Hey everyone! So recently I've been taking a couple hours off my computer a day to go out and go for walks outside (the weather has been BEAUTIFUL here) And I've also recently made the decision to get healthy and lose some weight and get better eating habits. Starting off my journey I have to take things a little bit slow (my doctor has told me too) and progress as my body gets more and more able. So I've been getting in atleast a mile walk everyday, around 40-50 squats (different types, not all traditional), anywhere between 20-30 sit ups, and around 10-15 crunches. I don't really have too many healthy meals I like, seeing as that I'm a HECKA picky eater (and quite frankly alot of veggies taste like dirt) but I have cut out all fast food (besides an occasional Ice Cream cone from mcdonalds because those are BOMB) Where I'm going really with this is in the title of this itself What are some of your favorite exercises and healthy meals! I'd love to be adding more to my list to help me stay motivated :D Also if any of you have any weightloss and/or getting healthy journeys feel free to tell me about it ^_^
I go to the gym that's where I mainly exercise, but apart from that I try to go on daily jogs with some of my friends. I try to keep my eating under control or all this exercising will be useless. If your trying to build muscle 80% of it is diet. You can't do work outs then go to Mc Donald's. It will all be a waste. I've had experience with these type of things in the past.
Vegan? D: I wouldn't even know where to begin trying veganism, in Kentucky its a rather rare thing to see a vegan lol. All the vegan food is always twice as expensive too. But I'd love to try veganism honestly :D just have no clue of what types of food to get. Also, not trying to build any muscle :P Just trying to lose around 20 ish pounds to be at a healthy normal weigh. And I don't eat anything at mcdonalds :p I take my cousins there on the weekends (if they're in town) and we'll all get a cone as a treat, haha.
Where I play baseball, it is more of a speed sport than a power sport, so we run a lot during warm ups (too many games to have practices). Also, I ride my bike to school, and where I live is pretty hilly. Many Japanese foods are quite healthy so yeah :P
You don't necesarrily need to eat healthy all the time. Things that I do that have definitely helped me keep in shape are: Drinking water only. This helps you A LOT, believe me. It is such a big difference when you only drink water. Do not snack. Only eat when it's really necessary. When you are about to snack, ask yourself this question: 'Am I really that hungry, that an apple is enough to still it?' If you don't fancy an apple, you're certainly not hungry, making the snack unneeded calories and fat. Seeing that you work out already, go on with that. The most important thing, something that definitely makes the difference between people who reach their goals and people who don't, is perseverance. Without this, you will easily fall back to your old eating habits, thinking like 'Eating this won't hurt for once.' or 'Skipping a workout day won't affect my body.' If you do this more often your workouts will be way less effective, which is the opposite of your actual goals. If you don't like fruit and vegetables but you still need vitamins, I suggest buying a slowjuicer. A slowjuicer completely seperates the juices from the rest, making it juice only, which is something amazing for people like me, people who want everything to be clear juice. It's a very cool thing. Good luck! ;)
I do a bunch of sports, that's why I don't have a problem with having take out two days in a row(I don't do it a lot, but it does happen when I can't make a meal or something.) Most of the exercise is cardio vescular endurance, etc. It's fun, so I enjoy doing these things and staying healthy. Just one thing though, it's always best to have like fruits that aren't too citrusy after you work out, (i.e: apples, guavas, bananas,) because if you have the citrus, (idk if it's just me but..) you kinda get a tummy ache :( but whatever, just gotta have it all balanced out lol that's really important and don't eat unhealthy stuff for a meal either well else, gl.
I actually only drink water :D I haven't had a soda since I was 10 or so, the carbonation in it burns my throat like MAD. Deff will have to check in on this juicer thing though for sure! Thank you so much ^-^
Exercise? What's that? Okay, but honestly, I don't have any sports under my belt, I don't watch what I eat, and I'm the skinniest person in my group of friends. I'm 5'7" and 104 lbs. I have no idea what's going on with my genetics.
Only eating veggies is BS. If you want to lose weight, only thing you need to do is burn more calories than you consume. If you want to get in shape, consume food rich in protein. If you want a good workout program, I have been doing the "Batman workout" for a year now and I'm quite happy with it. Just google "Batman workout". It's a program made by a professional. I also suggest you taking up some fighting sport. Not to fight, but for the best cardio/muscle workouts. I love Muay Thai.
I used to be like REALLY skinny, my ribs still show actually. Everyday when I return from school, I eat a huge snack, because my lunch is early. But here are my favorite healthy meals: 1. Fruit. I love a lot of fruit, like apples and melon. But, I have a potassium deficiency. I hate bananas. Those 2 don't mix. 2. Everyday for lunch I eat a turkey sandwich on rye bread. It's all organic. Also I do the "Core Crushed" work out at my karate school every Tuesday. We recently named it the "Obleke Obliviator"
I don't really have daily exercises or snacks, I'm already super thin. I have a disorder where no matter how much I eat, I can't gain weight. But I still eat my fruits and vegetables and sometimes go outside and play soccer.
BANANAS ARE DELICIOUS ;-; I actually made a banana/blackberry/strawberry smoothie earlier, weird combo, EXTREMELY delicious.
Food: Week days: Breakfast- 1 Toast with a glass of milk Lunch- Salad with water and at occasions I'll buy myself a little frozen yougurt container like maybe once a week (I don't eat much so I like eating that sometimes) Dinner- It depends, I make dinners for my family, (no, not because my parents are sick or lazy or something like that but because I love making food/cooking.) Usually we eat vegetables, meat, pastas basically and I try to put the less I can in a plate so I don't eat too much. Weekends: Breakfast- I usually eat an egg with cheese and a toast and a glass of water Lunch- Depends, either salad or pastas usually with a glass of milk or water. Dinner- Same for week days, usually we eat vegetables, meat or pastas Workout routine- Entire week: I actually work out quite a bit daily, here's what I do. Jog around where I live, It's a huge circle and 1 circle is 1 km and I jog around it 5 times and I go jog about 3 times daily so I jog about 10-15km daily. 50-75 and sometimes 100 push ups 150 sit ups Side, leg lift and normal plank for about 2-5 minutes each Lift some weights About 30 climbers About 30 burpees I also do some different work outs when I want and stuff but these are mainly my daily ones So yeah, I try to be as healthy as possible. I love doing these workouts, especially jogging. I'm not in any sports but I love playing many sports, I just don't really want to be in a team or anything. Here's some sports I like playing with friends: Soccer Hockey Basket Ball Volley ball Badminton Swimming Tennis Bike Running/Jogging Some more \o/
I live in a moderately tall building, so every weeknight I go up the stairwell a few times, and I think it's a sufficient workout. Not sure if that's helpful for you considering you live in Kentucky and not a place like Manhattan, but stairs are always a better alternative to elevators ^-^ I also usually snack on yogurt instead of unhealthy stuff, like chips, and fill my stomach with water to stay hydrated, but sometimes I can't help but snack on junk food xD By the way it's a scientifically proven fact that thirst is easily mistaken as hunger, so if you ever feel hungry, drink water. Oh, and don't eat through your feelings, if that's what you do. If you're not happy or aren't feeling too great, don't go to the fridge; exercise instead. But overall good for you for taking care of your body ^-^ Reducing fat cell size while you're an adolescent is tremendously helpful long-term. EDIT: Don't exercise for longer than 30 mins a day too btw. Unhealthy if you do more.
Aha! I do live in basically the deadset city of Louisville but I think people would find it a bit strange if I used their buildings just to run up and down the staircases xD However we do travel to a couple beaches in the Summer time and my grandpa always likes to have the highest floor, whenever I was around 12 I got stuck in a hotel elevator for almost an hour, never used hotel elevators since xD I will haul my 2 overstuffed suitcases up 40 flights of stairs if I had too honestly xD I also have been getting in about 2 miles of just straight up walking (when its sunny) and that takes about 20-25 minutes depending on if I stop to site see. So good to know I'm not over doing it! Thank you all so much for the helpful tips + your own stories :D Motivates me heaps! Oh and @Ninjaman I really wish I was able to try Japanese food, but alot (atleast that's aviable here, not trying to sound stereotypical) contains fish/fish products and fish/any seafood is basically satan to my tastebuds ;-;
