What do YOU think about the Starbucks Red Cup 'Controversy'

Words can't express how stupid these people are. It's a CUP. CALM DOWN.

 

I think it's very stupid.
There are more important ways people should be spending their times other than protesting starbucks cups.
People have to understand that Christianity isn't the only religion.

I don't think Christians should be forcing Christmas onto non Christians because not everyone celebrates it and they are acting like they have had a great wrongdoing made against them, when really it's the other religions who should be offended.
The whole thing is literally so stupid I don't understand how people are actually offended by it.

The fact that people took the time to conclude that red necessarily equals Christmas is pretty sad. It's like, you just HAD to give a fuck. Well why don't you fuck with your own property and get yourself some fucking red wreaths. Damn. Not to mention Starbucks serves not you, but all people.

I think so too. I'm trying to look at this logically, however. Because I'm not caring about superficial things, unlike some people, I don't care whether it's red and green or not. I celebrate Christmas.

The larger point I'm trying to make here is the idea that maybe we as a society are going a little overboard with political correctness.

 

Why aren't these "Christians" outraged by famine
in Africa? War in the Middle East? People dying in
America because they can't afford healthcare...
Because its easier to be outraged at a cup.
They don't sound too "Christian" to me.

 

Green, white, and red are pretty much xmas colours.

The big "fuss" about this is that there are people out there who celebrate different holidays or don't celebrate at all. Jewish people celebrate their own form of Christmas known as "Hanukkah", and the colors used then are blue and silver, perhaps they'll be offended by having a green and red cup?

 

To be honest, it is just a dang cup. No need to argue over a cup. If you don't like the cup, see if they have some ordinary cups you can have instead.(Atleast that is what they do at my Starbucks) Simple as that.

 

Just because there are some Christians who complain about the red cup does not mean all Christians complain about it. Don't stereotype a whole group of people because of what some people do. Most true Christians do care about issues such as war and healthcare. As myself being a Christian, most people don't even know about the red cup backlash.

I put the word 'Christians' in quotation marks because they're obviously not the best of Christianity has to offer, with their idiotic obsession with a coffee cup.

The people who got mad at this give a bad name to Christians. I'm a Christian. I have no problem with the cup or other religions. Yet it's small group of people who flip out over this that give people stereotypes about the whole of Christianity, myself included. I just ask you don't generalize us like that because every true Christian is fine with plain red cups.

Honestly I think Starbucks did this because plain cups are cheaper, and it's not sac religious in any way. I don't see a problem.

 

I don't know what's sadder, the fact that people get pissed at this, ir the fact that they don't have anything better to worry about than a cup at a coffee shop.
