    Rest in power Kayden.
    CW: ableism, transphobia
so recently, A transgender man with Asperger’s, who became incredibly well known through the Internet after a touching video of him with his service dog last year, has been shot and killed by police officers in Arizona. Kayden Clarke, 24 years old, was shot by police officers and later died in hospital after officer were called to his residence for a suicide call. Disgusting not only did the police MURDER an innocent transman, they misgendered him in a statement after doing so. We need to stop denying people's identity, dead-naming people, and educate people. Kayden was going into transition and went to over 6 doctors and they said that they needed "to cure his autism" before he can start T. There is no cure to a neurological disorder. Kayden made a video about it last month, you can go to his channel to watch it. Not going to post it here because it contains heavy swearing.

where they misgender him for the purpose of clickbait.
To call Kayden anything other than Kayden, or to refer to him as female spits in the face of his memory, it shows disrespect and it should be called out whenever it is seen. It's a horrible, disrespectful thing to do and it disgusts me.

    Unfortunate that he died, yes.
    Sad that it happened, yes.
Not the best choice by the police, maybe. They have methods besides lethal force such as rubber bullets, tazors, and peper ball guns, but it was a heat of the moment decision.
    Innocent, no.
See it was not the fact that he was transgender that is why police shot him. What the media barely points out is the big thing that you are missing:
IF this situation is true, the police had every right to use lethal force, seeing that there lives were in danger.
See if you take away the fact that he is transgender, say it was some straight white male, and this hypothetical person came at the police with a knife, would you blame them for shooting? They have a family to get to when they get off work, they were defending them selves.
See there is such thing as suicide by cop, and that could be the case here.
So saying that the police "murdered" someone in this case is incredibly bias.

That siad prehaps the cops could of had a better tactic, usealy they try to use a combination of peperball guns and a riot shield in situations like this. However they are still protected to use lethal force, sense Kayden presented the threat first.

What the outrage should be at is the lack of help. See this should of been avoided, there needs to be more help for transgender people, especially in southern US, were homophobia/transphobia is still the norm.
People also need to be more educated, the fact that this (liberal) news outlet referes to Kayden with female pronouns proves this.

Im not saying he deserved to die, I think that it should of been prevented, however its also not the police's fault.

    Let me get this straight.
The police went there to 'rescue' a suicidal 'woman'
    and ended up killing him.

“She had one knife that we know of, she had something else we're not sure what it was, the officers said it was dark inside the room.

I'm pretty sure lethal force wasn't neccessary.
She only had a knife ffs...
"The officers said it was dark inside the room" So flip the light switch before firing your gun?!?
How many police would it have taken to get him to the ground? It wasn't as if it were 1 officer, alone. He had backup.
Too many police are getting away with murder, imo.
    RIP Kayden.

This is of course a sad story, but according to the book they had all the rights to shoot this person.
They are allowed to open fire when they see a threat, in this case the person approaching them with a knife in hand is seen as a threat and they are allowed to shoot the person until it lets go of the knife. This is why a man was shot 37 times by two police officers, he was already dead but his dead body was still holding the knife. This shows how wrong it is that Police is allowed to do this, but on the other hand it's not like this case is always the case. We don't know why the officers decided to shoot because there were no body cams, which every police officer armed with a gun should have.
It's a sad story that another person has to be killed by US police officers again. It needs to stop, too many people get shot and killed by police officers.
