    Hello.
So basically my laptop is extremely old. As in, extremely old. It was my brothers, then my sisters, then my brothers again, then my dads... blabla now it's mine. I've had it for a really long time and yes, it's extremely old and honestly, it's crappy.
I really want to buy a new pc/laptop, but the thing is.. my dad thinks our family has priorities. I totally understand what he means, but I just think that it's really unfair that my siblings got new devices, and I didn't.
So basically, the help I need is either some good/strong quality laptops/pcs that I can purchase or a way to convince my dad to get one in the first place that's not too expensive, (since we have priorities.)
I don't really have like a specific price range, but I saw online and a gaming PC Monitor+System Unit were under 1000 dollars. I'd appreciate it if it was around that price. xP
So, any suggestions for a new one or tips to convince my dad?
    P.S:
I was comparing prices and noticed that some laptops were more expensive than getting a whole PC itself. o-o
I really want a PC, but if it comes down to getting a laptop I'll do it. :3

Can you actually stop posting a build that might be relevant for professional rendering? I have a computer that I built myself that performs almost the same for at least $500 less.

Building a PC yourself is always the way to go if you're on a budget. Is this meant to include a monitor (and also a keyboard/mouse/sound output)?

Building a PC is a bit of an issue because I'm not sure if my dad has the time/knows how to do it, and neither do I, my brother, and sisters. My mom doesn't know how to use a computer let alone use one so..

It's a lot simpler than it sounds. The only tool you need is a phillips-head screwdriver, plus any motherboard you buy will also include an easy to follow instruction manual for putting it together. It's literally just a matter of putting the right item into the right slot.

Plus, putting it together shouldn't take too long either. Never takes more than 2 hours. Just make sure that before you start, you've taken a few safety precautions like pre-electromagnetic discharge.

Just PM me if you need a hand with this sort of thing and I can help you out :).

Had a quick look at these. OP wanted a monitor included, which none of these do. Plus, a lot of these sort of sytems can be built for a lot cheaper than $1000.
