Most of us are in school. So my guess is wr have all had some experience with school lunch. So I got curious. There are lots of different cultures represented on this forums. So id thought it would be intresting to see what people eat, and what its like. Here is my example: Overall are lunch program is okay. For what it is its not bad. The price is less then $3.50 a meal, try to find a full meal for that price at a restaurant. Some of the food is tasty, some terriable. Days typically define what a lunch will be like Spoiler: The daily brakedown MONDAYS: Are mostly bad. Monday is always nacho day, ehich you either love or hate. TUESDAYS: Are friggin amazing. Garlic Cheese bread, pancakes, Cheese sticks all on the Tuesday rotation. WEDNESDAY: Also good. there is pasta Wednesday, so you cant go to wrong THURSDAY: Mostly bad. If there is good stuff there is a stupidly long line. FRIDAY: Are okay. There is always pizza, but other then that its fairly meh We get a 30 minute lunch period, so I have to eat realtivly fast. And lastly here is a picture of what I had this last Monday: -- So tell me your experience below!
At least your lunch actually looks appetizing. Sadly, I'm no longer in school so I can't take a picture of my lunch but our lunch food is the worst. Very cheaply made, reheated food. If you would even consider it food.
I gotta agree with Misfit. That actually looks like food. My school used to serve that but I don't know what happened. I really don't pay attention to my lunch at school because that's when I play nerdy card games. The only good days would be Fridays because they serve Kalua Pig or Roast Turkey which actually looks appetizing, but still are meh. And then we find out that they reheat everything. Oh
our school lunch is honestly the most disgusting and unhealthy food ever (pizza, hot dogs, etc) I rather bring my own lunch.
Ditto to DeadlyFighter, although our food is a lot more expensive. For 3.50$ I could buy a slice of pizza or something. :L
First Lady Michelle Obama is on a "mission" to give the children in the U.S. healthy meals. However, we get served craptastic food that's been reheated multiple times, is incredibly unhealthy, and it's served with near rotting fruits and vegetables. I liked it better before this "program" started, GJ Michelle. Oh, and did I mention the curdling milk, the "lowfat" inedible condiments? Thank goodness the state of Indiana had the guts to stand up to the government and go back to their old ways. EDIT: Heck yeah I brought my own food, it doesn't mean I can't share my experiences and opinions on it. For a time, I did eat the school food, and it hasn't changed at all from the time I ate it and started packing my own food. I've also seen many news articles about kids food being taken away for it being deemed "unhealthy." Bish please, you're telling me that my ham, cheese, and mayo sandwich is more unhealthy than the pizza filled with artificial fillers and preservatives? Jeez. We already pay school taxes, I know that you're just trying to get more money out of us by making us pay for your "food." Screw off schools, just teach us how to do stuff which you are more than able to do due to the amount of tax dollars you collect each year, and we will be on our way. Also you are more than able to provide something more than prison food and still bring in a hefty profit. Stop being so greedy.
We have this facilities thingy provider called Sterling. The meal is 16 riyals, the drinks are 2 riyals, and just a small portion is 10 riyals. Spoiler: lunches Sunday=some ok foods.. it's usually like salad bar, sandwiches, or rice & fish. Monday=nachos that are OK with this sauce that gives after taste but meh Tuesday=some pizza hut because these are half days Wednesday= corn, salad bar, mashed potatoes, etc Thursday= potato wedges (the pizza hut kind but they're freaking amazing) or fries, chicken wings etc or salad bar. Usually I just get either a salad, or some hot soup with a lemon mint(10 riyals from the bar.) Sometimes I get a caramel crunch from the coffee beanery. They also have a subway, but I don't like subway much.
Our school lunches are fine, but personally I bring my own lunch because I like salad. I bring about 1-2$ to buy a bag of chips or ice cream sometimes because they're good lol
I normally go out for lunch because our school allows that. I don't eat meat, and our school lunches always have meat. I'll walk, or drive to this small place in my city to get lunch, it's like a vegetarian place. Or there are other small restaurants that'll have lunch specials for the high school students. Sometimes I'll bring my own but most of the time I go out. And, after I get my lunch I'll go to the coffee shop and get coffee because you know me I love coffee. Then back to school. I actually don't even know what my highschool sells for lunch, I know that it's unhealthy, that is for sure.
We don't have a cafeteria or anything. #IrishPrimarySchools Normally I would bring a sandwich, a drink, some sort of oat and chocolate bar or waffles or pastries etc. and a bit of fruit.
In my school I get lunch for free. (Only because my mom lies on the application LML). Lunch is usually bad in my school but sometimes it's good. My school doesn't really have a schedule. It's mixed everyday (except Friday when they serve pizza.)
Its awesome! Every day we have Pizza (Cheese, Pepperoni, and the Special Pizza) Chocolate chip cookies and M&M cookies daily Pretzels occasionally Tater tots daily Chicken Burgers, Hamburgers, Cheeseburgers, and Spicy Chicken burgers daily Salads daily (All America, Thai Chicken, and Ceaser) Chicken Nuggets daily..... you get it by now.....
