Confession thread, as I do need to say this.

This is not only a confession thread, but also a clarification thread that I must say. Please, I know most of you will probably be like "Why didn't you ever tell us" or "Why did you say you had something else". Please, refrain from any of that stuff, also please refrain from any hate to this thread, as that is not needed.

I'm actually diagnosed with High-Functioning Autism. Most of you would be like "It doesn't matter, your still the person you are" but since I said I had Aspergers Syndrome for a long time, I thought I might as well clear some things out. It's not that I was lying, it's that I thought I actually had it until now. Especially since I recently had a discussion with my mom about it and asked her and she apparently told me no and how I was diagnosed with High-Functioning Autism. In the end, neither of us were lying because since High-Functioning Autism and Aspergers Syndrome are pretty much the same thing with only a few differences, she probably got confused between the two. It's kind of ironic how she once told me a long time ago that I had Aspergers and now how she told me I actually never had it. It was expected that I had it, but that's in the past.

Also, since many of you will be like "Well shouldn't you know your diagnoses?", yes but you have got to understand. I was diagnosed with High-Functioning Autism and ADHD ever since I was 3. A few years later, I wen't to see the school psychologist and was examined to have just High-Functioning Autism. Apparently that was in the fourth grade, and I can assure you that most people aren't going to remember certain things that happened in the fourth grade besides big events like going to an amusement park, etc. Going to a doctors office is actually a typical thing that happens moderately, but not often however.

I hope this clarified facts and wether or not the golfball made it through the hole. Please do not post any hate comments, as those will be reported and deleted.

I respect the bravery it took to type this out, but this trend is getting quite irritating. It isn't a competition to see who has the worst long term illness/disorder. Things are getting too personal, and yes, I don't have to read these threads. However, you title it with "Confession thread"; all the more reason to not be able to avoid it.

You're the same person to me despite the autism you speak of. Isn't that what you are all looking for when posting this? For us to say, "You're the same person to me." You know no one is going to say, "fuck you autistic moron" or some other obnoxious thing, so why is there the need to post this? No one is going to think any different of you, but people reading this leave with that TMI feeling. We're not going to say that because it's rude, but it's the truth. This stuff needs to end.

I respect what you said, and I wish you the best. Nothing I say here is meant to hurt you or anyone else who made these type of threads. I'm just suggesting an alternative that's better for all of us. :)

 

The only reason I made the thread was to clarify how I didn't have a disorder that I once said I had. I apologize for all of the badgering with the trend, but it had to be done. :)

Just think of it as more a clarification thread rather then a confession thread, as that is probably how I should have referred to it as.

 

Why do you need to clarify though? As I said before, no one remembers you even said it to begin with because we look past it. This is the internet where you don't need to clarify something as personal as a mental disorder. :/

 

I guess you may have a point. After all, everybody was making these sort of threads about having disorders and having specific genders, etc. I kind of got drawn in to it with making this thread. On second thought maybe I should lock it.
