[History] Discuss your favourite moment in History.

Alright.
So, I have never really seen a thread like this, and so I thought, why not create one?

Rules.
Keep it appropriate. Any inappropriate replies will be deleted /and warned.
Explain why it is your favourite moment.
Try to explain some parts in it too, to allow for everyone to learn.

Spoiler: My favourite part in History.

Unfortunately, it has been a while since I learned this, so I will need to research more soon, but my favourite part is when the Russian revolution happened.

Anyone who knows me knows I like Russia. Even look at my ts avatar. and my alt's name.

So basically, what happened was the Russian workforce was annoyed at how the Czar ruled the country. So they took the family out to a nearby forest and shot them all.
There were a few leaders in between, mainly Vladamir Lenin. He lead everyone through out the revolution.
Leon Trotsky was another leader. He was exiled by another one of the leaders when that leader began gaining power.
After Lenin died, the leader who exiled Trotsky took over.

Joseph Stalin.

After exiling Trotsky, his communist idea came to life.
He took over Russia and became the outright leader.
The workers were working more and more for less and less.
Food rations were shortened.
People went hungry and often were starving.
No one owned anything anymore. Farms which they worked upon were owned by the state. The state owned the animals, the food, the land, everything.
Stalin ruled over Russia for nearly 30 years, before dying due to health problems at the age of 54 (iirc).

There is a lot more to the revolution but I am only recalling this from memory so don't kill me >n<

I like it because it shows two different ideas being placed on something so big. And because of Russia.

When the germans finally took down the berlin wall. Even though I was not born yet at that time, I think it's one of the most powerful events to occur in history.

I like it because it unified people who were seperated and broken into 2. It truly showed that no matter how much darkness someone or something goes through, in this case Germany and its people, there will be sunshine sooner or later.

My favorite moment of history would be The Progressive Era.

Spoiler: The Progressive Movement

My favorite part of history is The Progressive Era, or an era in United States history from the late 1800s to the early 1900s. Basically, it's a crap ton of reform that happened when Theodore Roosevelt was in office. The other presidents who helped in the reform were Taft and Wilson.

The reason why I like this particular era is because of what happened before this era: the Gilded Age. The Gilded Age was an era akin to AgarPVP. The rich got richer while the poor got poorer. Anyway, the Progressive Era sought to expose the corruption of the Gilded Age and impose laws to improve the economic state of the country. There was also political reform (as politicians took bribes from the opulent) and social reform (like prohibiting children from working in factories or mines).

 

Spoiler: My Favorite Historical Event

Well, it's not a "moment" but, without a doubt, I love the Renaissance. The aptly-named ascension from the Middle Ages would have ripple effects for centuries to come and produced some of the greatest works of art, scientific discoveries, and societal advancements of all time.

So many important things happened.
The Beatles/British Invasion, Woodstock, the Vietnam War,
the assasinations of President Kennedy
and Martin Luther King Jr., the moon landing, etc.

Spoiler: NES- THE SECOND BREAKTHROUGH OF VIDEO GAMES

The NES was seriously a breakthrough. It defines retro games and the beginnings of Nintendo's Gaming Industry. Being the huge Nintendo fanboy I am, I loved this so much. Of course, the games themselves where immediately instant classics and weren't like anything that the public had seen at the time in terms of memory space, graphics and game play. That alone is enough to make the NES not only one of the best console of all time, but the number one most important event in video game history.

 

When the universe was born because of the amazing fact that the universe started from almost nothing :3.
