Hey. What does everyone think about Minecraft 1.9? I think this is probably the worst and best update to ever happen. 1.9 is also known as the combat update due to the amount of combat related things added Pros: Arrows with potion effects: This is a really cool feature in my opinion. You can now poision/blind someone from a long range. VERY useful for PvP. You could also help a friend from a distance away. Maybe give them some regen or something. Dual Wielding: In 1.9, you can press F and hold 2 different items at the same time. This will be very useful for mining. You could hold a pickaxe in one hand and a torch in the other instead of swapping back and forth between the two. Cons: New combat system: Once 1.9 comes out, spam clicking in PvP will no longer be effective. There will now be a cooldown for attacking other players. (1 - 2 seconds). This does allow for more strategic attacks, rather than whoever clicks the fastest wins, but just ruins the whole concept of PvP.
I personally like it. Jitter-clicking has been pretty annoying, because when I do it I feel like a jerk and when someone else does it it makes me mad. I also find it refreshing they're changing up the combat system.
I honestly like the arrow effects but I strongly dislike the new sword attack damage whatnot. Quite annoying for those of us who worked up our cps.
My opinion is I really hate the new boats/wings. First of all, why do we need wings? Like really. Why? Second, the boats we had were fine. I also don't like that we need shovels to ride in a boat. Other then that, the new 1.9 update will be good from my opinion. The pvp is a bit controversial, but I think the players will get used to it.
It looks nice! With the Elytra it looks really nice. I think they just go to much on one update. But what will come in 1.10 or 2.0! But like TheRealSmg, I don't like the new boats.
My opinion about 1.9 is awesome.1.9 looks like an amazing update with most of the new stuff that is being added.I'm looking forward for the update to come.
Tru tho But when I was typing that, I was thinking that wings seemed like a thing that would be best fit to stick with regular minecraft mods, except for implementing it into the actual game.
Well, you can't craft the Elytras. You need to find them in the end fortress. If J&H don't want wings, they can easily deny access to them via no end(The end is pretty useless anyways lol)
Honestly the new combat system is going to change everything for me, who as been around the normal combat system for a long time and for the Jerry and Harry server and all their mini games are all combat/pvp based, but 1.9 is going to bring so much new stuff which is technically isn't such a bad thing.
