Okay so last night I was just chilling, playing Terraria. I had a break from that game and decided I wanted to play Minecraft for a little bit. Closed Terraria opened Minecraft, clicked play.. Then a separate window is created saying:

"Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.
Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit now."

Weird right? I just wanted to play Minecraft. So I clicked the 'Ok' button, and it brings me to the launcher again. This is what it says:

    "Invalid maximum heap size: -Xmx4G
The specified size exceeds the maximum representable size."

I've been playing Minecraft on 4G for years now, and this happens. Just out of no where, randomly. Yes, I've uninstalled Java and reinstalled it.

Anyone feel free to help, I need it lol. I've done a little research and people have got the same problem but they've been waiting months, without answers yeh. Don't feel like waiting till 2018 to play Minecraft again.

    yeah cheers big ears.

Did you try reinstalling the game itself?

Yes. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Minecraft. When I try to open the new installation my anti-virus software warns me. I do scan it and remove it. The error also comes up:

    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Minecraft \MinecraftLauncher.exe

Insufficeint system resources exist to complete the requested service."

Well In that case, I have no idea what to do. Sorry.

My only suggestion would be to keep doing research until you find a solution to the problem.

This is because of what happens in the written java source code. Try lowering it down to 3G and see what happens.
If that doesn't work, then I recommend changing it to 5G, because it might be that it took up all of that 4G of space.

Right next to edit and report on your first post(the creation of the thread), there's lock. Click it, then click yes.
