Sorry for the delay of 3 days, I was blank of ideas and I was sick (still am btw). If nothing bad happens, the next chapter will still be on Sunday like usually. Anyway, enjoy!

Chapter 11 - Red hat back

Louise, Jack, Killy, Safoya and Sven were in the truck and Blab was in her new "toy". They were heading for the time traveling portal. "So, if I understood correctly, you want to go back in time so that the real you don't die and so that any of this doesn't happen?" asked Sven. "So, if I understood correctly, you did understand correctly, we go back in time, YOU stop us from dying and none of this becomes real." answered Jack. "And where are we going now?" asked Safoya kind of excited. When Jack noticed this excitement, he was kind of scared.

"You okay?" asked Killy cleaning his sniper rifle from dust. "Yeah! I'm perfectly fine!" Safoya answered. "A little too fine, I think..." said Sven. "Oh come on! You can't be not excited! We just kicked phoenix's ass, fought the rebels and that giant thing back in Hellhole killing everyone! God! This is the best day ever! Back on Horizon, the best job I would receive was to kidnap someone, but this, this is a WHOLE new level! Thanks Bruno!" Screamed Safoya. Jack was now completely terrified. "And I thought you were the one who's crazy." Said Louise joking.

"But seriously, where are we going?" asked Sven. "Killy, remember the last heist we forced Louise to participate in?" asked Jack laughing at Louise. Louise pretended not to understand what he was talking about. "The mine one? The one we set half the profits on fire with that stupid settlement?" asked Killy. "Yeah! Remember the guy who loves the colour red and hats?" asked Jack. "The innocent man you sent on Horizon for fun?" asked Louise surprised "His parents are gonna kill us!" "Relax, he's fine, our ol' Svenny didn't brake his face which is already great." What? Sven thought. Is it the guy I busted back up there, the crazy one?

"The bomber?" asked Sven. "No! Well, I don't know, we with Blab just sent him there to see what happens, I'm sure you met him though. Oh, and he actually gone pretty creative up there, he renamed a THEATRE in my name, haha, the idiot, but still original, and I respect that. He might've pretended to be the Tree Killer though." Said Jack. "We're going to pay him a visit, if you don't mind?" Sven didn't mind, he didn't mind anything really, the world became crazier every second Jack was around. A few minutes later, the truck and the mecha chasing it were in the view of a pretty small settlement. A sign not far from it said "Welcome to my town, slicks!"




The settlement was made of wooden houses and a small port for fishermen. There was a lake to the other side of the settlement, you would need a boat to traverse this, you could even swim through it if you felt like doing so. The truck Sven was in stopped in the middle of the settlement, everyone noticed them. The mecha appeared nearby soon as well. Everyone came out of the truck but Blab stood still in her new vehicle. "What are you doing in my town?" asked a random man with a rifle. "You know, that's funny, I was about to ask the same thing with a pretty mean word though, starts with an "F". So, what are you doing in my town?" Asked Jack. "You are nothing more but a disgusting liar, you said you will have 50% of the money we got and the rest is mine! You spend my half on this stupid town! So get out of my town!" Yelled the man angrily. "No, I could swear I didn't say that, I said the first half is mine and the other half is OURS." said Jack.

"But hey, since we're both gentlemen and you're slightly deaf, well, there's a case in the back of the truck, 20 million. All yours. You could say thanks to our little Red-hatted friend for it." said Jack and walked away, the man seemed very excited and without further thinking ran for the case and opened it. Just like Jack said, there were tons of money. "Thanks man!" screamed the man happily. Jack didn't respond, he just continued walking, Louise and Killy followed him. Blab stood still so Sven decided to stay as well. Safoya on the other hand, didn't hesitate and followed them. "What are we doing here anyway?" asked Sven to Blab. "We would need money later on to fix the portal, and we're looking for someone who does this eyes closed. You know him." answered Blab and here she was right, he knows him.





Jack walked into the bar with his "friends" behind him. As he entered, the bar became 2 times more silent, Jack seemed surprised. "... What's going on?" asked Safoya. No one answered, Jack just continued walking towards the place where the drinks were distributed by the bar man. "Vodka martini, shaken, not stirred." said Jack trying to pretend to look serious, but he failed at this as he laughed two seconds later. "Wait, really?" asked the Bar Man. "Of course not, where's our Red-Hatted friend?" asked Jack. "Outside, keeps stealing things for no reason, like you, except of stealing things you create settlements. For absolutely no reason." said the Bar Man. "Who said that? Maybe I wanted a vacation spot, these days, places near a lake are hard to find, you know." said Jack. "Just stop lying to yourself, you were just drunk enough to say "I want my own town!". Said Louise.

"Jackie!" Screamed someone from the outside. He soon came in. He had a red hat. It was the Red Hat Guy. "Hey!" Said Jack "How you doing?" "Perfect, you?" "Great! Anyway, we got a job for you. If you weren't wrong about what you found out on Horizon, about Bruno being hunted down as well, then we have to talk with Phoenix their language, money." said Jack. "What?" asked Safoya. "We make Phoenix stop by giving them lotsa money! And you're in luck because money's my specialty! How much millions you need to trade with them?" asked Red Hat Guy. "Well, if they offered 600 000$ dollars for Sven and Safoya combined, then it's 300 000$ each, we multiply that by 5... 1 500 000$ that we need." said Killy. "Well, I thought it would be harder than that, but hey! It'll be done, don't worry. And about Bruno though, it seems pretty serious. So yeah, when we start?" asked The Red Hat Guy.

Looks like we will rob someone, seems like Bruno has problems... lol

Chapter 12 - Hunt for Bruno

*10 minutes after the events of chapter 7, on Horizon*

Bruno was sitting on his chair, wondering what's going on down there, on Earth. "Sven and Safoya are being hunted down, they will soon come for me" thought Bruno. Even though this was certain, he didn't move. He was still sitting in his chair, thinking, why would they want to kill them? Why are they so important to them? Too much questions and no answers. The best Bruno got was Jack wrecking Sven's device. He didn't like Jack, he was swagger. He was pretty smart, sure, but swagger. Jack told him that sending them down was important, but why?

Two people entered Bruno's bar. He couldn't see who it was and neither did they. He picked up the closest handgun and aimed infront of him. He didn't end up to see who the people were but he could hear the two silhouettes talking. "Who's that?!" shouted Bruno and showed up infront of the door. Neither of the two were Phoenix, Bruno even recognized one of them, Red Hat Guy. "What are you doing here?" asked Bruno to his two guests. "I'm here to ask you what happened to Sven. I'm his assistant. The last words I heard were "Traitor!" and then I lost the signal. You better be explaining yourself." said the person next to Red Hat Guy. "He's on earth. It's been a misunderstanding. No one sold no one out. Come in!" said Bruno. The assistant still wasn't satisfied though.

"Okay, so this guy I know what he wants, what do you want?" asked Bruno to Red Hat Guy. "Eh, you know, the 20 million Jack owes to the guy, you got em right?" explained the Red Hat Guy. "In the kitchen, under the floor. Metal case." said Bruno. "Where is he?!" asked the assistant. "On Earth, for christ's sake! I told you where he is!" shouted Bruno. "What the hell is he doing down there?!" shouted the assistant. "He's on a very special mission, you didn't have to be informed because Phoenix didn't need to know about any of this. But they somehow know where Sven is. They are hunting him down now and we're next." explained Bruno. When the assistant realized what crap he's in, he started shaking.

"Alright... that thing is pretty heavy though. I guess I'll go, I gotta do it quick though. They're gonna stop infront of that huge building for only a few minutes and I have to put it in unseen and my spaceship is several quarters away. So yeah, I'm gonna hurry, good bye!" as Red Hat Guy was about to leave, he heard gunshots. Bruno instantly took his handgun. "Go out from the other side, Red." said Bruno and Red Hat Guy ran away. "Surrender now, Phoenix here!" Yelled the people from the outside. "What did I do wrong?!" Bruno shouted back. Instead of an answer, he heard an another gunshot. Bruno shot back twice. The assistant got his handgun too and shot three times. Phoenix shot four times and forced for both Bruno and the assistant to get to cover.

"We're coming in!" yelled the Phoenix from the outside and soon, three people broke inside of the bar. Bruno took down the two of them but the third one of them managed to wound Bruno in the shoulder. "Arrghh!!" Yelled Bruno because of pain. The assistant shot the third Phoenix soldier in the neck killing him. "Cmon, we need to get out of here!" said Bruno trying to walk away guiding the assistant, he helped him walk. "There's a motorcycle from the other side of this place, we need to get to it and get out of here!" said Bruno as they were walking away from numerous gunshots behind them.

They got out from the bar and just like Bruno said, there was a motorcycle. The assistant helped Bruno get on the passenger's seat and himself say on the driver's seat and started the engine. "How old is this?!" asked the assistant. "Back from 1990s! Don't worry, she's still worth a ride." said Bruno. The assistant hoped that this was true although it was hard to believe. "Hey stop!" screamed the soldiers that followed them. "Drive, I'm gonna shoot!" said Bruno and the assistant started the motorcycle and went at full speed. Neither of them expected to go so fast, so both of them almost fell off.

The Phoenix didn't give up though, they got into their military vehicles and started chasing them. Bruno, as he said, shot them and took one of the vehicles off. The street they were driving on were now filled with gunshots. The few people that were there were hiding and screaming in fear. None of them cared though and continued the chase. Bruno's shoulder was bleeding fast. "We need to hide! We can't last like this forever!" said Bruno. "No shit, Sherlock! Any ideas where?!" asked the assistant. "Yeah, there's an abandoned construction site, from there we can hide underground. Phoenix doesn't know about this place." said Bruno.

Chapter 13 - A junkie, a man with cancer and a priest.

The five "friends" came out of the bar. They all came to the truck, Sven quickly recognized the Red Hat Guy, and Red Hat guy recognized Sven as well. "Hey! I remember you! You were the one who busted me when I was up there! I'm guessing I can consider you my friend now, can I?" asked Red Hat guy happily. Sven was a little scared of this friendliness. After all, he busted him, almost killed him a few times in that chase, and now he asked him to be his friend? Sven was sure Red Hat Guy had a mental thing going on. "Sure..." answered Sven, nervously. "Great! Maybe I can win in poker against you a couple of times after this is done! Hehe" said the Red Hat guy and sat in the back of the truck. Killy did the same, and so did Safoya.

"So, who how are we going to get the money?" asked Sven. Killy and Jack laughed, even Louise smiled a little. Blab laughed uncontrollably too, Red Hat guy didn't even hear what was being said, but because everyone was already laughing, he decided to laugh as well. "Sven, you know my ways. Tchick-tchick, Boom! And it's all done!" said Jack "But, since you and Safoya are "angels", totally, considering where you were both working, we are doing it in a more humane way. There's a kid called Jesse. An average Hegasoudin seller, you know, that magnifying "medicament" that makes you fly..." said Jack and started the engine. Sven finally sat in the back of the truck.

"...So, this idiot and his friend, Walt, who has cancer by the way, stole a barrel of Hega from here. From me! Not only that but because of that, the crazy Phoenix have been investigating my town! And that's without considering the fact that one barrel of Hega costs a ton of cash. We only had one and that's because some gangster, Gustav, wanted to get rid of evidence, so he "hidden" it. Then Walt blew him up, the poor sap. We thought maybe we'd sell it, but couldn't find anyone who would buy it. So we decided to just keep it there until someone visits and buys a little bit of it." said Jack and started driving.




Sven knew what Hegasoudin was. It was a drug that, from people's reviews, would make you fly and you won't land for several hours. Hegasoudin in small doses cost over a hundred or so dollars, and Hega alone would cost a lot as well. But a barrel of it doesn't cost a million dollars... hmmm. The truck arrived infront of a certain cave, you couldn't see much of what was inside because it was dark. "Alright, so I get that priest's Metal Card, and go out unseen. Easy as pie!" said Red Hat guy. "What priest?" asked Safoya. "The one, who will do anything to make you believe that Jesus exists... he's pretty rich and buys the Hegasoudin to, you know, make those who visit his church fly." explained Blab. Religion is still a thing down here. "Let's consider robbing him a... payback for exploiting our find." said Killy. "And just because he's an asshole." added Louise.

Red Hat guy entered the cave. The plan was to him do everything and incase he was found out, they couldn't quickly leave with Red Hat guy. They've been waiting for 15 minutes, no trace of Red Hat guy. Another 15 minutes later, someone, not Red Hat guy, came from the cave. He was armed. "The devil is still here..." said that person. No one really cared about what he meant, most likely Jack or Louise he's referring to. "You send a thief for me, to take Metal Card. Will all the money I earned with my church." said the person, he was dressed like a priest. "Well, I can drug people too and then pretend that it was God who was "testing" them." said Jack. "And I send a pro, not like your two idiots, Walt and Jesse. And me stealing from you, well, let's just say you were exploiting me."

The priest clearly didn't like the discussion, he kept silence for 10 seconds and finally said: "What I am doing, is giving people hope. Telling that someone up in the skies actually cares about you." said the priest angrily. "I "exploited" you because no one believed me... He exists! And no one believes this! What the world has become..." "Either way, where's Red Hat Guy?" asked Safoya. "The devil... and his co-workers... are not to be forgiven..." said the priest and started shooting in Sven's direction. Sven ducked just in time and wasn't hit. "He will be sacrificed..." said the priest and ran back into the cave.

Killy immediately took his sniper rifle and ran in but screams of a familiar voice stopped him. There were Infact two voices now, both familiar to Killy but not to Sven. Blab aimed her mecha's cannons towards the cave to not take any risks, but it turned out that those were Jesse and Red Hat guy running like crazy. "Jesus! This guy shot Walt in the head for no reason!" yelled Red Hat guy. "Good thing I stabbed him, that's what you get, bitch!" yelled Jesse in return. Jack didn't care about neither of them, they ran away, so what? I did so too when I was 10. The only thing Jack seemed to care about was the Metal Card with priest's money on it. "Yeah I got it!" said Red Hat guy. Just as he said that, the priest came out of the cave, wounded.

"You judas!"

This chapter has a scene of torture. It's not extreme or gory, but if you're scared of such things, I don't recommend you reading it.

Chapter 14 - Sacred

The priest couldn't really move more. He was bleeding too fast. "You will all pay! We will make you pay!" yelled the priest and died of blood loss. What was surprising to all was that the priest said "We". Jack and Killy thought that he's just a lunatic that referred "we" as him and God. Blab and Louise thought he was referring "we" as him and Jesse with Walt. However from what they have heard from Jesse, the priest killed Walt for no reason. Sven didn't really think about that, the only thing he was thinking about now was getting Bruno from this mess. Suddenly, the heads crazy screams of an animal...

Flares! Four flares were running for them right now like crazy! "A chance to use my mecha, finally!" Thought Blab. She was the only one not to panic right now. Even Jack and Louise, though immortal, seemed terrified. Blab's mecha started shooting cannons killing one of the flares, but there were still three left. One of them caught Jack and threw him away, no one could see him anymore. Safoya got her magnum out and started shooting flares like a maniac. "This place is slowly driving us all insane" thought Sven. Blab was doing most of the job, she already managed to kill the second one of them, but then her cannons broke and she had to fight with the robot hands.

As this insane battle went on, Sven noticed a silhoutte behind him, he turned around to see who that was but as soon as he did that, he received a painful slam on his face with a bat. Sven couldn't stand up after this hit, he sat on the ground, watching as he's bleeding from his mouth. He looked back at the person who hit him, the person, without any emotion, him Sven again, this time, knocking him out. When he woke up, he woke up in a locker that was inside of the cave. He tried to get out, but couldn't because it was locked. He wondered what was happening outside of the cave, did they kill the flares? Is everyone okay? Sven was thinking of this, but his thoughts were quickly interrupted when he noticed a saw with BLOOD ON IT!

"Oh god..." thought Sven. "Whoever that lunatic is, I certainly have to get out of here!" Sven tried to open the locker again but couldn't. He then noticed the person that kidnapped him. He was holding a knife in one hand and a Jesus Cross in the other. He didn't notice Sven, he didn't seem to care about Sven at all. He seemed to care more about what was on the table. This table was also covered in blood but what was the scariest part in there, was the man attached to the table. It wasn't very clear for Sven to see, but he have heard things like: "I am gonna draw a cross on your chest. It will hurt, but then you will have the chance to appear in heavens..." and after that he heard the man screaming endlessly until he died. "What a pity... he could've lived longer, oh well. At least he was sacred by me. He won't risk to be in hell anymore... He is probably in heavens right now, greeted by Jesus..."

Sven tried to keep quiet from now on, maybe he won't notice him? Maybe he has forgotten about him? To his surprise, Sven found his GUN in his pocket! "Well, then it changes everything! Let's shoot that bastard..." thought Sven. He tried to shoot but the gun didn't shoot. "No, no way! Bullets, no no no" Sven started panicking... "Maybe if I aim it at him, he won't realize that there aren't any bullets inside?" the longer he thought about it, the more things he imagined happening to him. Blood everywhere, on the table, on the knives... "Oh, I almost forgotten! Hello there... I'm sure you're just an innocent guy who for some reason teamed up with the devil..." Sven thought that "the devil" was Jack. "but don't worry, there's still a way for you to not live in hell for eternity..." the torturer then opened the locker, and Sven instantly drawn his gun. The torturer knocked him out with his fists. He lost his gun.

Sven woke up on the table... He tried to move but couldn't, his arms and legs were attached. His shirt was missing, the only thing he had on himself were his pants. "Oh no... gotta get out of here, quick!" thought Sven. "Oh, you woke up, I guess, don't worry. I will do everything quickly. Just a little cross on your chest. It will hurt, for sure, but it will be worth it. Oh and, apologies for being mean to you, this was the fastest way but I assure you, after this, you will be free to go." said the torturer holding a knife. "Oh, and don't mind the guy that died. He was useless to everyone anyway and usually, people don't die after this. It was just a very unfortunate accident." Sven was shaking and sweating in fear. However him saying that usually no dies after this and that this will be quick reassured him.

The torturer was now holding his knife right next to Sven, making everything be even more terrifying. The knife now touched him, Sven was ready for the pain to come. "What the hell is going on, here?!" yelled a fimiliar voice. "You..." the torturer picked Sven's gun and pointed in the direction from where the voice came from. Sven used that as an opportunity to try to free himself. He couldn't do it. The torturer went in the direction of the voice. Sven then heard things breaking, screams of two people hitting each other. After several minutes of these sounds, it was revealed that it was Red Hat Guy.

Chapter 14 - Daddy Issues

After being thrown away by the flare, Jack landed on the ground somewhere very far. After the fall, Jack was unconscious even if he's an illusion. After a few minutes of being unconscious, Jack finally opened his eyes but couldn't see anything, only dust everywhere. He couldn't see his friends anywhere. Jack wanted to start screaming their names but decided that no one would hear him. So he started walking where he thought his friends were. He wasn't sure if he was going the right way or not. Infact, he didn't even care yet.

After a few hours of walking in this desperate desert, he understood that he had no clue where to go. Good thing he couldn't die of thirst. This would've been a disappointment. Dying in a desert is not fun or memorable. Just slow and painful. He walked another few hours until he had noticed a house. This house was surrounded with holes. The holes were obviously dug by someone, Jack didn't care who dug them yet. Infact, he didn't care at all anymore. He was too tired of walking through this desert to care about holes.

"Hey Mister!" screamed someone inside of one of the holes. It sounded like someone very young, perhaps 10 years old. When a boy climbed out of the hole, this theory was confirmed. He was 12 at best. "Are you there to bring us water?" asked the boy. Jack didn't know what he was talking about or cared of what he was talking about. He was way too tired to care about a kid digging holes. He sat on the ground. "Are you alright?" asked the boy. "Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks." Said Jack. The boy now sat next to Jack. "Who are you? You aren't the guy that brings us water, are you?" Jack didn't answer. Wasn't it obvious? If I had water do you think I would be barely walking now?

"Well, I gotta get back to digging." Said the boy and climbed back into the hole. "Why are you digging?" asked Jack. "Dad said that there's some treasure that is buried there. But mostly is because I'm punished for asking him if I could talk to mom." said the boy and almost started crying. "I hate that asshole... if mom was here, she wouldn't let this happening! He hates me! He doesn't want me, the day, I'm digging those stupid holes and at night he beats me for fun! I would've escaped but there's no where to run. Only desert everywhere!" "I also had a rough dad. Had anger issues. Got mad often and when he was mad, beat the crap out of everything including me." said Jack.

The boy climbed out of the hole. "You have to help me! Look, I'll pretend that I invited you. You're tough, you can beat him up. Teach him a lesson! Please!" said the boy. "No, I don't wanna risk to be violently beaten up. Sorry." said Jack. The kid now started raging. "You're just as bad as him! You're as bad as everyone! No one cares now! I keep getting beaten up and no one bats an eye! People die, no one bats an eye!" yelled the kid. Jack obviously didn't care about that. Why would he? Almost every child these days has to live through this. The boy was now walking quickly in his house. "He'll be beaten up now... Christ's sake. Okay, kid. I'll help you" thought Jack.

Jack got up and followed the kid. "What do you want?!" asked the boy. "I wanna have a little chat with your dad." said Jack. The kid understood instantly what he meant. They both entered the house. A large man showed up. Jack was almost sure he'll regret it. The man was twice as large as Jack, and probably thrice as strong. "Jim, I told you. No break until afternoon!" said the man. "I have a guest for you." Said Jim, the boy that was digging those holes. "I see, you know. Guest, could you please sit on the table there" The man showed the table behind him with his finger. "While me and Jim have a chat upstairs. Jack sat on the table while Jim and his father were going upstairs.

A few minutes later, Jack heard things breaking up stairs. "What did I agree to, I'll just get hurt for no reason. Damnit..." thought Jack and picked a baseball bat that was in the same room as him. With this baseball bat, Jack was getting upstairs. Upstairs there were two rooms. One of them was locked and it was where the sound came from. Jack kicked the door and it opened both Jim and his father were surprised. Jim's father was beating his son up. Without further thinking, Jack hit Jim's father with a baseball bat in the face making him fall. Jim's father was now on the floor. For ending this quickly, Jack tried to hit the man with the bat a little more to knock him out, sadly, when he tried to him him, the man caught the bat in his hands, took it from Jack and then broke it.

The man then took Jack by his throat and threw him down stairs. Once down, Jack tried to look for anything that could've been used as a weapon, but before he could even get up, the man grabbed him and threw him out the window. Jack was now outside. He then noticed that his gun was right next to him. His hand approached the gun but the man grabbed his leg before he could grab the gun. The man now had a knife and was ready to stab. Jack tried to dodge the hit but failed. The man stabbed him in the chest. But apart from "ouch!", there was nothing. The man didn't understand and wanted to stab Jack a second time but before he could, he was shot with Jack's gun. Jim shot him.

Yeah, hope your parents aren't as harsh. =3

Chapter 15 - He won't mind, I'm sure of it

"Well, you're lucky he didn't cut you" Said the Red Hat Guy to Sven tying the knocked out torturer up. They were still in that cave "He almost did." stated Sven. "Well, there's a difference between did and almost did. Either way, we're gonna get him somewhere where he won't be able to skin anything alive. The poor guy, this priest brainwashed him with all these religious things since he was 6. Beaten him throughout the way..." said the Red Hat guy carrying the now tied up torturer. "...We're gonna try to heal him from this mental illness he has and maybe he will even be something useful in life" both were talking while walking from the cave.

Out of the cave, they've noticed a bunch of dead flares all over the place. Blab's mecha was completely destroyed, Blab looked very sad because of it. They've also noticed that Jack was missing. "Where's Jack?" asked Sven. No one seemed to know. But that was not the most important right now, the most important now was to get Bruno out, Jack will find a way out. "I'm sure he won't mind us not looking for him for a little while... He isn't the type to keep anger in him." Said Blab. "What do we do with him?" asked Safoya looking at the knocked out torturer that Red Hat Guy was carrying. Red Hat Guy didn't answer, just put him in the back of the truck. "Are we going for Bruno or no?" asked Red Hat Guy. No one was willing to disagree. The role of the driver was taken by Louise since Jack wasn't available. They were driving through the desert for quite a while.

A certain amount of time later, the truck arrived near the Phoenix's base on Earth. It was a huge building made of metal. Red Hat Guy was the only one that left the truck. "Most of them here know me by my name, but no one knows my face. I've got a secret identity, they won't recognize me, you however they will. So you just stay here and wait for me to settle this up." after saying this, Red Hat Guy entered Phoenix's base. Red Hat Guy had to choose his words very carefully, this wasn't his first con but it was the first one where Phoenix was the one to be conned. It was very risky. "Don't screw this up, don't screw this up". Inside of the base, right infront of him was a secretary. She nicely told him where the boss of this building was.

A few minutes later, he was already in the boss's office, sitting in a chair. "I heard you were hunting down my courier, his name's Bruno. I'm willing to pay you off his bounty and his transport to Earth for a reasonable price." said the Red Hat Guy. The boss wasn't satisfied quite yet, "What's the reasonable price?" asked the boss. "One million and a half." said the Red Hat Guy firmly. The boss was now satisfied. Who cares about him right now anyway? They have shaken hands and the boss was about to call the Horizon about the undeniable offer Red Hat guy gave them.

It was almost as if he succeeded. But no, crap always happens when you need it the least. The alarm started yelling. "INTRUDER ALERT!!! INTRUDER ALERT!!!" and the boss who had paranoia picked up the closest weapon he could see and started pointing it at Red Hat guy. "Why are you here?!" asked the boss loudly because of the alarms. "To pay off the bounty of my courier, I told you already!" Two guards came through the door and grabbed Red Hat Guy. "We're gonna keep you at least until we figure out what's going on." they came out of the door and they've seen two more guards trying to hold an another intruder. The torturer. "God's sake..."


Back in the truck, you could've heard the alarms, Louise was ready to press the gas paddle. They didn't need more trouble than it already is. It's now that Sven noticed the torturer was gone. "WHERE IS HE?!" Thought Sven. The guards soon shown up, they saw the truck. Louise didn't hesitate and started driving like crazy. The guards were shooting but they stopped very soon. Great, now they had three problems. Jack's gone, Red Hat Guy is captured and Bruno Is still there waiting to be dead. Officially the worst day ever.

Chapter 16 - Rumors are to be believed

Bruno and the assistant were still waiting inside of the construction site. It was calm but the sounds of Phoenix soldiers outside were ruining the beautiful silence. Both knew they're never going to be found, they're hiding in the most ridiculous place where no self-respecting person would wonder to check. They were sitting there for a few hours already, the Phoenix soldiers were still there. More trucks showed up. The assistant was almost bored. He had this little bit of fear inside of himself that they will find them, but it was taking too much time. Good thing his device was equipped with some virtual card games.

It wasn't long till Bruno became bored too. He wasn't scared, he knew they will never find them. During the long time that was passing, he was just wondering why the Phoenix was hunting them. He was also wondering how Sven and others are going down on Earth. "Maybe I shouldn't have lied about the Labyrinth that we and Jack made up to make them go there..." thought Bruno. "But on the other hand, it was for a good thing. They're gonna save Louise and others that didn't make it and most importantly, end this whole flare madness..." The assistant interrupted his thinking. "Up for Blackjack? We're gonna be here for God knows how long. Quite tiresome isn't it?" asked the assistant. "Yeah, it is." answered Bruno.

The assistant and Bruno were taking turns while playing blackjack on assistant's device. Bruno wasn't very good at it, the game was programmed to read your face to see if you're bluffing or not. Bruno wasn't good at it. The game almost always knew when Bruno had bad cards and knew what to do. The assistant, on the other hand, seemed to handle the game quite well. Bruno accused him of cheating but it wasn't cheating, it were several months of training and practice. Soon, they both became bored of the game as well. So they started playing Old Atlas (with the cities before the WW3). Bruno knew geography quite well since he lived before WW3, the assistant however was born a few years after WW3. Soon, this too became boring.

Out of no where, a dark ship showed up mowing all of the Phoenix soldiers. Surprised, they started to fight back but the ship was large and had a very strong shield so it didn't do any damage. Most of the Phoenix soldiers started to retreat. This short firefight got Bruno's and assistant's attention very easily. They both soon figured out, those were the Tree Killers. The ship landed on the ground in the middle of the ruins it just caused. The ship opened its gate and let the Tree Killer soldiers go out. They were all armoured in red and black suits and had laser guns. Their leader, Tree, came out of the ship as well. His helmet was hiding his emotions, so it was hard to tell what was going on in his head.




He had small rocket launchers attached to his wrists. Once everyone, including Tree, got out, Tree commanded his troops to start looking for a man named Bruno. Bruno? "What's your business with me, Tree?" thought Bruno to himself. Both Bruno and the assistant were looking outside to see what was happening, apparently, Tree Killers were more clever when it came to searching. They were looking for them very close to them they almost spotted them a few times. The troops were the only people searching, Tree was standing there watching. After a few hours of wait, they were still not found. The troops returned to Tree and told him that them couldn't find anyone. Tree was still calm, as if he knew that his troops won't find them anyway.

The next thing he did was walk. Walk exactly where Bruno and the assistant were hidden. In less than a minute, he already spotted both of them and the troops spotted them too. Bruno had a mix of "impressed" and "terrified" going on in his head. How did he know EXACTLY where they were hidden? Both Bruno and the assistant were soon tied up and carried away of their hiding spot. "So... What's the deal with me?" asked Bruno while being carried by the Tree Killer troop. "I ask the questions" said Tree. Because of the helmet, his voice almost sounded electric, which made him in this situation even more intimidating. "Okay then, would you mind asking yourself what's your deal with him?" asked the assistant mocking Tree.

The two troops that were carrying the assistant dropped him on the ground and Tree kicked him in the stomach making him fall. He then pointed his wrist rockets on the assistant's head. "You keep talking, I cut your tongue off." said Tree in his electric voice. The troops picked the assistant up again. They carried them infront of the ship. "Tell me about the labyrinth." said Tree. "What labyrinth?" asked Bruno. In response, Tree punched him. "Tell me about the labyrinth of the flame bird." said Tree. "Oh god..." Thought Bruno. "Looks like the lies have been taken seriously." Getting no response from Bruno, Tree decided to carry them inside the ship and head back to Earth. Questioning them here won't do any good.
