort of person who spends a large portion of time streaming videos on YouTube, Twitch, Netflix, or whatnot). However, this isn't anything to do with the computer, but still a factor to consider.

PM me if you want a better explanation (or want me to go further in-depth), since I doubt I did a good job of it here.
