So recently I've heard a lot of people misusing the term "weeaboo"。 So I just wanted to get this straight because I hate being called a weeaboo because I'm not。
THIS is not a weeaboo: "You know, one day I would like to go to japan, maybe study there。 Their advances in technology and cars really interest me。Plus, their culture and their cities are really beautiful!"

THIS is a weeabo: "WATASHI WA OGENKI DOITSU DOITSU KAWAII DESU"
See the difference? The first statement is someone who is interested in Japan。 The second statement is someone blurting out Japanese terms they heard in anime。For the record, the second statement doesn't even form a sentence。And it's kind of offensive to Japanese people。

Yes, liking anime is liking anime. "Hey I like this anime too, I think it was really well written" Being a weeabo is being offensive to Japanese culture, saying random words in japanese like "DOITSU ANIME WATASHI WA GENKI NANI FUCK YOU YUKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII" that is offensive to Japanese.

a little psa to ya'll "otakus" out there:
japanese people hate otakus more than everything. if you call yourself an otaku, have a room full of figurines of animated girls with oversized boobs and you spend like 3/4 of your day doing anime shit, japanese people will think you're disgusting and a loser.
japan isn't the "anime paradise", sure, there's the otaku center and what not, but japan is more than just animated shows with ridiculous plots.

 

I really like to watch anime, but I know nothing about Japan. I didn't even know till this day that a word like weeaboo existed.
