If you checked my last profile post, I won't be on that much as I used to, but I will still update this frequently. I've been swamped with schoolwork recently and I'll probably update this more frequently as the month goes by.

Chapter 12: MidnightRecovery​

Normally I hate waking up in the morning, but this morning was probably the most amazing I've ever experienced since I landed in this dimension. I don't know if it's a dimension or if that other place I came from was still in this world, but- wait, what was that place called again? Ehh, it doesn't matter anymore! Today's going to be a wonderful day and I'm sure of it! I don't even mind that I just hit my head against the ceiling. I don't even mind that I fell face-first onto the ground trying to land off the top bunk!
"Morning, Kono!" I heard as I tried walking out the door. I turn around to find Louise with a bright smile on her face and as healthy as ever. "How're you feeling today? nala's still sleeping. I guess she's always like this, though. Hey, why don't we get to the mess hall? We can just raid the kitchen instead since Kat's still recovering." she said.
"Sure! I'm feeling really good today!" I said.

Louise and I headed to the kitchen. It was right across from the training room corridor, so we just slipped into the room and grabbed a red sphere and a yellow, cylindrical object.
"What are those?" I asked.
"These are fruits. How have you not heard of them? They're really delicious and healthy. This is an apple and this is a banana."
I try the banana while Louise digs her demon-teeth into the apple. "This is really good!" I exclaim.
"They're supposed to be, silly. I think the other boys are waking up so they should be going into the dining room soon. Should we make something for them?" Louise suggested.
"Sure! What should we make?" I asked.
"Wanna try make those pancakes Kat always makes?"
"Okay!"
We hastily grabbed what we needed to make the dish: eggs, flour, some other things. Man, I really do suck at this cooking thing.
I was really confused as to how the pancakes were made so the both of us just worked on making them together while keeping a smile on our faces each time we failed. At last, we made pancakes for Xeno, Twage, Kaz, and nala. I thought Kat didn't need to eat, so we made a few for her in case she was up and running.

Louise and I set up the pancakes on the silverware for showcase and we headed to the dining room where Xeno, Twage and Kazuke where seated at the dining table.
"Hey! We made pancakes for you guys!" Louise exclaimed while handing a plate to each individual.
"Thanks!" Xeno said.
"You didn't have to." Kaz said.
"Alright!" Twage exclaimed.
Louise and I were happy to see the turnout of what happened when people were nice to each other. The three were happily eating the pancakes when I noticed something strange. Twage and Xeno were talking about a "soccer" match last night. We had an important upbringing last nigh- wait.
"Hey, Louise. Where's nala and Kat?" I asked.
"Who?" Louise replied, "nala's sleeping peacefully, but who's Kat?"
"Kat. You know. Divine powers, got hit in the head last night and was controlled by Radii this whole time."
"What are you talking about, silly? Whoever this Radii and Kat are, they should be good people right?"
"I'm going to see nala." I said as I headed out the dining room to our room.
"But you can't!" Twage exclaimed but I was already out the door.

I ran to the girls' bedroom and tried shaking nala awake. She wouldn't budge like she did last night when she felt more human. But the figure I was shaking didn't feel human at all. I uncovered the blanket to find a bunch of pillows made to replicate nala's shape.
"I told you not to go there!" Louise said from behind me.
I jumped and faced Louise. "Wh- what'd you do with her?!" I asked.
"Oh ho ho, it's too late. You see, your friends have already turned on you. You probably haven't figure it out yet, but it was a bad idea to absorb that purple aura. So. It is I! Radii makes her triumphant entrance!" Louise said while cackling.
Then an arrow of light pierced Louise-Radii's chest.

Really?What if Kono was the dragon and she was just telling a backstory in another body?

Chapter 13: Truth​

"She's coming to!" I heard a voice in the background. It sounded really familiar, like it was one of my friends, but I couldn't recognize it. It sounded like Xeno though. All I cared about was rest, but it was really weird what happened. I can remember it all:
「"GAHH!" Louise-Radii scowled as the arrow pierced her chest. Louise fell to the ground and I felt a tap on my shoulder.
I turn around to find Kat with long-flowing hair, white wings, and a halo. She was also holding a scepter.
"Hey." Kat said, "Thanks for saving me, but you shouldn't have absorbed the purple that came from me. Things just happened, and you need to wake up now. No arguing, just-"
Kat stopped mid-sentence with her hand out and her mouth agape, just as she said "just." Then everything started to disappear: the room, the beds, and the corridor. Instinctively, I closed my eyes shut and hoped that it was all a dream.」

"So it really was a dream." I whispered to myself while opening my eyes. I found nala, Xeno, Louise, and Kat around me. We were all in nala's bedroom.
"What'd she say?" Xeno asked.
"I don't know, something about a beam?" Kat said.
"Kat! Are you okay?" I exclaimed while thrusting my arms around her.
"Yah, I'm fine! I should be asking you that question." Kat said.
"What happened?" I asked nala.
"Well, what's the last thing you remember?"
"Going to sleep after Kat was healed by you, nala." I replied.
nala inhaled and exhaled and said, "Well, the morning after that, it seemed all was going well. Truth is, today is three days after that day. That morning, Kat recovered fully, but you didn't. Everything was going well until we discovered you trying to get into my library-"
nala just stopped. Louise just stopped. Everything just stopped. Everything fizzled and got really weird. It's like I could put my arm through any of the. Then I heard a cackle and it sounded like someone in a dream. Out of the sliding doors leading to the hallway appeared a ghost-like illusion and it said, "I wasn't done talking with you, you know. Amplify me. Trust me. It will set things right." Everything continued on the timeline and nala continued explaining:
"and everything happened like when you and everyone else fought Kat, but it was a bit more complicated this time around. Hey, you okay? Look's like you've just seen a ghost."
"Th- that's be- because I just did. It told me to amplify it."
"Kat" nala said, "scan"
"Got it. There's nothing here." Kat said.
"You see, Kono, Kat can scan the entire building for evil. She just needs to attune it so it doesn't affect me." Louise said.
"We call it our 'Kat-scan'." Xeno said while getting hit by Louise in the gut.
"It was probably your imagination or something, Kono. I can't see anything." Kat said.
"You know, nala. I'm ready. Let's see Radii." I said.
"Ya sure?" nala said, "I'm alright if it's alright with you."
"I'm sure. I have to give you something as well." I said while absorbing nala's magic and reimbursing her.
"What was that?! I love my power!" nala said.
"It'll get better. I predict you can freeze objects and turn any water into it's gas form." I said.
"Pfft. I could've already done that you know. I don't know what this is going to do now." nala said.
Something then happened, a blue vortex appeared on the glass of the aquarium while lightning crackled around it.
"I didn't do it!" exclaimed nala while thrusting her hands above her.

Yay new plot device of kono's insanity making it hard to tell whether or not what the story is saying is reality! This just made things so much more interesting for theorists :D

A new challenger approaches!

Chapter 14: DimensionalTraveler​

Out of the crackle and inert sounds of the portal came a figure that none of us could see nor comprehend. The figure looked like fire. The fire you'd see on a drawing or a piece of art, but then the fire dissipated into the darkness of the void that was implanted on the glass of nala's bedroom. Then an arm thrust out and hit the floor of the room and we all screamed. The arm pressed against the perimeter of the void and another arm thrust out to the perimeter. A leg crawled out and another and when we all stared at the top of the figure, it was a boy in his teenage years with spiked black hair, black glasses, and a black scarf covering his face. He was wearing a black shirt and regular jeans underneath his dark, black jacket.
"Wh- who are you?" Xeno asked.
"Me? I'm just a traveler. Don't mind me. I've been searching for answers for quite some time now." the shadowy figure said.
"Answers?" nala asked, "I demand a full response as to why you're here or I will be forced to take action."
"Don't worry yourself, nala." he said to a surprised nala, "I may come off as suspicious, so how may I gain your trust?"
"You already earned our trust. I don't detect any signs of mistruth, nala." Louise said.
"I can't argue with that." nala said, "Welcome to Alem, or the depths of the ocean that's right next to it. May I ask what the answers you are seeking for are?"
"I don't mind answering that actually. The name's Hamood, by the way. I've been searching for answers about my special ability. The places I've been to were horrible, like a place with a mad scientist attacking some helpless people with thousands of soldiers, or a place that has others constantly accused of crime. For one, there wasn't anything about my ability, and second, I was hunted for having mysterious powers." our new friend said, "If you trust me, I'll trust you." Hamood tilted his back backward. He made a motion that looked like he was going to spit something out, but instead he blew out fire. We then heard some clapping and saw Twage and Kazuke in the sliding door opening, with Kazuke awkwardly clapping. "Well, so, any explanations?" Hamood asked.
"I've never seen a power like that. Do you have a tome? Or any book with you?" nala asked.
"Umm, yah, actually." Hamood said while taking a black book out of his jacket, "I don't know how this leads to answers though."
"It just means you're one of us." Twage said in the background, "That book probably taught you how to breathe fire, am I correct? We all have books like that and they all taught us mysterious ways. We're all users of magic."
"Fire-breathing is magic? Well, I saw that along my travels and was hunted as well."
"Well, we're being hunted as well! Thanks to a certain person. You'll help us right?" nala said.
"Huh? Who's the enemy here?" Hamood said.
"Radii's the enemy here." Louise said.
"Radii?! You mean, my squad leader?! She's here!? I thought she was back at the circus with every- wait, what did you say your name was? nala? The sword swallower? What are you doing here?!" Hamood said.

Dammit Kono, you just HAD to throw in the breaking-of-the-fourth-wall-and-introducing-all-the-stories-as-a-single-multiverse theory, didn't you?

Now there is literally nothing that could not happen in this story. You just screwed every theorist over on what the storyline could end up being.

Chapter 15: Confirmation​

"Umm, sword swallowing?! What is this?!" nala said as the portal which Hamood came out of disappeared.
"Uh, uh," Hamood said nervously, "well, I AM a fire-breather, so I was enlisted in this circus, and you were there and so was Radii."
We all stared at Hamood with blank expressions while trying to figure out what was going on. It didn't make any sense whatsoever that Hamood has seen these things. Radii is supposed to be the concentration of evil that lives on the mountains, and now he's telling us that she's some sort of ringmaster. He's suggesting that we're all part of a circus troupe now. What's going on?
"Actually, I just thought of something. We do have someone who sounds like your version of Radii. Someone who's devious and wants to kill- oh wait! I have to go b- and it's gone. Anyway, he wanted to kill Radii to gain the ringleader position." Hamood said.
"I wonder who that devious person was!" I said.
"I'm sorry, what was your name again? If it's Kono, then that's the person. Damn lion tamer." Hamood said.
"Wait, so I was going to kill Radii? Yes, I'm Kono, Hamood. I guess since you're here, I should say something. I'm not sure if any of you noticed, but I'm not from here. When I came here a week ago, I woke up at the pier and was chased to the beach at Alem. Then I woke up with you nala, and here I am now. The importance of this is what happened before I woke up at the pier. I know for sure what happened. I died. I'm not sure how or why I'm here. First let me recall what happened because I don't know myself what happened. I was living in a place called Denpe. In that place, there was a dragon that completely decimated my friends, one by one, and decimated the town. Louise, you led that squad, and Xeno?" I said while turning to Xeno.
"Yes? I don't like where this story is going." he said.
"You made the dragon stir. You were the reason why we all died. When I came here, I didn't believe that all of you were here. I'm sorry, Xeno. That's the reason why I jumped on you when I first arrived here." I said.
"Hey, um, can we shut up about all of this right now?" a sullen Kazuke said, "There's no reason to get all sappy about this right now. We have a common enemy up in those mountains. We have to defeat her. I'm sorry, Hamood, but we need to kill her. We've lost too many to her. She seeks answers as much as you do, but she'll do anything to get them, unlike you. We need to rise."
"I refuse to kill Radii." Hamood said, "Unless you can convince me. The countless injuries you claim don't say any-"
"Hold it!" nala said with an outstretched finger, "Enough of this. I'm going to do anything to get you to my side. Even this." nala slammed her fist on a nearby table and a purplish-pink aura released from her head. She stretched her hand to Hamood.
"What are you do-" Hamood said. He then crouched down and looked like he was in pain. "I see. This Radii is a different one from my dimension. This one's ruthless. I'll help you."
"What did you do to him?" Louise asked.
"I projected live memory of Radii to his mind. This way he knows the full pain of losing someone." nala said, "We mobilize at dawn. Let's get to bed. This time, it's for real."

Ok, I've taken about 5 minutes to think things over, and my prediction of where Kono's stories will end up is this: those journals that each of the main characters have could be time travelling tomes that cause all of them to show up together in the same places at the same times, but at different points in their own individual timelines. For example, Kono would have started in Denpe, then traveled to the world of witches she is in now, then will move to somewhere else in Bargaining, possibly make it to Hamood's circus eventually, etc. Whereas nala could have started somewhere different, moved to the world of witches, and then to somewhere else, etc. The reason as to why only kono remembers where she was before the world of witches is likely the same reason for why she had nothing written in her journal for her in Denpe. What that reason is, I have no idea. Possibly because of something she did differently when the group started this journal adventure through time allowed her to retain her memories as she swapped lives in the time stream. Sorry if I made your brain explode. I like theories :D

And Kono, I warned you. The second Hamood stepped through that portal, all bets were off as to what could happen.
