Okay, so I am building a competitive but not super-competitive (like IV breeding and all that shit) Weavile. I am currently training it to have 252 EVs in Speed and Attack and then the 4 go to HP. Its current moveset is Night Slash, Swords Dance, Aerial Ace, and Brick Break, and it is also holding a Focus Sash (to survive while using Swords Dance). I do not have the time to breed for Ice Shard, so should I make it relearn Quick Attack to replace Brick Break so that it has a priority move? I have a feeling that @nala, @Perceisha, and @Konohito may be able to help, but you guys can help too :)
There are better priority moves out there. And, considering that it has super speed, you should be focusing on more damage or Krit-oriented moves to complement his EVs
What other priority moves do you mean? And like I said above, I don't have time to breed for Ice Shard. Also, I want a priority move to get rid of others with a Focus Sash and I also don't have time to breed for Fake Out.
There's a move in which it knocks an item out of your opponent's hands, making it unusuable, look by the battle spot tutors for it. It does decent damage and is very useful for your situations. And here are just some priority moves that come to mind: Quick Attack Protect King's Shield Aqua Jet There are a decent amount more. But, for the most part, they do 0 - minor damage, making a damage-oriented Weavile such as yours limited to it's ability - Much like teaching a Blaziken all SpA moves.
I recommend replacing Aerial ace with knock off(I can tutor it for you), not only is it stab, it takes off items which can help later in late game situations. Also I suggest you breed for fake out and ice shard (I know you said you wern't breeding) I'll let you breed off my weavile. Swords dance could be a Thing but once they knock you down to your sash, all it takes is a priority move or a scarfed mon to defeat weavile and if you are about to faint it is best to get as much damage before going down .Brick Break could help for breaking screens but, Weavile is mainly used to make use of its stab attacks for big damage to anything that doens't resist it or is super defensively bulky.
It's already a Weavile ;-; I am playing right now, so we can trade. So, Pokémon brought to Hoenn can be brought back to Kalos, right? If that's so, I will get online right now. You can trade me anything that needs EV training in either Speed or Attack :)
Ninja, if you do plan to take this pokemon into online battles(notice i said if), i would plan on creating a plan like ex: 1.drapion will use: toxic spikes then i will withdraw him. 2. gengar wil use:confuse ray on all the pokemon, then a withdraw. (if possible) etc. so if you do put him onto battles i would suggest making a plan :D (i know this is isnt what you asked help for but it just came up in my mind)
Ice Shard is worth going out of your way to breed for. Quick Attack on Weavile? Pretty much useless, I don't recommend it. If not, ditching Swords Dance and using Choice Band might be a decent idea... At least you'd still have speed as well as attacks plus an extra moveslot.
