Since when is MC a competitive game? I don't see it being an eSport any time soon.
But, if it was an eSport, I'd wait for the 2/3v1 complainers to roll on in to try it out. Lol.
I'd beat you after you won. :3

There's a reason that games based on mechanics and reaction time alone (like osu) have question all success at becoming a solid eSport. Simply put, there's no strategy, and what happens is almost mindless. It's boring for spectators.
Games like Starcraft involved some strategy, but the reaction time and speed required was also overwhelming for players that wanted to go pro.
MOBAs are the only really successful eSports in this day and age. Games like League of Legends, DoTA 2, and Smite all require a large degree of strategy as well as skill at the game itself. Players don't only make skillful plays, but also smart and strategic plays. Those are really worth watching. Not to mention that spectators find it alluring because unlike osu and Starcraft, you don't need to be able to jitterclick or have stupidly fast reaction time or anything. All it takes is practice, dedication, and knowledge of the game - these three things bring MOBA players to the top of the leaderboards and into the pro teams.

Minecraft would basically only revolve around PVP as an eSport. In other words, it would be an osu with even less coordination and more blatant button mashing. And a game of "May the best clicker and item switcher win?" Where's the fun in watching that?
