Hey I'm wondering what computers work best? I just wanna know and tell me if that computer is a desktop or laptop.
Hello @connmeister, I am using the new Acer Aspire V5 Edition-15. It runs high minecraft settings with great FPS, and it is a laptop. I also recommend alienware laptops as they are made for gaming, but come a bit more on the pricey side.
@TheShadow that's pretty blunt! Building a good computer can be expensive and alot of work. I have built a laptop, but got all parts for free (the laptop was not great quality). Like I said in my first reply, your best bet is probably to buy one.
There's no number one fastest computer, its more of a combination of hardware that's best. Your best bet is to do some research, save some money and build one.
Exactly as Mcc said, but I found this build, check it out: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/9zxfP6 These parts make up a great minecraft focused computer, you should consider it.
Yes but a little pricy and if I built my own computer I would not base it off of windows because personally I hate windows.
You can only base a computer off of Linux or windows. If you don't want either of them, you have to buy a macbook, which cost 1000+ dollars.
Well, you _could_ do a Hackintosh, but that requires very specific hardware in order for Mac to not kernel panic on you
First off, the desktop is more suited for larger jobs than the laptop. Desktop (almost)always beats laptop. I suggest one of those bull shit gaming computers if you don't want to build your own; but, of you do want to build your own, you have to use Windows or Linux. I have never seen anyone with a Hackintosh, and I don't trust it tbh. So, here's some decent stuff you'll need for an OK computer. -Intel(preferably i7) processor. Make sure it's a quad-core, or else you'll probably not run that effecient. -8+ GB of RAM. 8 GB is decent, anything higher will be great though, because your computer can handle a ton of processing and has the power. -1 TB Hard Drive. Just for a good amount of space to hold all of your games and files. Not sure about mother boards or cards. Maybe @~Wolf can recommend those?
Don't even think about getting Alienware, it's overpriced trash. I would honestly recommend building a desktop, you get way more bang for your buck. Also it'll give you knowledge of how to build one. Try out pcpartpicker.com, you can get parts, and it'll tell you if they're compatible with each other. Have fun!
The deal though is, they cost twice as much as a windows pc for playing games like minecraft would. If you want to talk about macbook pros then you're talking about 1200+ dollar machines, while a custom built pc, for 700 dollars, can run minecraft at 300+fps. Though he said he doesn't like windows, but 700$ is too expensive for him... I don't think there is an answer for this, there are no apple machines with a price lower than 1000$ (I believe, but that can handle minecraft at a good fps at least).
