Dear Climate Denialists, Some of you are very good friends of mine. I want you to know however, that you are metaphorically asleep and that I wish I could pretend that we aren't trashing Earth, either. But... Never have I ever been more horrified in my life than by looking at the following linked page. I encourage you to think about what this planet means to you after looking through all 27 images. http://beforeitsnews.com/prophecy/2...e-in-danger-7-left-my-mouth-open-2470130.html Wake up, guys. I love you. Sincerely, A dreamer who is scared out of his wits AKA SinisterKnowledge. P.S. I don't want to cause too much controversy. If this thread becomes an issue because people are arguing/flaming/depressed/whatnot then I will close it ASAP.
Yes it is a problem and we can fix it. But what really needs to be done is a separation of business and politics only then when politics isn't influenced by businesses is when we can make huge changes.
Us and the earth have a big problem, that needs to be solved quickly, but without making a bigger mess.
%100 supportive of this, anybody who thinks otherwise is deluding themselves (That or they're ignorant/uneducated)
Oh, let me assure you, I said absolutely NOTHING about terrorism in comparison to climate change in this post. To answer your question: Is it more important in the short run? I'm actually not sure. Is it more important in the long run? Probably. Is it something I'm passionate about? Yes. Is it something that I said took priority over terrorism? No. In a perfect administration, they would both be priorities. Now, this is looking at climate change from the perspective of science and general appreciation of our planet. If you want to talk about it in political terms, you are welcome use another thread. I'd like to keep this on topic in the meantime.
The thing about terrorism is that it isn't going to affect everything in the world. However climate change is. Therefore I think it is a bigger issue. Currently many governments are focused on worrying about/making war when we should be trying to save the planet because this isn't just about us like every war that has ever happened rather it is about the world as a whole. So whilst terrorism is a problem it is a problem with smaller consequences and easier fixes than climate change.
I would think the planet we live on is more important than a bunch of murderers so yea I would say it is a bigger issue than terrorism. Save the Earth first then fix terrorism
Well we can't just go on blaming "society" and "other countries" and "everyone" because WE are PART of Society. Each and every one of us has contributed to this earth's doom. We have all done wrong. Nobody here is perfect, so stop blaming others when we are all EQUALLY at fault. How many of you are out there actually going out and fighting in Afghanistan? Or fighting against terrorists in ISIS? How many of us are actually going out and resuscitating dying animals from oil spills? How many of us are actually doing something that actually makes a difference? How many of us are actually installing air purifiers in Beijing because the people there can't even see the sky because it's so polluted? If you're reading this, the answers to the above are not true because you're sitting at home on a computer... using energy... contributing to the very thing we all blame everyone else for. I'm at fault. You're at fault. We're all at fault. My point is, before we can even BEGIN to try to fix any of this world's problems, we have to learn to STOP BLAMING everyone but yourself and take some action.
Oh, by the way people. The Gulf Stream Current is slowing down because the polar ice caps are melting because of Global Warming. It's been slowing since 1982, as far as we know. No one has done anything about it. The Current takes equatorial water and brings it upward along the East coast of the US across the Atlantic into Europe. If it freezes, or stops completely. The upper part of the hemisphere with become an Ice Age. A solution for gas is Hydrogen Fuel. Which will probably take over in the upcoming decades. The Earth's population will likely double by 2040 and space is becoming an issue. That means more polution. My children will have to deal with our current problems at this rate. That's not something I'm looking forward too. I'm not helping this Earth as much as I wish I could. I recycle and that's about it. We as a species need to collaborate on the dilemma. We can look at the galaxy as a "solution." All we would be doing is leaving our homeworld to perish and inhabiting a new one. That new Earth would decay as ours. We need an actual solution. We need things that don't hurt the environment to the point of self-extinction. We will either kill ourselves with war, or the Earth will not be suitable for human life.
