I don't know what to do. I've recently been diagnosed with diabetes which means no more carbs for me, no potatoes, startch foods, no noodles, white bread, nothing like that. That's hard enough and I also struggle with eating meat because I feel terrible about it. I tried going vegetarian before and I got fat because all I ate was starch foods. I can't eat starch foods anymore because of my diabetes so I feel like I need meat. I like milk too and dairy products. I wish I could go vegetarian because I hate how animals are treated in the factories. Why can't they just treat them humanely. I hate it. I try to tell myself not all animals are treated like that at all factories. I think they are though because there's mass production of meat everyday. I don't know what to do. I need to stay healthy but I love animals so much :( I'm so stressed out over this.
Set a diet for yourself, and avoid any temptations that may harm you. Setting standards for yourself really helps.
In my opinion vegetarianism is ridiculous. Being unable to eat the meat of an animal that has been ruthlessly slaughtered for the masses, yet able to have their other produce such as milk or eggs, foodstuffs which were gained from possibly the same animals that have been slaughtered to suffice your stomach? That's ridiculous. Having the produce of said animals also supports the cause of having them slaughtered for their meat. There's no bonus morality there. If you aren't comfortable consuming other animals, then go vegan. (Sorry if that sounded harsh, but consider that for a moment). Only problem with having to resort to plants only is that due to the lack of starch, you need to consume a lot more in order to feel full, unless you have surgery performed on your stomach in order for you to need to eat less to feel full. Or you can just eat at a slower pace. If you want to see why that works then read this. You could try having more nuts and fruit. to have more fatty acids which also help you feel full faster. For nuts, try almonds or walnuts. For fruit, try olives and avocados. That's all the advice I have for now.
If you are diabetic, I'll assume you have to follow a specific diet. What you could do is google diabeties-friendly recipes or alternatives for foods so you can still eat foods you like or yummy food but it will be healthier options for you personally and I know many people who are diabetic, but it's just something I guess you will have to adapt to. Good luck!
Thinking of dying animals while eating is the last thing you should be thinking about xd You shouldn't be stressing out about this, just enjoy your food, don't stress about it. If you still don't feel comfortable about eating meat, try goings for some diabetic-friendly recipes as said above.
Vegetarianism really is not a very well recommendation from other people, especially any sort of doctor. You'll lack the vitamins and minerals that your body requires in order to survive. Meat and Vegetables both contain unique vitamins and minerals, though they also contain some of the same stuff. Your body requires the carbs in meat, which I am sure Vegetables don't have (Correct me if I am wrong). Meat production has been a tradition since pre-history. People back then obviously farmed and hunted for meat to get what they need for food. It's changed a lot because now we have meat farms which breeds cows and sells them to be slaughtered. Hunting still exists, though it never gets into the store. Now a days, it's more for sport and killing, which is something I am personally against. The only time I tolerate hunting is when the meat is food rather then poached for personal gain. I recommend you eating more meats. They slaughter them for a reason, and that is for food purposes so you don't have to starve. The animals in the factories are in fact making a sacrifice so we don't have to starve. I too am an animal lover, but I also am a meat lover as well.
I'm still going to eat meat. I just wish they would treat the animals right in the factories. Kill them in a humane way, and no abusing them while they are alive :(
For the milk, I always drink 0% fat milk, and it actually tastes good. I reccomend it to people who the 2% milk is unhealthy.
There are so many farms that kill animals in humane ways. It's not like they slowly torture the animal to death. It's a quick, painless death.
