I don't think appreciating staff by making threads 24/7 should be a way players show their appreciation. Same goes with player appreciation threads. You could always post on someone's profile and thank them or tell them on ts, but making threads to show appreciation to the owners, staff and players in general are all not good ideas. I mean, if people want to, then they have every right to, but I just think it is unneeded. Not wrong to do, just unneeded. Again, this is just my opinion and you don't have to agree. No hard feelings, I just don't agree. I do enjoy staff being appreciated though. I'm not saying anything about that because you guys do deserve appreciation, but maybe in a different way is all that I'm trying to get at.

Why isn't it a good idea to post an appreciation thread?

Because in the past, people have done it for attention, likes and to boost their reputation. It makes people look like fanboys to others and I just don't think it is the most effective way to show appreciation to someone. I get your points though.

I never asked or implied that I wanted a so called "community day"... but it would be nice to occasionally appreciate the "non credited" players not just the staff members.

It can also be considered as a like farm or getting attention (not necessarily in this case-). Another point I must raise is that you can make the staff feel more appreciated by appreciating them individually, instead of appreciating everybody in a thread and give them a special unique message.

Why do we need a day to be nice and appreciate each other? Why is this thread a thing? Why is it a debate over whether there should be a staff day or a player day? Literally why is it that you all need a day to be respectful and nice to staff members? And why do you think that since there is a "Staff day," that there should be a player day?

Will Jessiee's good questions ever be answered?
Will debates like these ever stop?
Check back next time someone replies to this and complains.
Thank you for reading. -flips hair-

    "we work hard !!!111!!!"

Please tell me how clicking some buttons and typing some letters to ban someone is hard.
    Sometimes y'all are so dramatic.

It's actually a bit more than that.
Believe it or not, the staff team does a lot to help the server.
Some people feel it their duty to downgrade what staff members do and I really don't know what the staff team has done to make some people feel the need to constantly say that staff do nothing and say all the staff are rude.
It's more than just pressing some buttons and typing.
Am I saying it's incredibly hard and that we should be praised every second? No.
I don't care if staff are praised at all because I'm not a staff member just for the recognition.

Staff deserve thanks for running the server.
Players deserve thanks for playing and donating.
Both are necessary to keep the server going.
    Thanks for everyone.

Being a staff member is time consuming, it's a commitment, it's challenging and be a bit hard... but it still is just "clicking" some buttons and pressing some letters down.

It all comes down to this. Y'all are arguing and complaining that some people deserve recognition for whatever and whatever when this is Minecraft, which is a game meant for entertainment. It's cool to he compassionate, but everyone deserves it no matter what they do. It shouldn't matter that players keep the server up or that staff moderate it. It's a two way thing. Without one, the other wouldn't exist. We should all be thanking each other. Not arguing that there's not really a need to thank one group because the other group deserves it too. We all work as a team here and if we didn't, the j/h network wouldn't exist. We all deserve recognition, including staff, including players.

I'm a little ashamed because you were once a staff and I need to explain this.
As you (should) know, it's not just clicking and pressing buttons, it does, as you said
You need to put thought into everything you do. Everything, that goes for warning/ banning people and even if it's just a simple message/ thread on the server/ forums. Being a staff member is a lot more work then it looks and most people only see that once they get a position as staff, this is why i am quite ashamed. I also find it really sad that a thread with such a nice intention had to become a warzone of people screaming "We deserve to be appreciated for a day" "appreciate us". Why don't we all just appreciate each other everyday.

Please quote where I (or we) ever said "appreciate us", we were stating that it would be nice to be appreciated. Then I can clear things up for those who don't understand.

You don't need to call me out just because I was staff, there is a reason I resigned and I don't like to be reminded of my rein of being staff.
Anyways, as some others mentioned it'd be much more formal to personally appreciate that player on their profile stating why you're "appreciating" them, not just appreciating everybody in one thead. Even though the intention of the thread is clear, it'd be a bit more nicer to appreciate each staff member personally because it's the thought that counts.

Nobody is screaming anything. As a community, we're spreading our opinions and exchanging ideas on this specific topic. This is not a "Warzone" as nobody has gotten hurt. Don't use 'Warzone' as a metaphor because war is far more serious.

A solution for that has already been made.

Furthermore, if you'd like to continue the discussion please PM me- because I'm not going to discuss this anymore unless completely necessary.

The same people that liked your post are the same people who have staff apps and want staff. Please inform them about the hardship of the typing of the letters. Yes, without giving much out, you're correct. It's pretty simple. I get on, ban hackers, watch the servers and do that until I'm bored. You know what else is dramatic? Finding the need to call out people on a thread that was suppose to be about them, but as @Katy_ said, it's two way thing. It's one of those things where you have to see it for yourself to understand. Opinions are opinions and everyone has them. I just think yours is close-minded.
    And for this.

Oh my... Did you resign because the typing of the letters were hard?
Here's your resigning thread. Look at all those people who thanked you for what you did. Everyone has their reasons, but I can't find the word to describe to you how I think of this. I think the word is "disappointed." You know what staff is. Don't act differently now that you aren't.

And about the thread in general. This is literally a thread on how we need a day to "admire" staff. How sad.
Okay, I'm done posting. So glad to see you all for this overly opinionated thread. I can't wait to see you all at the next one. Say hi to the kids for me.
