Other Games Minecraft: Story Mode Trailer

Telltale Games have made are making spinoff version of Minecraft by giving us a story to follow, sounds crap to me but I want to hear your guys opinions.

My opinion of the trailer, Do they want people to play this game? it looks really rough and unappealing, I don't know whether it was to make it look rough for some reason, idk. I also noticed that 2 cobble and 1 stick make a iron sword (tell me if I am wrong here.) I'm guessing Telltale games focus audience is people around the age of 6-12 as it would make sense due to Minecraft being some what "boring" for younger audiences.
Anyway I want to hear your opinions of it, and please don't turn this into an argument, its just a debate and I have a feeling it might turn bad. (just a warning.)

 

I actually think the animation is cool. But that stone sword is very smooth and looks almost like an iron sword.

A story mode would be good bcuz:

Single player will be more fun
Most fps games have campaigns which makes a great story and a game with a story seems more in order
The story will attract people if its good
The animations and cutscenes may make some players think the game will finally have a purpose.

 

As long as they make the game good im all down for it.

 

I think it's going to be good since it has both adventure and a following story, and seems like it has some cool challenges which can be exciting

 

The Walking dead Series was fantastic. I doubt TTG will fuck up with Minecraft

 

I hope it doesn't fudge up like its predecessor...

 

It sounds pretty interesting so I want to try it out once its released.

 

Slamacow is better at animations

 

Looks boring, but fun at the same time.

 

Wow, this game sounds like it has some potential. But no steve and alex?? You cant have minecraft without the original characters! But instead they got these people who i hope they have developed personalities and are likeable.

Cant wait for this game along with Lego dimensions and Transformers devastation

 

You can download a popular adventure map
And get almost the exact same result.
I really don't care either way; I'm still going to stick to adventure maps rather than TTG.

It also seems like your cliché movie. It really does.

 

Why didn't they just make Slamacow to animate it.

Tbh, the animation doesn't look really good. They should have made some the mouth movements smoother. And the players... they just look... just not minecraft anymore. I can't really explain it. It just looks weird.
I do sorta like the story mode whole thing, but I just really hope they fix the players and look more smooth, like what Slamacow makes.
I do hope this does turn out good. If not then... there will be MANY disappointed people.

 

I hate spin-offs, they aren't as good as the original.
It could have potential, but it just looks like something to gain attention/make money.
I'm not sure what I think of it, right now.

 

Agreed that Slamacow could've animated it. But as far as I know, Slamacow operates on his own with help from bootstrap Buckaroo, so he makes quality animations but it takes lots of time.
ElementAnimation is also another good candidate as Mojang used their texture pack in last year's April Fools. If they can't have Slamacow, at least have another good animator studio.

As for the story mode, I can and will never accept it. Minecraft's charm is that anyone can make anything in it. It's a frickin' sandbox game, don't put a story in a game that was intended to be sandbox.

 

Yea, ElementAnimations would be good.
