Handling reports..

All staff members care ( I'm pretty sure they do ) about the community. Putting a smiley face is not going to change something if you keep on putting it on every single report like YFI said. Honestly, putting a smiley face or a thank you wont be any impact on me ( My opinion ).

 

I understand you have irl things... But even if its just copy and pasting a NICE longish reply would go a long way <3

It has a good impact on loads of people but if its not the staff members personality then great handle it their way BUT I HATE I mean I HATE when every report is just "/c" or "thanks /c" even just a "handled /c" goes a long way!

 

I'm not saying the staff should write a novel on each response but I think just a little effort to be courteous to someone when denying a report, should not take up too much time. How long would a little more effort take? Maybe 45 seconds at most.
As for being redundant, so what? They're staff members and it should just be assumed that they mean what they're saying.
A little kindness goes a long way.

 

Reports are a small part of what we do.

It would be inefficient and unnecessary to write a "longish" response to a report that the person would honestly forget about in the next 5 minutes; alerting the player that I did something and thanking them for reporting is a sufficient response, in my opinion. What is most important is that the reported player is dealt with accordingly.

In the report section, only staff and the player creating the report can reply to it. Therefore there isn't much point in putting your name along with the final message, as it's directed to you anyway.
If we didn't solve a report by banning or warning the person, we'd say that. If we did solve it, the "Thanks for reporting /c" thing is self explanatory.

I believe she was talking about reports in the report section, not post reports.

 

Re read it now, I meant in terms of replying to it.

Edit: To add on to the previous post so it's visible, a report is only closed when we solve it. Therefore combined with the actual "thanks for reporting", you should know when it's closed.
