so basically i've been going to an art school this year (performing & visual) and i don't draw as much in my freetime but i'm gonna share some stuff w/ y'all Spoiler: art thing #1 ok so for art thing #1, this was an assignment we had to do (or half of one). we were assigned an animal and had to do portraits of half their face on one paper realistically, and the other half abstracted in any way (pointillism, cartoonized, literal abstract etc.) so i did a tiger skull and i used all india ink (i know some things are a bit off but you can't really erase ink & i'm clumsy af and kept spilling it so the bottom fang is a bit pointy) i also did the silhouette of the tiger in pure black india ink and diluted it with water for the background. the two drawings (realistic & abstract) line up together side by side proportionately if you put them together Spoiler: my reference pic no, using a reference doesn't make you less talented when drawing something realistic why? theres how we see something in our head and how it actually is in terms of proportions and stuff. for example, everyone has the bright pink chubby image of a pig when they're actually pale pink and fuzzy and more proportionately piggy than your cartoon version. you don't need to use a ref when doodling but when drawing an actual thing, its the best you got. also idk how tf to draw a tiger in the first place so i had to research anatomy. moving on Spoiler: art thing #2 lmao honestly i copied off somebody elses thing for inspo basically b/c i was bored & needed something to draw quick and I've legitimately had artists block the past 6 months but yeah this is cool i guess. it only took me an hour or so & some of the shading is quite lazy i did draw other stuff in the past few months but those are the only things i have photos of. if you guys want, i can do an updated art thread in the future with more than 2 things
that's better than what I can do anyways, I'm only able to draw Pokemon and stick figures. Other than that, those look great, and like I said before, better than what I could do c:
:0 I'm also in an Art course in school, and I gotta say, that is AMAZING. We've only learnt how to do still-life sketches with pencil, so...xD Also, that is way better than mine c: Keep it up :)
It isn't an art course, the entire school is oriented around arts. It's performing and fine arts, but thank you for the compliments! xx I started this school year so I'm mostly self taught KAY BAE YOUR PRESENCE SLAYS MY LIFE
