New Spawn/Lobby.

Yes, exactly. The old spawn definitely made you feel more relaxed. And as Eva said ( so true )

Now, some people are emotionally attached to the old spawn and some aren't. I respect it.
About the portal thing,
Not only did the portals make the spawn prettier with their lil stories and themes but it also gave players a brief idea of what each minigame was about. Now it's more like " hey, here we got some games go play "
It ain't all about the games doe.

 

Here is my opinion on most of the statements in this thread.


I agree with you that it is empty. It has a ton of space to walk around, but it lacks buildings.

I disagree with you when you said there are no places to hang out. I can think of a bunch of places to hang out. There's a lot of empty space to hang out in. It's easier to hide from people in the new lobby.

I don't know what to say about your opinion on the easter eggs. You might as well be stepping over a bunch of easter eggs. That's what easter eggs are. They're secrets in the map. They are hard to discover.

I agree with you on this statement. People w/out /fly will have a very hard time exploring. But if they want to explore, why can't they just donate to the server store. It's only $10. If they have enough money to afford a PC then they have enough money to buy /fly.

It is very similar to the Hypixel layout, but it's not exactly the same. IMO, it looks 100 times better than the Hypixel lobby. The J&H build team spent a lot of time building this new lobby. Take time to appreciate their hard work. Remember, they built this new lobby for us, the players. They didn't build it on some singleplayer world for just them to see.

If there's not much to do, then go to a minigame or something. A lobby is not meant to provide you with something to do. A lobby is a place where you can think about what minigame you want to play. A lobby is a place where you can go to if one of the minigames crashes. The J&H build team doesn't have to build these nice things for us. They choose to build these things for us. ItsJ&H don't have to provide us with a lobby or even a server for that matter. They kept the server running because they love the community that they have created.

The server focuses on the community, a lot. They add new minigames and features because they care about the community, not because they have to.

The server lobby is very unique. It may be similar to the Hypixel lobby but nothing is exactly the same. The Hypixel lobby and the J&H lobby were made different from each other, just like god made people different from each other.

The old spawn was very small, and by very small I mean VERY small. I did enjoy the old lobby, though. It was a good lobby, but IMO, the new one is much better. However, all good things must come to an end, and will possibly be replaced with something even better. I dated this girl once, she was very beautiful, but my relationship with her came to an end and I met this girl who was way better than her. Just like my ex-girlfriend was replaced with something better, this lobby was replaced with something better. And someday, this new lobby will be replaced with something better, and we will all look back to this lobby, and smile.

 

Alright first of all, just because there is empty space doesn't mean there's "more place for people to hang out" no it's the exact opposite. Players don't have a place to gather and chill but instead they get all scattered and all you see is spam.

Second, about the Easter eggs, I've found most of them. And most of em are either heads or builds from the old spawn.

Thirdly, people SHOULDNT be FORCED to buy fly.

Also, if the server focused on the "community" they'd give the "community" a place to chill and hang out instead of making them feel like manipulated retarded playing machines.
Sorry to say, it ain't all about the games.

I'll elaborate a bit more on what I said in Willy's thread: When I think of J&H, I think of silliness and friendliness. I don't think of a huge fortress straight outta the Renaissance.
The new lobby doesn't fit the tone of J&H: it feels serious, while the videos they make are not serious at all.
The old lobby was a lot more colourful and a lot more diverse. Even if regulars found all the easter eggs, a lot of newcomers probably didn't.

Still, me and a lot of other people are probably just still attached to the old lobby. It's a sudden change, kind of like a new YouTube layout.
Eventually we all may get used to it.

 

My point is, some people like the new lobby and some people don't. I'm not against the new lobby, and I am not with it. I really don't care about the new lobby. I don't spend most of my time in the lobby. That's just boring. My point, a lobby is unneeded, but the builders worked hard on it so we might as well appreciate it.

There ARE more places for people to hang out. There may not be any specific places, but the whole map is a place to hang out. Besides, the lobby is a place to wait for your friends, so that you can play an actual minigame. It's not meant to be the starting point AND the reference point. It is only a starting point.

How do you know if you found ALL of the easter eggs? Are you God or something? I know who Jesus Christ is, and you are not him! You are NOT omniscient!

I never said that players should be forced to buy /fly. Do you even listen?

Most people that play on this server, actually play the minigames. Not very many people stay in the lobby the whole damn time.

P.S. The girlfriend comment was relevant to the topic.

I don't want to begin a flame war, so I'm just going to ignore this thread from now on.

 

This lobby just doesn't make me feel like I'm playing IJaH... From what I remember from IJaH, it's a silly YouTube channel/Server full with fun and colours. The old lobby was EXACTLY what I imagined of IJaH, colours, random statues, biomes filled with signs with jokes on them etc. etc.

The new lobby seems a little dark. It looks WAY too serious and the colours are gone completely. They replaced several beautiful portals into one giant one which leads you to your compass... then why putting it in the first place? Or why do we have compasses then? I know it's supposed to be "efficient" but... that's sad... When a new mini game was announced I wasn't always happy for the mini game itself, but for the fact that there will be a new colourful portal in lobby to look at. All of this is gone now. But hey, now it's "efficient".

I really love the builds you made in the new lobby, clearly you guys put a lot of effort into them and they're fun to discover, just not as much as it was in the old lobby.

 

Well you clearly didn't pay attention to what I said either so stop complaining.
You could take the time and see how many times I said that this is my PERSONAL OPINION but oh well.
Your point is basicly pointless and you think as a manipulated minigame playing machine so this thread is not even for you to comment on.
There's a pretty big difference if you pay a lil attention, you're here for the minigames, I'm here to chill with my friends.
This thread is for people that care about the community, and are here to chill with their friends and have fun. This thread is not for people like you.

People that built the spawn showed me where the easter eggs are so, I'm not a god, but I've done some research? You should try that technique too it's pretty nice. ( plus it'll make you sound a lot less stupid and unaware of things )
P.S You "gf" expample is just bad, nobody cares, you could have used something else.

This is a debate on the spawn. Why or how people are turning this into a argument is beyond me. In my perspective of this whole thread is someone is attached to the old spawn and the other trying to make a rebuttal on every argument attempting to 'fight' for the old spawn and seriously it's a tad bit ridiculous overviewing both peoples opinions.

Now that's out of the way, I am all for the new spawn. it shows depth and detail like no spawn from this server I have seen. Sure it's lacking some old spawn qualities but I am a bit of a building fan boy and seeing a structure like that on my favourite server tops everything for me. It's easy to implement more friendlier things for the spawn and I think the new one should stay.
