So, with all the buzz surrounding the new Star Wars movie, I've decided to do a review on a game that many use the term "dog shit with terrible gameplay and overpriced DLC" to describe, but is this criticism well founded? Absolutely. Alright, so with that out of the way, let's go over the good things. The graphics are good... I suppose. See for yourself. Distinctly average. The mere appearance of Boba Fett is cause for some praise. Keyword: Some. So, with that out of the way, it's time for the bad things. Oh boy, do I have a lot to talk about. There's no campaign, it only focuses on the Original Trilogy, which would be fine if it had more characters and maps. There's no Yoda, Chewbacca, Ben Kenobi, and Boba Fett is the only bounty hunter you get to play as. Compare this to say, Star Wars: Battlefront 2, released in 2005. The gameplay in that game is far better, there's a campaign, and it features Prequel AND Original Trilogy era content. The only thing that game is lacking in is graphics, and that can be chocked up to it being 2005. Overall, Battlefront is a mediocre game that definitely doesn't hold a candle to games such as the original Battlefront. Once again, EA takes a classic series and turns it into a marketing ploy.
When I heard EA was publishing this game, I knew how it wasn't going to deliver. They removed Galactic Conquest, Space Battles, Instant Action, Class system, Clone Wars, CTF, Conquest, Assault, Campaign, Hunt Mode and Heroes vs Villains mode in the new Battlefront. Those were the reason I loved the old Battlefronts, then EA removes everything I loved about the franchise. That's not the only problem, the removal of the class system makes it an unbalanced game, and the lack of maps is even more disappointing, and the final and probably one of the most disappointing things about the game is the DLC, looks like there's a lot of DLC, and it costs $50 for a season pass.
